Tramway or light rail - Variotram - in Sydney

I think recently they were thinking of expanding it down George st I think all the way to Circular Quay, doubt it will hapen but it was on the news the other day

Does this tramline run through the heart of Sydney's urban centre?

not exactly, the terminus Central station is may be in the downtown, may be next two stations too, but but the other stations are outside
