As for who sponsored it a man named Skausen and his wife were the hosts. He's an author and economics professor. It cost about $1,000 apiece to attend the general event and we also paid to go to three special events. They also get paid by the people who put up booths in the exhibit hall e.g. lots of booths were selling silver coins others were selling financial advice. This was a rich crowd of entrepreneurs and businessmen. There were some trolling prostitutes around for that reason.
Hi Deborah, I've been a blue collar worker all my life. Some bosses share the wealth, some don't. Governments never do. Governments take wealth. And we don't live in a Democracy because the founders of America thought of the mob as another tyranny. We have a Republic, or did, that protects minorities, or is supposed to, from the will of the majority and/or a minority of oligarchs. It's not working.
I just got back from a FreedomFest Convention in Las Vegas. 2500 Libertarians. Fascinating!
@debwal LOL. Yes, there were some real characters there, but we did notice that as a group they were in better physical shape and better dressed than the general population, especially the women. That was interesting and pleasant to observe at the cocktail parties.
@Maiyanna - Hi! I definitely relate to feeling overwhelmed by all the problems in this world. Getting re-activated and being around like-minded activists has helped a lot. I have a tiny shred of hope.

Correction, that would be $1,000 for the two of us, dad and I.

@mcgrawtim123 - Hi Tim. Glad you had fun in Vegas.
Do you know who sponsored that "freedomfest" convention? (Personally, I've never met a Libertarian who wasn't half off their nut).

@mcgrawtim123 - OH--the subject matter (investments) and cost of the event probably ties-in with well dressed people.

I admire your tenacity. Truthfully, I feel it's hopeless.
