  • my mom was just watching this and I scared her.. but the thing is, when she turned around, she was in tears!! great video too!!! 5 stars!

  • I love the look on Merry's face at 0:44! Lol!

  • <3

  • Galadriel !! I love you !! you are an angel

  • Celtic Woman is an all-female musical ensemble conceived and assembled by Sharon Browne and David Downes, a former musical director of the Irish stage show Riverdance. In 2004, he recruited five Irish female musicians who had not previously performed together: vocalists Chloë Agnew, Órla Fallon, Lisa Kelly and Méav Ní Mhaolchatha, and fiddler Máiréad Nesbitt, and shaped them into the first lineup of the group that he named Celtic Woman.

  • Downes chose a repertoire that would range from traditional Celtic tunes to modern songs.

  • The group's lineup has changed over the years; in 2009, the group consisted of Chloë Agnew, Lynn Hilary, Lisa Kelly, Alex Sharpe and fiddler Máiréad Nesbitt; Alex Sharpe left the group in May 2010. Five albums have been released under the name "Celtic Woman": Celtic Woman, Celtic Woman: A Christmas Celebration, Celtic Woman: A New Journey, Celtic Woman: The Greatest Journey, and Celtic Woman: Songs from the Heart.

  • The group has undertaken a number of world tours. Cumulatively, albums by Celtic Woman have sold over 6 million records worldwide.

  • The foundation for Celtic music's popularity outside Ireland and Europe was built by tapping into the success of artists such as Enya and Clannad, along with stage shows Riverdance and Lord of the Dance. Celtic Woman has been described as being "Riverdance for the voice."

  • Very nice video! Good job really, I love it!!! Congrats! Greetings!

  • hi dose any one know this song called?

  • @111icestorm111 It's ''The Voice'' of Lisa from the celtic woman

  • @Demsterwold thank you very much :)

  • The voice by Celtic women

  • Very good video! :)

  • Why does everyone feel the need to tack music or a song onto these videos?

Why is there a video about a horrible piece of MLP fanfiction in the sidebar?

  • Full name of the song, please? Thanks. :)

  • @DonDinasAirey The Voice i think

    :)

  • .........This made my day ^_^

  • wow................................ LOVED IT!

  • In this video you can see Galadriel's ring. It was partly through its power that Lothlorien was protected. There were 3 elven rings. Galdalf had one, given to him by Cirdan the shipwright. Elrond had the third ring.

  • ... but Morgoth, Sauron's predecessor, was a Vala.

  • Sauron was also Maia.

Wikipedia not reliable? Nonsense. What have you checked it against? Someone TOLD you it wasn't reliable.

  • Just so we're all clear te wizards (Istari) Gandalf, Saruman, Radhagast, Alatar, and Pollando, are Maiar. They were sent by the Valar to Middle Earth in the year 1000 of the third age to council the free peoples against Sauron. They could not confront sauron directly and took colors as their ranks in order of: White, Grey, Brown, and Blue. BUT THEY ARE MAIAR!!!

  • Wikipedia? for all you know Snooki could have written that, it's the most unreliable source

  • I love it! I totally agree that LOTR goes well with Celtic music (though I'll watch the others too). I was actually thinking of making a vid with a song by Enya. I love this music though. So beautiful.

  • somehow Galadriel's face and her raiment reminds me of Vadar and the Valar, the Queen of Stars in my imagination :)

  • Sometimes like a great tree in flower, sometimes like a white daffadowndilly, small and slender like. Hard as di'monds, soft as moonlight. Warm as sunlight, cold as frost in the stars. Proud and far-off as a snow-mountain, and as merry as any lass I ever saw with daisies in her hair in springtime...

  • So, I love this video <3

  • This song really fits Galadriel.

  • Can someone translate this for me? - Hir En Cor - Btw. its Sindarin

    Namárië

  • Awww, you put Lisa Kelly from Celtic Woman on with The Voice for Galadriel :)

I was expecting to be listening to LOTR soundtrack and got Celtic Woman. Lovely surprise :D

    Great work!

