  • Superb! TY for posting

  • Good as a gigolo, not opera singer.

  • It's clear the pop has gotten to him. So much fucking portamento and needlessly milking notes. Under all that glossy sheen, the guy probably has a great voice. No doubt much better than all the other singers the classical crossover genre has given us.

  • THE MORE IGNORANT (MY FATHER USED TO SAY) THE MORE OPINIONATED!

THIS IS ITALY IN THE RENAISSANCE PEOPLE!!! BY LAW PROSTITUTES WERE REQUIRED TO BARE THEIR BREAST IN ORDER TO BE EASILY RECOGNIZED!!! DO I NEED TO TELL YOU THIS IS AN ORGY? THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT VERDI AND HIS LIBRETIST INTENDED FOR THIS OPERA!!! WAS NOT THE DUKE OF MANTUA A DEGENERATE?

DAVID MILLER IS A GREAT VIRTUOSO!!!

  • RSTO ES UNA AUTÉNTICA VERGÜENZA. Y NO LO DIGO POR LA PUESTA EN ESCENA, QUE YA ESTAMOS ACOSTUMBRADOS A ESTOS MONTAJES, SINO POR LA HORRIBLE INTERPRETACIÓN del divo, Y LO PONGO EN DIMINUTIVO, PORQUE ESTO ES LO QUE ES CÓMO CANTANTE : diminuto,diminuto----

  • not one note on pitch!

  • WTF? He can't sing!

  • Imagine Pavarotti in that outfit!

  • @Feisenbach I'd rather not! LOL

  • che cane!

  • Bellos medios y agudos, grabes mediocres.... Un lirico-ligero sin duda, porque cantando rigoletto??

  • Maybe this production was supposed to be a kind of Caligula in ancient Rome thing, with the Duke running around semi naked, but in 1500s Mantua no duke would be so undressed with all his courtiers around him with ready swords, especially Ceprano whose wife was getting seduced.

  • Talentoso

  • he sings beautifully.

  • Rule 34: now in available in opera.

  • I wish I were a famous singer.........

  • Its pronounced DEFT not DEATH

  • mi amooooooooooooooooooooooorrrrrrrr

  • Lacks emotion. And what's with the pitiful costume? The designer should be fired...

  • David is thin, not built...if you look closely that is makeup to enhance his physical build. Many people do it so, it appears he has six pac abs and a define body...he by in no means not bad to look at all...

  • probably women like him for other matters... but the voice and Italian diction are quite bad...!

  • @gaemp You are quite incorrect. David Milller apperared at Michigan Opera Theatre at age 24 to sing Des Grieux in Manon. At the time, David DiChiera, the General Director at MOT, and I spoke and he felt David had one of the most beautiful young tenor voices he had heard in many years. He invited him back next year to sing Lenski and would have had him back many more times had his career not taken a different direction with Il Divo.

  • @gaemp The voice is bad? Are you death?

  • @vanessa4u4evr DEATH..?!? wath language is this..? Apart from your English, probably you never listened to real Opera singers... buy some good disc and try to learn something.

  • I remember David Miller at 24 (1998) singing Des Grieux in Manon in Detroit and coming back a year later with the Billy Idol blonde hair to sing Lenski in Eugene Onegin. He was definitely a tenor to watch out for then and it shocks people now who only know him from Il Divo that he once was a "legitimate" singer. This recording here gives ample evidence of his easy unforced top in his youth.

  • @kmillard and in il divo he's not legitimate? good for him i say...he's famous and rich and he can go back to opera if he wants to...his voice grew a lot in the past couple of years...coming from a family with musicians, this business is really hard...so the il divo guys were really lucky to get that chance...

  • @lovelyspin19 I put "legitimate" in quotes to note my sarcasm. I happen to love opera but I don't make value judgments about what is "legitimate" and what is not.

  • @kmillard I can't believe you're trashing Il Divo. Some people. I just don't get it. And I bet you can't sing a lick. Couldn't if your life depended on it.

  • @vanessa4u4evr What did I say???? And I've sung for years and years. Have a masters in voice and have appeared in close to probably 100 operatic productions and have sung several dozen comprimario roles. Mayne not Jussi Bjoerling territory and all, but I've done above average.

  • stile orrendo, canto dilettantesco ,vergogna !

  • well...... that's sexy....

  • My God! Is there anything this handsome young hunk of man cant sing? Gorgeous!

  • CHE FIGO !!!! I LOVE HIM TOO

  • mucha encuerez y poco talento musical

  • I've always liked his singing, even more so in 'legit' opera like this. Of course we had the same teacher in college (a couple years apart) so perhaps I'm biased :)

This looks like the production in Pittsburgh a number of years ago...I'm guessing it was around 2000? I saw his Romeo back in those days...awesome!

  • Very good. Bravo!

  • uyyyyy q cuerpo tan deliiiiii.........

  • guys...c'mon maannn... it's just an act on stage that's all... nobody is perfect.

  • its not just an act on stage.... its supposed to be art. Pavarotti was pretty damn perfect.

  • yeah..you're right. its an art...

  • His singing is awful???

  • of course it isn´t awful!... he´s singing damn good!

  • He's definitely a hunk, but his singing is awful!

  • @schaunard1

excuse me? Just because it may not be your personal choice - can you make that perfected, beautiful sound come from your vocal cords?

