I tried enabling revenue sharing on my most popular video.
It took about a month for the YouTube staff to reply.
The told me that I "have not provided adequate documentation that you have the necessary rights to commercially use all the video material and music, or"
Yup, they didn't even finish the sentence.
Now.. I do of course have right to everything in my video. The MIDI-file was free, and I recorded the video myself. :(
I only make spoofs that get very few views overall(a couple of hundred views max), and I only use audio I find here and there on the internet (for example, I might record a bit of south park and make a spoof using the video of some movie or game) but STILL I got an e-mail from youtube saying my ACCOUNT might be fit for this....wha?

@zombi1222 Video games are a hard one to understand, if you can or can not make money off them. I really wish I understood that grey area. I would love to do some video game play too. I applied when I had 600 Subscribers and around 300,000 total views and I was refused but then I re-applied and was accepted when I had 700 subscribers and 600,000 total views. I've heard others getting with less.

Yes, I made an account yesterday and received an e-mail back and said my Adsense account was approved. I looked at my Adsense account just now, and it shows I have $7.78 in my account. Wow, wasn't expecting so much at first. So, I guess that makes me a partner??
@dirttrackin280h It doesn't make you a partner with YT, it means you are Revenue Sharing with YT on that one video. When you become a full partner then you can turn Revenue Sharing on and off on any video on your channel. :)

Do you have to be a partner to have the in-stream ads? Like the ads that are like 15-30 seconds long. Or can you have it in your videos when Youtube approves the revenue sharing.

I could have had my billions if I didn't claim copyright against myself. It asked me on one video, which has now over 12,000 views (therefore good enough to make at least 1 million) 'is there video in the clip?' (Something like that). I put 'yes' because I was talking in front of the camera, therefore it is logical there is 'video in the clip', whoops! Youtube then refused....

I have a video I put on here on Thursday night and it's Sunday now, and it's already over 3100 hits, and I got an email from YouTube inviting me to apply for rev sharing. @TheYvonnelowe Maybe they will only let one version of a video to get RS, maybe his was accepted first and rejected the second version of it... maybe. Or your nephew's video will eventually get rejected once the computers have figured out that it's copy righted material, I'm not sure.
Help, I have an 11 year old daugher who's been offered revenue sharing on three videos in past two months. Unfortunately she was rejeceted with the same generic message. @TheYvonnelowe The YT computer system sees the video getting lots of views and asks your if you want to RS but when it got reviewed they realized that you are using other peoples material/song lyrics. That is a copy right problem. If she created her own song and was asked by YT to RS then she would be making money. :)
@totallydubbed Start deleting the copy righted videos. The ones that you don't own the content. You can't take pictures off the internet and use them in your videos. There are lots of people that share their original music on YT you just have to find them. nathanwillsmusic(dot)com lets people use his music for free.

I applied for the YTPP and was denied because I do not own the domain for my YT channel. Then 2 wks ago YT actually invited me to the YTPP through one of my popular video's. I followed the link in the email from YT and got the same message about not owning the domain for my YT Channel. In the same email it listed instructions and also said that if you were invited just follow the link and you would not need to own the domain. I am stuck in a cycle because I applied early before I was invited.
@MrsJennMarie Hey JennMarie, there's a difference between the Revenue Sharing Program and YTPP.
Revenue Sharing is when YT wants to make money with you on a popular video, YTPP is when you apply to YTPP and YT allows you to revenue share any or all of your videos. Also you get to make a banner for the top of your channel and the ability to create your own Thumbnails to represent your videos.
my recent video "How to Draw a Birthday Cake" was asked by YouTube to enable revenue sharing when it only had 200 views in 3 days lol. They approved it, lol. Now I've applied for full partnership
I have revenue sharing on a video on another account (that'd I'd prefer not to connect to this one lol)...and well after 50,000 views and 2 months I've only made 22 dollars.
If you don't mind me asking, and if we may talk at length for a moment (even if in a PM) did you apply for it or get an e-mail recommending you do it? I got an e-mail telling me to do so, and it was for THAT particular video.
I've yet to apply for a partnership which seems separate. More money there given I make more vids?
@thesacredcowtipper It's not how many videos have revenue sharing, it's how many people watch or click on the ads that are on those videos. I'm a partner and have well over 100 videos with revenue sharing and I'm not making a lot of money, not at all.
@KBDProductionsTV I always click the ads off. I find them annoying. I dont' want to take away from my message inmy videos to make a little bit of money on the side. If you don't mind me asking, if 100 vids are on revenue share, are you even making $500 a month from it?

But it's all about how many people watch the videos, not how many videos you have in the revenue sharing program. I'll say it again... I'm a partner and have 115 videos with revenue sharing and I'm NOT making $500.00/month.

@thearter12 Yes, the AD will go on automatically. To check your revenue, you have to sign in to AdSense and check your account. Don't forget to subscribe to people how help you out. :)

I'm not sure if you mentioned that in order to get paid the viewer actually has to click on the add. Only then will you receive money. If the viewer actually buys what is in the add you receive more. Great video by the way. I also have been contacted and am waiting to hear back from them.
@KBDProductionsTV Yeah same happened to me. If your video has anything in it that is not personally your like the background music for example. They can place an add next to your video without your consent. You will not be paid for it. You do have the rite to remove the video or make changes to it to make it acceptably yours.
The application means shit. i got 1 at 1,000 views, but you still need to fill the requirements. For example you cant have ever filmed a website without permission. Just cause you get the application DOES NOT mean you can be a partner in 2 seconds.