  • What a great video, this song definitely fits in the relationship with Galadriel and the fellowship.

  • There's a great deal in various appendices regarding how the istari work, a decent summary of this with references can be found in the wikipedia. There is some speculation that Gandalf wasn't merely maiar, but actually one of the high Valar (Manwe, I believe). This explains all of the absolutely perfect coincidences throughout the story. But this speculation is rooted in a letter by Tolkien, which he later denied. So who knows =)

  • this song is amazing. I remember it was sung by somebody else and won the eurovision songcontest 1996 eimar quinn...truly fantastic ... and LOTR the best i ever read..

  • for everyone talking about the Istari here, check out the book Unfinished Tales. There is an entire chapter that pretty much lays out everything you need to know about the Istari.

  • "Frodo, your coming to us is as the footsteps of doom. You bring great evil here, Ringbearer."

Yeesh, she's making it sounds like Frodo's tryin' to destroy all of Arda. @__@ It's not like he went right along with the murder of who even knowshow many innocent people so he could have a realm for himself *cough*Galadriel did*cough*It's in the SIlmarillion*cough*

  • @Serena2009 Galadriel was referring to the fact that he bore the One Ring (it is evil as it contains a good deal of the will of Sauron). And as he is being hunted by Sauron and all his agents, their eyes will once again turn towards the golden wood. Where else can he have gone after fleeing Moria where he could be so completely hidden from the Eye.

  • @GunnySGT1911

That's basically my point. Where else COULD he have gone? But even Lothlorien couldn't hide him completely from the eye; it was just the safest place to go.

  • like Galadriel, it is, as she herself said, beautiful and terrible as the morning, and that's true. She is beautiful, but again are even ring wearer of the ring and can Nenya the temptation itself is only very slightly.

Sorry again for my awful english

  • why do you have to have this crap music?

  • The Shire, ( New Zealand ) all Hobbits home.

The story must be finnished so it must have a beggining so travel haste back home Hobbits Sir Peter deams it so.

  • To be fair, although Tolkien undoubtedly drew inspiration from Anglo-Saxon and Celtic myths and folklore, the main inspiration for the story was actually World War 1.

  • Sice ani jednomu z vás nerozumím, ale tenhle song je prostě krásný :)

  • Love uuu galadril

  • Fascinating comments. I am learning the CS Lewis way, contemporary and colleague of Tolkein (I always write JK Rowling when I attempt to put his initials!) Absolutely love elves and the purity of the Celtic voice. Irish history. The pre-Christian deities are of beautiful origin and quite a story to follow - gentle, noble, light beings teaching music and song and arts, forest dwellers.

    Respect guys.

  • @ChamuelNada

Actually, Tolkien hated Celtic mythology. XD Ironically, people tend to read about the Elves and automatically think of Celtic stuff. Tolkien actually based his Elves (and many of his stories) on Scandinavian people and their myths.

  • @Serena2009ification mostly anglo saxons and a mythology for England as he was english

  • 1:28 YEAH ROXX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! xd

  • I have often thought they might be Maiar, but there are too many things that bother me.Treebeard mentions that the Wizards came over with the Kings of Men, so why is there no mention of them in the Last Alliance? Elrond gives his history, and Gandalf says that Elrond was there. The "Order?" when G casts out Saruman?..If he was Maiar, why was he "upgraded" to White? All that feels as if the Wizards are advanced mortals. Finally, when does a Maiar have to go back to Valinor on a ship? Melian didnt

  • Well, Feanorielle, I consider myself a bit of LOTR phile, and have re-read The Hobbit, LOTR, and the Silmarillion many multiple times since the early 70's, and I have never run across anything specific re the origins of the Wizards. In the Appendix of the the LOTR, it specifically says that no one knew where they came from. I can, however, grant that the High Elves knew. I could be wrong, and if you might tell me the book and page, I'll check it out.

  • @MrReed314

The Wizards are the Istari and according to Wikipedia they are indeed Maiar but of a lesser degree.

