Psychologists and psychiatrists wouldn't be approving people for surgery if it wasn't real (and approval is needed, you can't get it without medical approval) .

And yes lgbt is not the only group that gets mistreated but it doesn't mean that they should stop fighting for rights just because someone else is mistreated. If anything getting people to move towards more openness and acceptance of one group will open the gateways for others.

It's like a double negative so we should be back at square one, only we're not because human psychology isn't as clear cut as computer logic! Plus, before watching this video I didn't even know transgender lesbians existed! I thought the whole point of the operation was to be what you felt like.

Although before doing some reading I thought homosexuality was unnatural, so one day I might understand this too.

People want to have their own lives to live. To be themselves. To be accepted for who they are, as they are. Why would people want to live a lie? Or to only be a certain way in order to bow to societies expectations, or to belong to some social clique, or movement, or anything?
What's wrong with being ourselves? I love you. It takes great courage to be yourself. To come out from behind the walls. Each and every person here has the same capacity to live life as they really are. Let's cherish it.

Secondly, gender and sexuality are different. If a man is gay does that mean he wants to be a girl? No. So why would my desire to be a girl mean I want to date boys?
Thirdly, asking someone about their penis and breasts and things like that is incredibly offensive. Would you do that to someone in person?

While I can understand grishno's feelings about the first comment, I like the fact that you didn't elevate it into an angry retort. I think it shows that people on both sides do have the capacity for wanting to achieve some human understanding. And I think that's what I see here, and it's good to see that. You obviously want to get at the deeper meaning to life.

Grishno is a WOMAN. No matter what. She is as female as any woman walking down the street. She just happens to have been assigned the wrong gender's body. And, She is handling that remarkably well.
Transvestites are men who identify as male, but who chose to dress and emulate women because they enjoy it. Not because they are a woman trapped in a man's body.
