@deanbright1 The SCX10 has a metal chassis. A great and very informative site I would encourage you check out is rccrawler d.o.t. com.  I am a member of the forum and have found a ton of useful information in there. Another local club I am a member of is WARCRC d.o.t. org / forum. There is a lot of great info in there too, but it's got only a fraction of the members of what rccrawlers has simply because it's a small group of local guys. Whereas rcc is international.

@deanbright1 Got it in a trade. However, the only original Tamiya part left on this truck is the body. Everything else is either custom made by me or an after market upgrade.

@snowmaninhell2000 Also the High Lift is a lot more expensive and not nearly as capable as the SCX10. But you can fit a F350 on a SCX10. You should look thru rpphobby dot com and store.rc4wd dot com. Tons of parts and goodies to drool over. I have bought from both and definitely recommend either of them.

@deanbright1 No problem. You can do a ton of mods to the SCX10 and make it as totally unique as you want or run it stock and still have a very capable truck. And replacement parts are pretty inexpensive too. My F350 was my first scaler. So, you don't have to be an expert when it comes to building one of these. Good luck man!

@deanbright1 Just so you know, my truck is a scaler. A great starter scaler if the Axial Honcho otherwise known as an SCX10. They come ready to run, which is ready to run out of the box, or almost ready to run, which you'll have to supply the radio and battery.

If you want a crawler I'd recommend an Axial AX10. However, I'm not into crawlers as it's a whole different world than scalers.

Axial makes great trucks that are great for beginners to intermediate RCs.

@iam4god2day Thank you for the props! No. The frame is a JunFac billet aluminum chassis. Every single part on this truck is either custom made by myself or aftermarket upgrade. The only original Tamiya part on it is the body.

@lilj2shots Last place...lol. The comps I attend are geared more for crawlers, not trail trucks. The courses are pretty rugged, which four link suspensions do much better on than straight axle trucks. However, I the guys are great and I have a lot of fun out there.

@fernando3482 I brazed, nit welded, 3/16" brake line to make the cage. I also brazed 1/4" solid rod to make the rock sliders and rear bumper.

@TheAriel256 The chassis is JunFac's conversion lift kit for the Tamiya F350. Unfortunately JunFac has stopped making it for the F350. But they do still show the kit on their site. I like the unique look of it and it has a ton of pre-drilled and tapped 3mm holes making customizing it super easy. You may be able to find one on Ebay.

@zach4995 I didn't like it. It wasn't realistic enough for me. Over the last year i have replaced every single stock part on it except the hard body. I just recently put the stock parts back together and now have a rolling chassis.

It did take me many hours to get this truck where it is today. I don't know exactly how many, but I know with all the customizations and scale accessories I've made it's easily over 200 hours. And I'm still not done. LOL.

@StangrockaSVT Thanks for the kind words. I brazed 3/16" galvanized brake line to make the roof rack and interior cage.. I highly recommend getting the brake line without the dark green coating. It will need to be removed before brazing and it's a major pain to strip it off. You'll need to remove the galvanization as well, but it comes right off with medium course sand paper. I made the rear bumper and rock sliders out of 1/4" solid rod. l had to remove the mill scale off of those too.