  • @CuteGallifreyian there is an entire chapter in the unfinished tales book about the wizards/istari. there are maiar that came from Valinor in Third Age 1000 when the first shadow of Sauron in mirkwood. there were five, first came the white messenger saruman, and last of all came one who appeared the least, the grey messenger, but Cirdan divined in him the greatest spirit, equal to Sauron but forbidden to reveal his full power, and gave him Narya, the ring of fire.

  • @CuteGallifreyian the Istari were sent to middle earth to help the people.

Saruman was first but he fell under Saurons infulence and forgothis task.

the second two that came to ME (dresst in blue) went to the east with Saruman butonly he came back.

one drest in brown got so interested in the wild and animals that he forgot his task as well.

Gandalf was the last and weakest of the wizard sent to middle earth.

the wizards are all Maiar but in human form (meaning they are insanely weaker )

  • @Ladypurpulhair No offence... But I believe you should recheck your lore. I could be mistaken, but I do believe that Gandalf (Orlorin) was second to Saruman in wisdom and his power over the unseen. Their human appearance did not seem to lessen their power or abilities. Gandalf stood up to and defeated (at the cost of his own mortal life) a balrog ( a corrupted and fallen Maiar, but not weakened other than the fact that they could no longer assume a beautiful form).

  • @GunnySGT1911 Gandalf was the last of the istari wizards but he was the only one that stayed true to his mission and thos he was "promoted" (after he died ) to the white wizard (if you can say that)

yes there human form dit weaken them but that said they weren't defenseless.

  • @CuteGallifreyian

I could be really wrong but I thought the Istari were Maiar but lost some of their power when they came to the world?

  • @CuteGallifreyian According to Wikipedia?, that's not a valid source...

  • @CuteGallifreyian

    lol nerds

  • @CuteGallifreyian Gandalf was mentioned in Silmarillion as Olorin in Valaquenta. He describres himself with the same name in LOTR in second book(retrospection from a cnversation in Minas Arnor)

  • @MrReed314

Look up the passage where Gandalf is re-united with what remains of the Fellowship. He identifies himself as Olorin, who is mentioned in the Silmarillion as a Maia and a student of Nienna and Irmo. There may or may not be a passage towards the end, where it talks about Frodo and the Ring, where he (and possibly Saruman, but don't remember) are also identified....don't quote me on that last one, though. XD But as CuteG said, the Wizards are indeed Maia and the Istari.

  • @MrReed314 Oh my, I didn't notice your reply. I'm very sorry. The identification between Istari and Maiar is found in Unfinished Tales if my memory serves me right, and in HoME series. Pardon me if my tone wasn't polite back then during the original discussion.

  • @MrReed314 I am sure I read somewhere (and not on wikipedia but in some tolkien's work) that the wizards are something like Maiar, sent by Eru to fix the whole thing up, but as they arrived in middle earth they lost the memory of their identity (otherwise it would have been so simple to kickass sauron). anyway, who cares? it is not a good thing to know everything about middle earth... silmarillion for me is not much more that a big spoiler... I think that tolkien knew what to do, ->

  • @MrReed314 -> and if he decided not to publish some of his works there were a reason. his son is messing everything up...

  • @MrReed314

Check out "Unfinished Tales: The Lost Lore of Middle-Earth." It is a collection of stuff that Tolkien never put into book form. Part 4;Chapter 2 is an essay on the origins of the Istari.

  • @MrReed314

Check out "Unfinished Tales: The Lost Lore of Middle-Earth." It is a collection of stuff that Tolkien never put into book form. Part 4;Chapter 2 is an essay on the origins of the Istari.

  • @MrReed314 It is written in the "Unfinished Tales", that they were Maiar who came from Valinor. The Valar send them to help the Elves and Men. They were, Olorin (Galdalf), Curumo (Saruman), Aiwendil (Radagast) and Alatar and Pallando (the 2 unnamed blue Wizards who went in the East)...

