Recently a friend that I am working on a website for decided to have a new website. The white pages wants $2000.00 dollars for their Domain name. Some people are so filled with greed.

Mysql is a database provider (similar to SQLlite, Acsess(well acsess is the program, JET is the database engine)) and a database is used to store data, be it username and passwords, then the program takes that data and does what it wants with it.

basically its where the website stores the information (login details, views etc)

When installing online services like Forums, Vshare or Gamer applications like DKPmod for Guild webpages they will ask you to enter the name of the database for storage. It's easier than you might think.. Most things take you through a setup that explains things very clear.

how much space do you need?

depends, you can limit the size of videos uploaded. think of how many videos may be put on and how big. standard is 100mb