  • @YetAnotherGateFan I think his voice is too light for a Verdian role, so he pushes a lot and the sound comes from the throat.

  • wtf....

  • sorry sis... but U should go back to your group and sing ITS RAINING MEN... or something alike

but manly roles are not for you girl .... lol

If you really want to do opera... try O mio Babbino caro hahahahaah

it might fits your personality better

  • he's a duke or duchess? he's ridicule, his voice is white. poor liric opera.

  • For this production all women are alike to the Duke. Of course he is queer.

  • Where does this production come from?

  • WOW!

  • thats right in this opera the girls are almost always like this topless o naked so well this how the opera is made so dont judge it, is a piece of perfect art

  • You make it sound as if a little modification like skin censorship is an absolute insult to the opera.

With the up-most respect, one must remember that there are people who find it a bit innapropriate to have nude dancers in an opera production. While I'm not saying that it's the one right thing to do, I am saying, why not simply make it so that everyone feels comfortable; everyone would feel comfortable with women wearing something like a white t-shirt underneith the costume, right?

  • (and let's not worry about "authenticity." Modifications of a historic/geographic scene (like covering up nude) to fit the social appropriation of the current time-period/location is not unheard of).

  • up-most respect? you are disrespecting spelling roght now

  • I don't think your comeback struck me hard enough (what would is a comeback that focused more on the point at hand).

Would you like to try again?

  • oh no no, your mistaken, i didn't want to "strike" you hard, i just wanted to point out your spelling of UTMOST. i could not care less about whatever point your trying to make

  • However, you wouldn't have "pointed out my spelling" had I made a point that you didn't disagree with. You saw my post as something of a challenge and/or an annoying insult against what your opinion is and decided to respond back sarcastically, using the spelling/grammar error comeback that many youtube debaters use when they couldn't come up with soemthing clever to say in return .

  • Here's another reason why I believe you were trying to getback at my post. You yourselfmade several spelling AND grammatical errors, so what's your point in pointing out the single one that I made? If it was only spelling that you were after, you wouldn't have tactlessly made those same mistakes yourself. That tactlessness told me that something I said provoked you.

    You get where I'm going?

As my older friend once advised, if you couldnt finish a petty argument, don't start it to begin with. ;)

  • lol dont be silly, you could be right for all i care, maybe your point is as strong and solid as points get, i dont know or care. i just found your mispelling funny, laughable. let it go. go start a controversy with someone at your level

  • With the UPMOST respect, friend, I wasn't the one who started this conversation because I was provoked to respond.

  • Wow, are you serious??

And what is the plot to this opera exactly?

  • Well, here the Duke tells an adviser called Borsa that every woman is the the same to him, and that he prefers another one every day.

'In my heart all are equally cherished/ Ev'ry thought of exclusion within me I smother/ None is dearer to me than another/ In their turn for each I would die'

So yeah, I think this fits the opera.

  • David is awesome singing this role, and he has such a great body.I don't understand why people get so bent out of shape over a bit of skin.

  • nice boy !

  • i dont like the singers of today, but he has a nice voice and the duke is a role almost every tenor sings at some point. i feel like he could have done much better if maybe the whole production didnt draw attention away from the music and singing. its lost all of its focus and if it hadnt, he probably would have done a better job and been more conscious of his singing.

  • no voice,shows body..thats all...

  • I love him, he's so hot!

  • never mind the boobies....david is sooooooo sexy THUD

  • Mmm...

  • WOW.........

  • his voice is to light for rigoletto, this was as someone said...weird

  • Good looking and sings ok. Nothing else.

  • he is so hot!!!!

  • he's the best!!

    David I love U!!!!

  • Daaaaaaaaavey ^^

  • thats awesome. david is a stud vocally and with the ladies.

    sweet

  • This is a bedroom scene in the act so they are quite well dressed for it. Besides you are supposed to be focusing on the singing. Nothing wrong with a little skin showing. He is quite well built

  • "Nothing wrong with a little skin showing."

Definitely so when the singer acts like a slutty pimp/whore in front of the audience. You have to ask, why are so many people's focus diverged from the singing in the first place?

  • relly whats up with you? what do people have against showing his chest?

    GROSS AS!

  • I want to be one of the girls at 1:23!

  • OMG David Miller is so talentuous...THX a million times for sharing this brilliant video!!!!

I'm ag reat fan of Mister Miller and I think his voice is perfect for Verdi or others "classicals".

  • Hey Bridge - thanks for always posting your vids for us too. At least operb**** used the correct code name. All IL Divo fans know our guys can sing. We may have a favorite one but we all pretty much like them all and we know what they can do. This just proves it. Thanks for your comment for all of us to read.

  • this guy should ONLY be singing POP MUSIC! VERDI IS THROWING UP RIGHT NOW! his voice is the size of a pea!

  • You really think so? The sound isn't great on the video, a bit tinny with both voices but I think you can still tell the quality of his voice. Perhaps you need your hearing checked out. If you want to see/hear a crap singer/actor trying to do opera just watch the self posted videos of that Eric bloke.

  • thks a lot for share this awesome video!!!!! god...we love opera....hehe....

    and we love mr miller....

  • Thanks for posting!

    He's great in that outfit!

  • Wow!!! Thank you sooooo much! Great, fantastic video!!!Amazing Davide!
