@Kailoa36 On other pieces I might agree, but here you are wrong... there is a lot of the Rhapsody in here... Basically if you know the piece, and if you know Debussy, you will have no trouble understanding "what" in the style of "who" is this piece...
I cannot believe he's improvising...this is not improvising, it's more like writing another piece, and instantly...he's a genius porca troia è un mostro!!!!
That's not really a fair analogy. Debussy developed his music largely toward the end of the 19th century and would later influence much of early and especially modern jazz harmony. Gershwin was a quasi-jazz songwriter in the beggining of the 20th century who would broaden his perspective to ultimate include influences like Debussy in his compositions.

@Kailoa36 i disagree - there is a lot of motives from Rapsody, even if they are hidden in Debussy's style :]

Gotta disagree, it's not "raw" talent, it is refined talent, developed over many decades. And I love it.

I couldn't believe first, but Gershwin and Debussy harmonize very well.
shadowrun45 2 years ago
Both are, more or less impressionists, though Gershwin is more radically 'jazzy', but even Debussy uses 'jazzy' chourds, as did Ravel.
