Pinecrest is nice, but I would suggest Clarks Fork about an hour east. And NEVER would I advise hiking the eastern edge of Pinecrest in early morning or evening. There is quite a few cougars in the rocks. We've seen prints for years but saw our first mountain lion in 2009.

Mountain Lions are all over Tuolumne County. They've been spotted in Twain Harte, On Phoenix Laze, and even downtown Sonora just to name a few spots

Thanks for sharing. Can you tell me what campgrounds and site # you used? The lake is beautiful and looks like the fam had a great time!

@fleado8 I forgot the exact site # but we were on the "D" loop campground, the closest section to the lake :) We were lucky to get an excellent spot so we were very near the lake!

@hmng2piano nah we didn't get car sick. Probably after a few minutes before reaching the campgrounds since the road got winding. Aye, Pacific Islander xD

@hmng2piano the entire trip (including day of arrival and day of departure back home) was about 3 days. The drive took around 3 hours from the Bay Area.

Wonderful video! Pinecrest has to be a wonderful camping spot indeed... with that nice lake, a hiking path all around, boating, fishing...it has everything! Oh, did you guys go watch at the amphitheater?

@wgjpinoy654 Yea, it's me and my family's favorite place to go for camping. Oh yea, we did but on the last evening. They were playing Shrek, i forgot what kind was it though since we snuck in the back to watch the last 30 minutes of it.

I want to put my feet in the water!!! I bet it is COLD!!! What a beautiful Lake!!! Camping looks like fun... food, music, friends and family, walking the dogs, boating, and twilight time and evening time by the fire...

@54spiritedwill54 Camping is fun. I went one time with my family in the past to a lake nearby. It was a lot of fun, and I really did enjoy it. The outdoors, and nature all around.
