Isn't 2050 llong past peak? It will be difficult, if not impossible to keep up current economic and social activity when petroleum becomes untainable. Coal and natural gas wouldn't last long either. I really do hope RMI has the right idea but even if they do, I don't believe the industrial world has the political and social willpower to make the transition in these tough times.
