  • hello i am wondering if there is any way to change the frames per second while taking a video? i am looking to raise the frames per second. please send me an emal or end me a message thelaxking02@yahoo.com i have a nikon coolpix L100

  • @Thelaxking96 240 fps is the max. Other choices include 120 fps and 60 fps for slow motion playback. 15 fps can be selected for double speed playback.

  • i just dont get one thing, as i already see here that when you change from 1080p and slowed it down to 240fps but doesn't 240fps on the P100 only do 360p videos? in this video it's the same size as the 1080p......

if i'm correct, what you did with this video is that u zoomed in with iMovie in this video?

  • @ClaytonChan the resizing was done automatically by iMovie.

  • I am trying find how to film in black and white trying to find options on the camera

    can you help cheers

  • so that's what the selector button is for!

  • what program you use to edit this

  • @theRDRman

    IMovie!

  • when you set it to slow motion does it record without audio?

  • Hi, I want to know how to configure the camera for slow motion. Could you tell me how?. thank you!

  • Hi!!! i bought this camera 1 week ago. It arrives today, but I want to know how to configure or set up the camera to get the same result than you. Do I have to switch to HS bottom? and then? thanks!

  • wow--

  • can please help me out. How did u get it to look so good? I have the same camera but my videos dont look good. What format do u convert to and what converter do u use? I have a 8gb memory card with like 120 something speeed is that why its bad?? please help me

  • @nightmarenet are you recording in HD?

  • @pjvanallen

    Yeeeesssssssss!

On this super-camera you cal select Hd or HS :DD

  • @nightmarenet well i got it working now sorta. But i recorded stuff in slow motion. i put them on my computer and every video i take slow mo or not flickers when its in mov and the only way to fix it for some reason is in mpg i think and when i convert my slow mo to mpg its not in slow motion or it cuts the slow mo part off!

  • what software did you use to save the video in slowmotion? I have the P100 but I do not know how to playback in slo-mo without running thru a video editing program.

  • @fincloser1230 If you access the movie options menu in the camera, you can record in SLo-Mo and it plays back that way through all devices/software. But to answer your question, iMovie 09.

  • @pjvanallen Thanks I will give it a shot. How do you like iMovie 09?

  • I have this camera and I'm pretty sure I know this answer , but you can't but lenses for this camera like you can other nikons can you ? Cause I would love a fish eye lense but looking at my p100 I don't think you can use those lenses on there . PLEASE HELP !

  • @actandsing102

You are right. The P100 does not have the ability to accessory lenses. I have heard of 3rd party manufacturers (not Nikon) selling adapter lenses for these types of super-zoom cameras. I am told that the additional weight of those lenses can damage the lens/zoom mechanism of these cameras.

  • That camera is sooo on my wishlist!

  • excellent!

  • so how long does the battery last for video?

  • Jiizzzed, i think this is perfect camera for me, like WTH this is so cheap for a long super zoomer AND 1080p HD video, OMG LMAO i NEEDS THIS MONEY :O

  • Would you reccomend this camera for taking sports photos?

  • @Jbb2694 I think it would do OK for sports. But if you want to consistently get better sports shots, you still need a camera with less shutter lag. Something like a D3000.

  • @pjvanallen

actually, the D3000 only does 3FPS...not fast enough for sports. Still It WILL capture EX quality pics. You will need at least 4FPS for sports or use the OLD nikon D2H at 8FPS at 4MP (which can be blow up to 20X30 poster size.)

  • @samanimeguy23: Not true. The faster framing rate will help achieve a high ratio of "keepers"... or will help compensate for a lack of experience. You can make really good sports pictures with just about any camera... including the D3000.

  • #EPIC

  • all Slowmo videos dont have a sound ... ???

  • how do i record slowmo?!

  • @DjSwizo

There is a small collar around the Record button (the button on the back of the camera with a round red dot on it)

Switch the collar selector from HD to HS (high speed).

You can refine the Slow-Mo effect via the video menu settings.

  • how did u get the video to be the same in both HD 720 and in slow 240 wouldent u have to take two diffrent videos and if u did how would it come out so smooth i dont get it how u recorded the same thing in hd and 240 fps

  • @sebichaos I DID record two clips. I mounted the camera on a tripod so that the scene would not change as I recorded the different clips.