  • @MrReed314 Gandalf, Saruman, Radhagast, Anatar, and Pollando were the five Istari, maiar (gods of a lesser degree) who were sent to Middle Earth in the year 1,000 T.A. to help the free peoples fight Sauron. They were clad in the form of aged men and their rank was signified by colour (White, Grey, Brown & Blue in that order). They were forbidden to comfrot Sauron directly and could only use their wisdom and power to help the free peoples not rule over them.

  • @Matthewcoakley08 so which is more powerful white or blue? When gandalf ventured out to the heavens for a thousand years he came back in time retaining the powers acquired in his travels. While Galadriel glows white then blue once tempted by the ring. Remember Gandalf the grey "yes that was my name" "I am gandalf the white"

  • @Wowaniac Well firstly Galadriel is not a Istar nor a Maiar she's an elf, a Noldo elf, one of the Eldar. But within the ranks of the Istari White is the most powerful, followed by Grey, then brown, and the two blue wizards were equal in rank. And I missspelled one of their names it's Alatar not Anatar. Anatar was one of Sauron's names and Alatar was one of the blue wizards. And I don't remember Gandalf going off into heaven.

  • @MrReed314

You can find some more information about the Istari (wizards) in UNFINISHED TALES - I don't know if your edition is the same as mine (unlikely), but look at the penultimate chapter "The Istari", where you can find a bit more about Olórin ;)

  • @MrReed314 Lol, a bunch of retards arguing over pure fiction. Reminds me of religious pricks debating whether Jesus was killed on a cross or an upright pole.

  • @MrReed314

    Its in the Silmarillion.

  • To Hellvard:

Gandalf and Saruman were not Maiar, where the 5 Wizards came from is not mentioned in the Sillmarian. Presumably they came from Nu'menor..The only Maiar to ever haved lived in Middle Earth were Sauron and Melian,-Thingol's wife and mother to Luthien.

  • @MrReed314 No, the wizards were Maiar sent to help Middle-Earth by the Valar. It's basic LotR lore. If you don't believe every single LotR wiki, read Unfinished Tales. ;) And there is no way for us to know how many maiar lived in Middle-Earth.

  • @MrReed314 Yes they are mate. Read the Sillmarillian. Gandalf was the Maiar Olorin a servant of Manwe and a student of Este. Saruman was a Maiar student of Aule the Smith just as Sauron had been. They did not come from Numenor Numenor was destroyed almost two thousand years before they even came to middle Earth in the year 1000 of the third age of the sun and moon.

  • I love elves. my ears are slightly pointed at the end for some strange reason.

  • At 0:44 , their faces LoL....but when Galadriel and Celeborn enter, wow

  • @666Angi yeah . pippin is like "what the -"

  • Frodo is a WIMP ;)

  • Galadriel is the most powerful individual on Middle Earth other then Sauron. Her grandfather was Finwe, one of the original first 3 elves, and she was born in Aman, The Blessed Rhelm, the homeland of the elves. And the older the elf, the more powerful they are. Aman is where they return when they sail into the west. Only 3 mortals have ever been allowed on Aman, Frodo and Bilbo are 2 of them.

  • trop beau

  • 0:49 wow 2:14 awesome! 2:27 beautiful *-* 2:36 , i love this last smile :)

great video, wonderful song, beautiful and divine Galadriel!

  • its the voice by celtic women

  • Celtic Women is very appropriate for LoTR especially for this character. Good job!

  • the voice is the the song

it won the eurovison for ireland in 1996

  • Great video! I agree with you, this music is much better for LOTR videos. :)

  • wonderful

  • One thing that annoyed me about the elves was that they liked to knock the humans and claim that the fall of Middle Earth was going to be their fault, yet they did next to nothing to help in the war of the rings.

They might be declining and leaving Middle-Earth, but Galadriel was one of the most powerful beings left in the world. Surely she could have killed a few orcs for the fellowship?

  • @Rtyeta Actually, the fall of Middle Earth was in many ways the elves' fault, and they knew it.

