You know, I was a '90s raver and I always thought that the media was terribly biased about raves, but I have to admit that there really were terrible problems with raves. I always knew that the drugs were killing the movement. We could have done so much more if it hadn't been for the drugs. I can't really blame the authorities.
i have to agree i mean there were ridiculous open sales of e and acid and someone but real ravers who knew what was up kept it chill. i'd party sober more than flipped or whatever. these sensationalist media reports made dumb kids who just wanted to do drugs come to them, dealers come to supply them, creating this horrible feedback loop/self fulfilling property. You can't say drugs weren't part of the scene though... i didn't "Get it" until at my third party I ate some really nice molly