  • what did u use to make it hd and in 240 fp cause on the camera i can only capture 240 fps in vga

  • @sebichaos There are two clips spliced together. The first one is HD and the second is 240 fps SlowMo at VGA.

  • @pjvanallen how did u fuse both videos together and turned the 1080p in slow motion cause this looks awesome

  • @sebichaos Pretty easy and simple... lime me.

I recorded two different clips (camera on a tripod) One clip in 720 HD, the other in 240 fps SlowMo. In iMovie put them side by side with a small "ripple" effect dissolve to ease the transition from between the two clips.

  • @pjvanallen how did u get the video to be the same in both HD 720 and in slow 240 wouldent u have to take two diffrent videos and if u did how would it come out so smooth i dont get it how u recorded the same thing in hd and 240 fps

  • @pjvanallen oops! I recorded the HD clip in 1808 not 720.

  • @pjvanallen oops... I recorded the HD clip in 1080 not 720.

  • @pjvanallen lol but how did u get both 720 and slow mo to be perfectly the same with two diffrent clips thats almost impossible

  • @sebichaos I thought it was pretty easy. Try it and see for yourself.

  • @sebichaos ok but theres a problem i dont have a program to do that can u suggest one i could get i have windows 7 like any program i could use to do what u did

  • @sebichaos I am no longer a Windows guy... But take a look at Adobe Premiere Elements. I have used it before and it seemed to do a pretty good job for this kind of stuff.

  • @pjvanallen ohh ok yea im getting a mac soon i hope lol ok illl check it out thanxs

  • But the D3000 has no video capture at all... so... IF and only IF video capture is a feature you really want in a new camera, then the D5000 would be a better D-SLR choice over the D3000.

  • Is that right that this camera can record slow motion videos at 120FPS at 640 x 480 in size in clear VGA? or is it QVGA? and how many seconds does it allow in this mode? Cheers!

  • @jasonemperor this camcorder does record at 120fps in standard def, it only lets you record for 10 seconds though, same at 240fps, but a much smaller video. thing about the 10 second is though, when you record at 120fps for 10 seconds, the output video is 40 seconds long, at 240fps, it's 80 seconds.

  • Just wondering, can you zoom in during recording slow-motion videos or only zoom in before recording? Thanks

  • Zoom does not appear to move during the High Speed video capture. It does zoom during HD capture.

  • is this out in the uk?

  • @FinnsFilms I don't have shipping info for the UK, but it should be out world wide any time now.

  • Thank you, but I am now going for the Nikon D3000 :D

    Cannot wait! xD

  • The D3000 is an awesome entry-level camera. However, it does not do video capture. So if video is one of the features you are looking for, you might want to check out the D5000.

  • Full HD at 30 fps... smaller non-HD video at 240 fps

  • @pjvanallen

    I found this info:

    320x240 @240fps

    640x480 @120fps

    1280x720 @60fps

    1920x1080 @15fps

    is it right?

What resolution/speed did you use to make this video? 720HD@60fps? It seems to be an high resolution and an high speed...

  • @ giugo: That is the same info I have on the speed/resolution settings.

I shot two clips. The first at 1080p/30fps and the second at 320x240/240fps. To make sure everything stayed lined up, I mounted the P100 on a tripod and shot the clips one right after the other.

In iMovie 09, I slapped the two clips together and added titles. To export it from iMovie 09 I used the:

    Share>Export Movie...>HD option.

Then using the standard up loaders for You Tube and Flickr tossed them on-line.

  • Hi, I'm from Italy. On italian Nikon website is written that P100 makes full HD movies @30fps, how can you make your clip @240fps? Is it a different version of the camera?

  • @giugo Same camera. The P100 can do different video setting via the menus.

  • I'm looking for a good super-zoom camera right now...I was thinking of getting the SX1IS bit it's a bit too expensive...I hope this camera won't have the high iso problems, shooting speed, etc. of the P90.And one question.Does it have RAW ?

  • @mouzata No RAW this time around.

  • The camera is a lot of fun! Because I work for Nikon I can get new stuff a bit earlier than normal.

  • Really nice, how do u find this camera ??

    thanks

  • The first part.. the HD part is at normal speed. The second part was captured at 240 fps and played back at 30 fps... so you are seeing it at 1/8 speed.

  • How far did you slow it down. It would be nice to see it stretched from 240 to 30 fps.
