@deanbright1 The SCX10 has a metal chassis. A great and very informative site I would encourage you check out is rccrawler d.o.t. com. I am a member of the forum and have found a ton of useful information in there. Another local club I am a member of is WARCRC d.o.t. org / forum. There is a lot of great info in there too, but it's got only a fraction of the members of what rccrawlers has simply because it's a small group of local guys. Whereas rcc is international.
@deanbright1 Got it in a trade. However, the only original Tamiya part left on this truck is the body. Everything else is either custom made by me or an after market upgrade.
@snowmaninhell2000 Also the High Lift is a lot more expensive and not nearly as capable as the SCX10. But you can fit a F350 on a SCX10. You should look thru rpphobby dot com and store.rc4wd dot com. Tons of parts and goodies to drool over. I have bought from both and definitely recommend either of them.
thanks for advice im looking for more of a trail rig sorta thing i like the scx10 trail honcho i was looking into that one so i will see where it goes.
@deanbright1 No problem. You can do a ton of mods to the SCX10 and make it as totally unique as you want or run it stock and still have a very capable truck. And replacement parts are pretty inexpensive too. My F350 was my first scaler. So, you don't have to be an expert when it comes to building one of these. Good luck man!
@deanbright1 Just so you know, my truck is a scaler. A great starter scaler if the Axial Honcho otherwise known as an SCX10. They come ready to run, which is ready to run out of the box, or almost ready to run, which you'll have to supply the radio and battery.
If you want a crawler I'd recommend an Axial AX10. However, I'm not into crawlers as it's a whole different world than scalers.
Axial makes great trucks that are great for beginners to intermediate RCs.
@yboben I have redone a fer things on the truck since this video. So no the cab fits snuggly over the dash and interior roll cage. The bed is secured to body posts near the back of the cab in the bed.
Wow that is amazing man!!! Where did u get the truck itself ? I'm interested in doing something like you, cause I live around a lot of field and some rocky creeks and ravines! So let me know because I am super interested in doing something like u
is the frame the one that comes with this truck?? I got to say this is a fine work of art and playtime mech! ,, love the detail , i think I am going to get into yhis myself , did you start out with the stock tamiya??
@iam4god2day Thank you for the props! No. The frame is a JunFac billet aluminum chassis. Every single part on this truck is either custom made by myself or aftermarket upgrade. The only original Tamiya part on it is the body.
@wildrupp15 Awesome. This is what it's all about for me. Help spark some new ideas. When I started this I could find very many others who where doing the amount of scale detail that i wanted to do. So I just had to use my imagination and create. So, if my truck build helped you out then I am totally stoked.
Good luck on your build and most of all...have fun!
@skidooracer9999 I am just finishing up a new body. I left the hood on, but cut an opening for the motor. I'll have a video of my progress that I'll post up in the next couple of weeks.
@TheTranfan Yes it is AC/DC. It's "For those about to rock". Believe it or not it's YouTube that put that in the page and says it's Twilight Trio. Go figure.
AMAZING! Now to all the noobs that stumbled across this video, this guy is like Bruce Lee in his prime. No joke, his talent is off the charts. Also this hobby is BIG bucks, to buy something like this would cost you $1000+, to make it around $750. Snowman you are a perfect artist to show what the hobby is all about second to none.

Hey bubby, nice truck. Can I ask you a simple question, where can I buy one of those. Do you have a particular link, Did you buy it through internet. Would you be so kind to give a hand. Appresiate
@toyika007 My truck is one of a kind. I bought a lot of the parts from RC4WD dot com. I have also made many of the parts on it. It's not a kit you can but in the store or off the Internet.
@lilj2shots Last place...lol. The comps I attend are geared more for crawlers, not trail trucks. The courses are pretty rugged, which four link suspensions do much better on than straight axle trucks. However, I the guys are great and I have a lot of fun out there.

Wow this is soo cool! I am 13 and I am looking to buy my first RC rock crawler, I thought this was awesome and I wish I could buy one just like yours! I subscribed! PLEASE make another video of it! And you said something about a trailer? Can you do a little video to show how far you of it? Thanks soo much for sharing your truck with everyone and taking your time to make this video!
@07SGT1393 Thanks for the extremely nice compliment bro. Hopefully I'll have the trailer I'm working on done soon and I will post another video of it and the other stuff I've done soon.
@zach4995 I didn't like it. It wasn't realistic enough for me. Over the last year i have replaced every single stock part on it except the hard body. I just recently put the stock parts back together and now have a rolling chassis.
It did take me many hours to get this truck where it is today. I don't know exactly how many, but I know with all the customizations and scale accessories I've made it's easily over 200 hours. And I'm still not done. LOL.
@ScalerProductions I got The Parma V8 off Ebay. It cost me $70. Parma doesn't make them anymore. So, if you can find one it will cost you a pretty penny.
beautiful. My old lady calls ME obsessed. I'd thought about the brake line roll bar myself, for my LST, yeah, you could buy one, but makin it's half the fun! By the way, the exhaust, PRICELESS!

@StangrockaSVT Thanks for the kind words. I brazed 3/16" galvanized brake line to make the roof rack and interior cage.. I highly recommend getting the brake line without the dark green coating. It will need to be removed before brazing and it's a major pain to strip it off. You'll need to remove the galvanization as well, but it comes right off with medium course sand paper. I made the rear bumper and rock sliders out of 1/4" solid rod. l had to remove the mill scale off of those too.
