Quite safe for a small car from 2000. Wonder if the advanced air bags in my '04 would make a difference or if Nissan made structural improvements for '04 and just didn't test it.

I just tested this today. Wife got some knee injury, and both my hands got beat pretty good in the front passenger seat. I'd say this little car held up up pretty damn well, though its totalled. Thank god, but none of the 4 of us in the car was seriously injured.

I had a 2002 Sentra SE 5 speed and a mexican immigrant hit me head on. He was going 65 and I was going 55mph. I had my seatbelt on and it and the airbag saved my life. If anyone had been sitting in the passenger seat of my car they would have been killed. The passenger seat was broken into 20 peices and was all over the freeway. The Sentra was torn to peices as well. I'm lucky I survived with minor injuries. For a little sub compact car this car crashes really well.

Yeaaaa...speed this up to like 60 mph. Airbags going off doesn't feel good, they hurt like hell, I'm really lucky to be alive cause my 05 Sentra was totalled, whole front end was crushed and bumper flipped backward and broke the windshield
