AFL is boring, seriously so many stoppages - it's so repetitive. I'm from Melbourne and grew up with AFL and I'm telling you all that NRL kills it any day.
You need to be fitter then anything, one tackle in NRL consumes so much energy and tackling is 80% of the game. There are only two halves in NRL consisting of 40 minutes which means you have much less of a rest then in AFL. You need to be Fit, Strong and you also need alot of skill and great vision. It takes much more talent to not only spot a teammate behind you but also to hurl a ball to them whilst in the risk of being tackled to the ground.
It's called a tackle. But if you want to refer to it as running into a player then no problem. However you define it doesn't matter, the point is that it takes up a hell large amount of energy. My point of the AFL quarters was that you have more breaks and more time for resting, you get one after every 20 minutes when the quarter ends in NRL however, you only get one rest because of the 2 halves.
AFL is a great sport no doubt but to say that the only skill required for NRL is to be strong is a biased flawed notion, something a 10 year old would say.

I admit that AFL is beating it in terms of crowd population but NRL is growing bigger each year around Australia. Melbourne Storm for example are receiving more support now then ever, plus they are introducing a new team in Perth. NRL definitely has the capacity to become more popular then AFL because the population of 2 of Aus's biggest states (QLD and NSW) prefer NRL. Plus League in NZ is growing.

The grand final between Manly and Melbourne last year in the NRL had over 80,000 and thats with only ONE NSW team playing against the lowest supported NRL team in the country (Storm). 100,000 is only 20,000 more then 80,000, I wouldnt be surprised if NRL reached over 100,000 within the next 5 years.

You need to be fitter then anything, one tackle in NRL consumes so much energy and tackling is 80% of the game. There are only two halves in NRL consisting of 40 minutes which means you have much less of a rest then in AFL. You need to be Fit, Strong and you also need alot of skill and great vision. It takes much more talent to not only spot a teammate behind you but also to hurl a ball to them whilst in the risk of being tackled to the ground.

It's called a tackle. But if you want to refer to it as running into a player then no problem. However you define it doesn't matter, the point is that it takes up a hell large amount of energy. My point of the AFL quarters was that you have more breaks and more time for resting, you get one after every 20 minutes when the quarter ends in NRL however, you only get one rest because of the 2 halves.

I admit that AFL is beating it in terms of crowd population but NRL is growing bigger each year around Australia. Melbourne Storm for example are receiving more support now then ever, plus they are introducing a new team in Perth. NRL definitely has the capacity to become more popular then AFL because the population of 2 of Aus's biggest states (QLD and NSW) prefer NRL. Plus League in NZ is growing.

The grand final between Manly and Melbourne last year in the NRL had over 80,000 and thats with only ONE NSW team playing against the lowest supported NRL team in the country (Storm). 100,000 is only 20,000 more then 80,000, I wouldnt be surprised if NRL reached over 100,000 within the next 5 years.

The Sydney Swans weren't originally from Sydney they were actually known as South Melbourne so had already established a solid fan base in Melbourne before moving to Sydney. You could say they are half interstate. Look at the Grand final between Port and Brisbane, that LESS then 80,000 thats two interstate teams. And you watch in 5 years when NRL grows and gets 100k + people to final
