if you look carefully you can see the spent hull actually flew out the muzzle and got jammed in the hole. It shouldn't be doing that, you should get your shotgun checked by a qualified gunsmith
@toranamunter you might be right but i'm pretty sure it didn't fly out - you can see the shot is repeated, first without the cartridge then with - i'm pretty sure that he just put the cat ridge in to show the width of the hole. In the rare event that a cartridge is ejected it is almost never left intact as the width of the brass base is wider than the barrel so compression occurs splitting the cartridge. I hope this helps.

Pretty intense, but I think I'd like to see a back drop behind the door to see the condition of the slug after going through the door. If it is so much lead silly string then it would be worthless...if it is mostly intact, then it would be worthwhile.
Also, with half of their upper torso visible above the door pane, why would you fire through the door? Now if it was achieving that kind of penetration through the engine compartment...that would be useful.

I own a glock .45 and a 9mm pistol. Of course the 45 has more stopping power, hence the bigger bullet, but the glock I have is very inaccurate. I can stand 15 to 20ft in front of a tree and empty a clip and only half of the bullets hit. They tumble and alot. On the other hand the same distance with my 9mm I can get a few Robin Hood shots with no misses at all. I would def. pick my 9mm over the 45. Maybe a .45 rifle is better?
Hey man, just trying to help here. Rounds don't "tumble" until long after they go sub-sonic. A round will not tumble at 20 feet because the muzzle velocity and rifling of the barrel prevent it. If you are missing a tree at 15-20 feet with any glock, you probably need to check your technique, particularly trigger squeeze and sight picture. It sounds like user error. I have shot just about every Glock model and never experienced the inaccuracy you describe. I prefer the XD though...
@Yeomanv10 The reason for shooting a car door, is because most rounds after hitting the front, bounce around and dont make it out the back. That is why using ballistics to trace rounds through a door can be tough.

One time my cousin shot a .357 into a big heavy railroad lock. A small pin stuck out the back, but the lock didn't open. We went back about 1 week later and apparently railroaders cut the lock off, it was laying there. Another time I shot an old TV set with a 20 gauge shot shell 3 times, it didn't break. I had to go back the next day with a 22 magnum to bust the damn thing. The glass in the picture tube was about 2.5 inches thick.
A BB coult NOT do this. And a 9mm may could, but on a human a 9mm is way to small and fast to really do much damage. SHOTGUN is the way to go. I sold all my hand guns to purchase myself a nice collection of shotguns. A handgun is to get you to wherever your shotgun is

My USP holds 12+1 rounds of 45acp. There's the FNP45 which holds 14+1 cartridges. The 1911 isn't the only handgun chambered in said caliber. Of course shot placement is key, though, you're absolutely right. I plan on picking up a Glock 17 in the future for somewhat cheaper shooting, or even a USP in 9mm. I've grown fond of the USP platform, so I'll probably stick with it. I personally, feel better knowing I have 13 rounds of 185 grain JHP's(1225fps - 616 ft./lbs) by DoubleTap.

@Yeomanv10 not really. i was shooting a 1/8 in thin piece of steel. The 9mm and .40 bent it, but the bullet also flattened. the only think that went through it was the 12 gauge slug. and this wasnt any slug. 385 grain, 1900fps. it was a sabot round

Ive seen a car door stop a .40 hollow point. Just because a .22 will penatrate does not mean all bullets will. FMJ 9mm is a go, but not always JHP. 155gr. vs. 160....and so on. .357sig is the only auto-load pistol ammo that will consistantly defeat all areas of a vehicle. Even .223 is stopped by the front windshield on many occasions. Look up the FBI ballistics reports on your favorite ammo.

It creates a massive trauma sphere within the body of biological material. Mainly due to the extreme velocity.

My USP holds 12+1 rounds of 45acp. There's the FNP45 which holds 14+1 cartridges. The 1911 isn't the only handgun chambered in said caliber. Of course shot placement is key, though, you're absolutely right. I plan on picking up a Glock 17 in the future for somewhat cheaper shooting, or even a USP in 9mm. I've grown fond of the USP platform, so I'll probably stick with it. I personally, feel better knowing I have 13 rounds of 185 grain JHP's(1225fps - 616 ft./lbs) by DoubleTap.

i find it amusing how this guy's called 'Stopping Power', and yet there isn't really much to question as to whether it'll go through when you're shooting at a thin metal plate. I'll be honest here, some bb guns can do that.

@Yeomanv10 not really. i was shooting a 1/8 in thin piece of steel. The 9mm and .40 bent it, but the bullet also flattened. the only think that went through it was the 12 gauge slug. and this wasnt any slug. 385 grain, 1900fps. it was a sabot round

Ive seen a car door stop a .40 hollow point. Just because a .22 will penatrate does not mean all bullets will. FMJ 9mm is a go, but not always JHP. 155gr. vs. 160....and so on. .357sig is the only auto-load pistol ammo that will consistantly defeat all areas of a vehicle. Even .223 is stopped by the front windshield on many occasions. Look up the FBI ballistics reports on your favorite ammo.

@sniper244 Say I own and build AR's so let me tell you every 223 round even as light at a 40 grain bullet goes through a car windshild like a hot knife through butter .
The 40 grain balistic tip is even so powerful I have shot large animals like moose and Caribou with brain shots and its 50 50 the little bullet will exit the skull .
I started out with the 223 with thinking OK just what will this kill, after 15 years in Alaska I use the 223 on everything with in 223 range.

@Moldovawineimporter Like I said, look up the FBI's ballistic reports. Its not a question of weight. And yes, I have no doubt that .223/5.56 will kill anything that moves. It creates a massive trauma sphere within the body of biological material. I may have used the wrong language. .223/5.56 is not necessarrily stopped by the windshild, but, many times the tempered glass will cause the bullet to fragment before it can penetrate a target on the inside. Mainly due to the extreme velocity.

@Moldovawineimporter....Im not trying to discredit .223. Im simply stating the FBI reports that read that their tests showed that .357 sig was more reliable in defeating auto surfaces than .223. I would never purposely use the inside of my vehicle as "cover" from any ammo, especially .223. But in my line of work it is irresponsible to ignore the limits of any ammo I cary or use. And the info on .223 was first shot, not follow up. 2nd round is going to retain its mass.