She had her own battles to fight, and she did more than kill "a few orcs". Lothlorien and the kingdom nearby in Mirkwood were attacked three times during the war. Finally, they attacked Sauron's base in Mirkwood, and Galadriel herself destroyed it, showing her power. You just don't hear much about the battles in the North.

  • Anyone noticed Celeborn is rarely given much notice in the movies? The books too only commented on him a few times maybe, wonder why Galadriel got so much more attention? The one scene comes to mind where Galadriel is pictured approaching but Celeborn's face and most of his body is hidden, they could just as easily have focused on both their faces... :P

  • watch?v=wNkC371hJig - The Best Fairy Artist EVER!

  • beautiful song by celtic woman......nice scenes from the best movie ever...

  • Galadriel is very evil witch, im glad that Frodo didnt gave her the ring.

  • ...maybe she got weaker and left, but she remained what she was and so she is still here, and all of us stupid yrch can hope for a better future. thanks for that!

  • nice video and music. What's the song?

  • The Voice of Celtic Woman.

  • My thoughts at the end of the video:

"... Wow ... that was powerful"

but srsly, that was very good. however imho speeding up wasn't really that necessary ... nvm, great job))

  • BEAUTIFUL

  • Ooh, very cool! Although some of the sped up parts did come off a little awkwardly fast; personally I'd have rather seen a few less clips or shorter fragments in some places, but overall, very nice!

  • wow this video is amazing :)

  • 2 things,

    1= i love it.

2= 1 april is my birthsday XD :D

  • get your own elfstarsign

watch my vid or search for

    Petra Maria Scheid at amazon

  • I love this song...and Galadriel's such an ambiguous character in LotR. She's gorgeous, she's one of the oldest Elves still living, she's pure but she's kinda sinister.

    Lovely video :D

  • @SilaVendethiel

And not to mention that she did not need her brothers aid during the Eldar days despite being the youngest! Well, she's part Maiar and High Elf, immortal and near invincible.

  • Part Maiar? Where did you come up with this? Finarfin and Earwen were pure elves..

  • @HymanKaplan

Oops, my bad. I got her mixed up with Luthien..lol!

  • galadriel is anything but sinister, i can only think that you are recalling when the one ring tempts her, thats not really galadriel as the ring brang the worst of her to the surface and she still beat it back.

  • @millitantatheist1 I know what you mean, but there is that level in her of mystery: you're not sure whether she will take the Ring or not until she conquers that evil. She's like Saruman, only she won over the Ring's power, if you get me.

  • @millitantatheist1

Well, to be fair, she ~did~ have a bit of a dark, flaming past which Tolkien fans have always downplayed. She wasn't ~all~ sweetness and light.

  • @millitantatheist1 no that was not the worst part of her, I think it's the true sembiance of a Light Elf. such an ancient and powerful elf like galadriel can't just look like a simple human... she lived in the light of the plants in the land of gods... woaah... surely tolkien loved weed

  • @millitantatheist1 The ring tested her as it earlier tested Gandlaf the Grey. She passed as did Gandalf.

  • @dragonfoe; what did Gandalf say when he was tempted?

  • @olafvisser He said "Get thee behind me, Golum!! And then refused the ring from Frodo. :-)

  • @millitantatheist1 She was still perished in the first place.

  • Reminds me of Roar...

  • Brilliant video. Cate Blanchett did such a wonderful job as Galadriel. These movies won't ever be forgotten.

  • I love this song and I know celtic woman did this song but what I want to know is which album it came from. Thanks.

  • Album's called "Celtic Woman:A New Journey"

  • Great edition and beatifull selection.

    Tanks for the video.

  • what is the orginal name of this song then guys

help me cause this is so good & nice

  • It is simply called The Voice and is by Celtic Woman

  • Ahh yes. Thought I recognised Hayley Westenra there.

  • @bayensmike You mean Lisa Kelly.

  • Hayley Westenra joined in 2007. Lisa Kelly left the group in 2008 when she got pregnant. I could be mistaken but... I really thought I recognised Hayley here.

