The math is good. The problem is that old trick where 1 +1 = 3
You can not tell what populations will be without factoring in other things like food or water. If you live in a town in the desert and there is no water then population cant grow. Applied as in this series doubling time is just voodoo math.
Sorry, for the negative comment but as applied your town would soon have a population of the planet. The implied message (intended or not) is that we must do something about over population.
