@thatappletree it's the original SNES-graphics. 16-bit graphics were still used in 1995, because SNES couldn't ran any better than that. If they changed the graphics for the remastered version, it would've taken too much time and the fans of the old version would've got mad.

lol this is the reason they cancelled the fan made pc version wich was going to be 100x better than this in full fledged 3D search chrono trigger ressurection damn. They feared that really good fanmade 3D game would affect they're sales of a port. i alrdy played this in snes and psx i wanted to play the fanmade 3D version. Square-Enix is so unfair. :|

@AaronsGame Depends how hard is to get the SNES-version. I'd recommend to get the emulator and download the SNES-version, because Frog's dialogue is much better, kinda "old-english"-type of speaking.

It would be nice to see a remake but i would hate for there to be voice acting added to the characters. After playing the original i had already made an idea of how the character's voices sounded. But maybe adding voices to a remake of Chrono Trigger would appeal to a new generation of gamers.

This game is beautiful......the best game on the DS easily. I'm not even into handhelds, and only got myself a DS because of this game (and it's still the only game I own)..........this should NOT be remade into 3D, and left alone like a fine wine and it'll just get better with time.

@MaxikingNimero Pretty much a direct port of the SNES version, yeah. They added a few things like a battle arena, a couple of side quests and an additional ending, plus tons of fan service (art galleries, the videos from the PS1 Chronicles version, etc) but this is the same Chrono Trigger that Super Nintendo fans knew and loved.

when i originally saw this trailer, i almost shat myself. considering i played the original SNES version, the first thing that went through my mind was "FINALLY, Square is doing something thats actually worth my time". and then the the thought that immediately followed that was "DO WANT!!!"

This represented the epitome of Squaresoft's days, no other game has been as good as Chrono Trigger. Now Square is pumping out "pretty games" like FFXIII, it makes me sick, their games have no soul anymore...

I have to say, that when the creators of Final Fantasy, Dragontale/Dragon Quest, and Dragonball Z got together to make this game, each a grand master in their own rights, This has got to be..The greatest rpg of them all in the console with a storyline that none have yet to meet. I'm glad to have played the original snes version, and will play the DS version.

By NOT playing this game you would be doing yourself a huge disservice. I'm not much of a person to replay games over once I beat it but this game had me playing three, four times over. The gameplay is great, the story is great. There are dual techs and triple techs you can learn, differentiating depending on who you have equipped in your party.

Trust me on this - you'll thank me later.

The thing about this game is that compared to other rpg's that came out about the same time this one has great character animation. Good soundtrack good gameplay and with the newly added cutscenes you can better picture everything. I love this game and only wish theyd make more like it for the ds with the old style graphics.

it's a "sequel" but the two don't directly connect with one another. Basically, you can see it as teh two games taking place in the same universe, but focusing on different characters and stories.

There is a text-based game that was only released in Japan called Radical Dreamers. I never played it, so I don't know what it's about. But yea, you should play cross next

@Mttt3: The game has multiple endings and you can fight the final boss whenever you please (Doesn't mean you'll win... just means you get to fight it). As far as I cna tell, they're pretty much the same expect the DS version is more or less a better translation, more true to the original Japanese version and with added story and anime style cutscenes.

Chrono Trigger is in the top 3, but I gotta say, I fucking love FF4. It is the most underrated Final Fantasy, and it would also be in the top 3. Four is Epic as well (Good soundtrack too), I highly recommend it.
