  • heed the ball laddie

  • push the hammer down in your last swing (before the rotations) then u will get it up in the throwing direction

  • I think your low point in the orbit is going off to the right which is why your throws arent going down the middle. Also I think it would help to flaten the orbit around the first turn and every turn get more high low on it.

  • so i was thinking of taking up hammer as a hobby to preoccupy me in college...any tips for a beginner?

  • you should try to get a little more leverage by getting lower a tad more, then explode up at the end, and praise jesus with open arms

  • ur lefty i cat help. jk, ur left foot is landing late forcing u o throw far right and to add more power try to sit in the intro turn and then push the ball past ur right foot, and just speed up.

  • Left leg is a little wild. Keep it in tighter. Look up at the ball at the high point and stay down and around.

Sweep the ball across the front more. When u catch the ball try to be facing it @ 270.

    Good Luck,

  • It also appears that you do not have a block at the end of your throw. Your ending position should be with your feet planted and crossed and your weight on your toes. Instead of pulling your right foot around at the end, plant it and allow the energy from you to exit through the hammer.

  • Try this:

On every turn the goal is to move the hammer with the right, or in your case, the left side of your body, meaning the left leg and out through the left hand and into the hammer. In order to best do this you have to 'catch' the ball at 12 o'clock. Looks like someone already told you to put your foot down sooner which is good but you need to do more than that. Attach the ground at 12 (or as close to 12 as u can. I try and spot a point on the horizon and hit there every time.

  • Xailow and Faldy15 are both right. You need to work on your winds. The start of a good throw begins with winds. Watch more videos on hammer throwers and just watch their winds. You'll see how long they are. Remember that faster turns does not always translate into the hammer if your radius is short. Stay Long! Looks good though you are on the right track.

  • check out my newer videos! i think i'm improving quite a bit! thanks though. I will always take advice from different points of view! :)

  • Set up your winds more on the left side. Your letting your lowpoint get way to the right. Try for a little quicker winds that are a little steeper. And as headinoven said, try to get your foot down quicker. good luck :)

  • It looks like you have a huge right side low point on this throw so would I be correct in assuming that this throw went way to the right. I have the same problem except on the left side because I am a righty. If you throw your arms out almost like a tennis backhand on spin one it should fix that.

  • Yep, most of my throws go far right... ha.. i'm working on it!

  • If you are open to suggestions, you look like you are over rotating so get your foot down sooner, don't let it hang unless you want to throw like Deal, if so, you would have to sit back in the air to 180 more to prevent from over shooting. Besides that it looks nice and smooth.

  • Thanks man! That's why I put these up!