Thanks for the info.. I was invited for revenue sharing for one of my vids.. but it had only 3000 views..Now my question is how many subs, views and videos i need to have to get to be you tube partner for all my vids... Currently I have 350 subscribers, 58 videos and 50,000 (total video views)..Do you think I should apply for partnership and what are my chances of success...

Do you have to be a partner to have the in-stream ads? Like the ads that are like 15-30 seconds long. Or can you have it in your videos when Youtube approves the revenue sharing.

@Chicken2701 You could try clicking the revenue sharing button but I think they will not let you collect revenue. It has to be 100% yours.

I could have had my billions if I didn't claim copyright against myself. It asked me on one video, which has now over 12,000 views (therefore good enough to make at least 1 million) 'is there video in the clip?' (Something like that). I put 'yes' because I was talking in front of the camera, therefore it is logical there is 'video in the clip', whoops! Youtube then refused....

And that's my story how I lost the my so called 'National Lottery' google ticket ;) I told a few youtubers about this and they laughed saying, 'you didn't claim copyright against yourself did you...?hahahahaha!'

I have a video I put on here on Thursday night and it's Sunday now, and it's already over 3100 hits, and I got an email from YouTube inviting me to apply for rev sharing. Thank you for responding. i'm still confused because YT offered my daughter and nephew RS on the same video because they both uploaded the video. The video has "other peoples material/song lyrics and he got RS on the video and my daughter was rejected. Once again thank you. Oh and by the way I did sub and I really like your video.

@TheYvonnelowe Maybe they will only let one version of a video to get RS, maybe his was accepted first and rejected the second version of it... maybe. Or your nephew's video will eventually get rejected once the computers have figured out that it's copy righted material, I'm not sure.

Help, I have an 11 year old daugher who's been offered revenue sharing on three videos in past two months. Unfortunately she was rejeceted with the same generic message. Her channel is Marceyxlovee, can you offer suggetions on what to say and not to say or how to contact youtube which seems virtually impossible. Please she is devastated. Thanks.

@TheYvonnelowe The YT computer system sees the video getting lots of views and asks your if you want to RS but when it got reviewed they realized that you are using other peoples material/song lyrics. That is a copy right problem. If she created her own song and was asked by YT to RS then she would be making money. :)

Just wondering:
I have almost 1M views, 30k channel views, over 330 videos, 1.2k Subs.
Each time I apply for YT partnership or even after YT sent me a revenue sharing email, I get rejected.
YTPP - I get rejected based upon 2 strikes I have on my account. 1 of which isn't even proven
RS - I got rejected on copyrighted material (had 10seconds of a song intro, then a review)
Any suggestions on what I can do?

@totallydubbed Start deleting the copy righted videos. The ones that you don't own the content. You can't take pictures off the internet and use them in your videos. There are lots of people that share their original music on YT you just have to find them. nathanwillsmusic(dot)com lets people use his music for free.

I applied for the YTPP and was denied because I do not own the domain for my YT channel. Then 2 wks ago YT actually invited me to the YTPP through one of my popular video's. I followed the link in the email from YT and got the same message about not owning the domain for my YT Channel. In the same email it listed instructions and also said that if you were invited just follow the link and you would not need to own the domain. I am stuck in a cycle because I applied early before I was invited.

@MrsJennMarie Hey JennMarie, there's a difference between the Revenue Sharing Program and YTPP.
Revenue Sharing is when YT wants to make money with you on a popular video, YTPP is when you apply to YTPP and YT allows you to revenue share any or all of your videos. Also you get to make a banner for the top of your channel and the ability to create your own Thumbnails to represent your videos.

I have revenue sharing on a video on another account (that'd I'd prefer not to connect to this one lol)...and well after 50,000 views and 2 months I've only made 22 dollars.
If you don't mind me asking, and if we may talk at length for a moment (even if in a PM) did you apply for it or get an e-mail recommending you do it? I got an e-mail telling me to do so, and it was for THAT particular video.
I've yet to apply for a partnership which seems separate. More money there given I make more vids?

@thesacredcowtipper It's not how many videos have revenue sharing, it's how many people watch or click on the ads that are on those videos. I'm a partner and have well over 100 videos with revenue sharing and I'm not making a lot of money, not at all.

But it's all about how many people watch the videos, not how many videos you have in the revenue sharing program. I'll say it again... I'm a partner and have 115 videos with revenue sharing and I'm NOT making $500.00/month.

You will need your password to access your account if you are approved for partnership.
There should be an option to find or replace your password.

@thearter12 Yes, the AD will go on automatically. To check your revenue, you have to sign in to AdSense and check your account. Don't forget to subscribe to people how help you out. :)

Because they started placing adds on the 2 videos they asked me about I thought that was all there was to it. Guess I was wrong?

I'm not sure if you mentioned that in order to get paid the viewer actually has to click on the add. Only then will you receive money. If the viewer actually buys what is in the add you receive more. Great video by the way. I also have been contacted and am waiting to hear back from them.

@KBDProductionsTV Yeah same happened to me. If your video has anything in it that is not personally your like the background music for example. They can place an add next to your video without your consent. You will not be paid for it. You do have the rite to remove the video or make changes to it to make it acceptably yours.

The application means shit. i got 1 at 1,000 views, but you still need to fill the requirements. For example you cant have ever filmed a website without permission. Just cause you get the application DOES NOT mean you can be a partner in 2 seconds.