  • @bayensmike I believe Hayley Westenra just joined for that one tour they did... she's not a regular part of the group. Stunning voice, but you can definitely tell the difference from Hayley and Lisa. Lisa sings The Voice, the song in this video. Look up Hayley Westenra and you'll hear the difference. I looked up the website to find the current members :) Lisa Kelly, Chloe Agnew, Lynn Hilary, and Alex Sharpe are the singers in the group as of now.

  • Comment removed

  • @CuteGallifreyian More specifically, it said Lisa Kelly sings from the Celtic Woman

    Sry for my awful english

  • Jeeze.. I had this one on my playlist while I were reading, suddenly Galadriel's voice said: Frooodoo !

I could'nt figure out where it came from x'D It scared me a bit. haha !

  • she wanted It

she wanted the Ring and had the power to command It

what a wicked struggle between her, Frodo, and Opportunity...

  • where can I find the lyrics to this song?

  • dark eyed boy :)

  • Niceee, five stars!!

  • that song is amazing :o why have I never heard it before? beautiful!

  • @3662825 Celtic Woman are so freaking good.

  • She is so beautiful and cute.

  • You are a gift!

Thank you so much for this vision and music.

  • Brilliant! The song fits her character well! I'd love if Ireland won the Eurovision again! :D

  • it is super i like this song and lord of the rings

  • Ah, one of my favorite songs from A new Journey Celtic Women :) Very fitting

  • in spite of all her majesty, her sorcery, her power, her serene & unearthly beauty, some gazes of her eyes tell that Galadriel has sense of humor

  • mmm yesssssss

  • i love the elves and all and i think Galadriel is cool and stuff but her smile sometimes is soooo creepy it is like i know your most darkest and embarrassing secret

  • I just have to comment on a few things that nearly caused me to have a seizure

    Galadriel is NOT a witch

Galadriel is not more powerful then Sauron. He's a Maia, she's a Noldo. No matter how powerful she is that fundemental difference remains.

Nenya is not the strongest elven ring. According to the Silmarillion, Vilya is.

  • wel, she is a good witch, being a witch is for my queens a compliment, please get a look at my channel XD

  • Great video and I loved the song as well.

  • There are a few out there, both done by Tolkien and other authors (just need to know where to find them), I've read a quite few of them (plus both my Dad and Step-Dad are avided LOTR fans, so we get into long discussions about the history of Middle Earth. Very interesting when its the three of us, lol), that's why I know so much about them... 'sigh' wish the HSC was on LORT, I would so pass.

  • is galadriel elrons wife?

  • No, Galadriel isn't Elronds Wife. She is the wife of Celeborn, the blond man (elf) who was walking beside her when the company first met her.

Elrond wife is however Galadriel's and Celeborn's Daughter, Celebrian. But she has already left for the West before the books and movies started and that's why we never hear of her. So yeah.

  • ty for the reply. forgive thy n00bness. i pound my bow for thee. :D

  • Oh its ok. My Dad started reading the books to me when I was about six, so all the information about the characters have sort of stayed with me, so yeah. Anyway it was no problem, alot of people think that Galadriel is Elrond's wife, it actually makes perfect sense really, both owning rings and all, but anyway, lol.

  • that means that Galadriel is Elrond's mother in law and Arwen's grandmother?

  • Yup, that's right. Its says so several times in the fellowship of the ring (Book, not movie) and Elrond whole family history as well as Aragorn's and Arwen's full backgroud story are in the Appendices which are usually at the back of Return of the King (don't hold me to this). Arwen's and Aragorns story is well worth reading because you get to find out how they met and why they fell in love and so on, that and you get to read about Aragorn being a lovesick twenty year, which is very cute, lol.

  • oh..God,,i understand..there should be thousands of books like this...describing the history of Middle Earth..

  • Correct.

  • @Nonniemayrox

No. ElronD( SEE THE D) marries galadriel's daughter, Celebrian. So, she is his Mother-in -law.

  • maravillosos vid y voz..

  • Isnt this .. song sang by celtic woman?

  • bring me your peace
