I love drums and I love music, but I don't have a drum kit, I have to pay and rent a studio to record my videos. A lot of people think that I have the best drums in the world, but the drums in my videos aren't mine.
And when I see something like this, I agree, this guy must love drums as well, but you know... It's hard to watch a video like this.
I really don't know how to explain this feeling, but I think most you know what I am talking about. ..
wait another second...."THIS IS FAR FROM STUPID"..... here's a man with a passion for drums.. some spend money on cars... some kids spend their parents money on video games.. This guy invested in a dream...I've personally spoken to John... he loves what he does..GOD BLESS YOU BUDDY.......
I remeber listening to a Bonham tuned Ludwig Acrylic, and Wood at the same location, at the same time. Ive never thought seriously about Acrylic since. Id like more info i guess. Where?
on a scale of 1 to 10 how good do you honestly think your kit sounds compared to other drum companies, im thinking abotu going acrylic but have no experience
Acrylic is 30% louder than wood. With the right drumheads on and tuning, it's hard to tell that they aren't wood. They sound amazing when done right. RCI starlight shells are top notch, better than vistalite. They have the power to make maple/birch drums sound like little toys.
@VerdiKtagrad Don't get behind yourself, that's false. My RCI with aquarian super-2 have blown averyone away. The super-2 anhance the midrange, and sound better than most wood drums. MORE power, CLEANER tone and plenty of warmth. Makes a DW kit sound like a toy. So ypur comments about wood always sounding better are total rubbish.
@VerdiKtagrad That's totally false, and illogical. Acrylic tranmists sound 30% more efficiently than wood, especially plies and glue. You are totally wrong, in every possible way.
@VerdiKtagrad You are totally wrong, in every possible way. Acrylic transmits sound 30% more efficiently than wood, especially plies and glue. Impact energy travels through an acrylic quicker as well. The rigidity of the material means that it doesn't vibrate as loosely in the midband as wood, but it does so with overall greater energy. Please, get a physics education before you speak again and make yourself look like a total fool (and a myopic wood snob).
@VerdiKtagrad Wood is dryer. Resonance is a matter of tuning and vibration of the drum heads synthesizing with eachother, it depends what sound you like. You have no way of proving that wood resonates more than acrylic. That is such a poor thing to say, very unproffesional.
@VerdiKtagrad You must love yourself. You have made a total ass of yourself in front of everyone that reads this. You are little more than an ignorant troll and a wood snob. You posted here to cry your eyes out that YOU think wood sounds better, and to purge your bile. Your staggering lack of understanding of drums and materials are where bad internet information comes from. Ignorance is bliss, and I know you are very happy.
@Acrylicdrums I agree. But in defense of wood drums. You just cant get a warmer sound. My favorite acrylic drum album is Primus The Brown album. Shake hands with beef kills. They are perfect for that heavy bass driven music. Cut like a knife through all the overtones.
@emaculate You have that backwards bro...Acrylic drums are Britte and loud period...The sound can only be tweaked by changing heads, that's it. They are a one trick pony....And very fragile when dropped prone to cracking around the hardware.
Wood materials give you all kinds of sounds without a head put on them...They can also be layered & combined giving even more sound variety without a head installed.
@JBL8863 you must not have read my comment. i said in defense of wood. they have a warmer sound. The only thing i said about acrylics is that i liked the way they sounded on the brown album. when i said i agreed with the dude i was talking about how loud acrylics are. But thanks for trying to tell me about drums.

LOL...I remember having an 11 pc kit drums only followed by 10 cymbals...The set was bigger than I needed and never left my basement until I sold it.
After I sold the set my brother told me I was a drum collected and I agreed with him, I couldn't stop buying and adding on stuff every week.
I now have a 5 pc kit with 4 cymbals...Does the job and is very easy to move around.
Don't hate people for having drum sets larger than life, this is obsessive disorder building a kit this big.

So how long did it take to pay off the second mortgage you had to put on your house to buy that drum set?

@Acrylicdrums Don't get ahead of yourself good wood drums always sound better then acrylic. Acrylic drums sound airy and drier.
