Actually, Master Hirokazu Kanazawa - of whom Mick Randall was a student and friend - relates a story in his biography 'Kanazawa: 10th Dan' where an American boxer challenges him to a fight after watching him teach his students these very techniques. So as not to humiliate the challenger, Kanazawa accepts on the condition that it is not done in front of his students. Needless to say, Master Kanazawa defeated the boxer so well that he never heard from him again.
Have you noticed how hard he comes out of stance after punch?? This is exactly what Bruce Lee was talking about! You drive yourself into position where you can not escape from counter attack cuz you drop deep and can not react adequately! This techinics was good for ancient warriors like samurais waring body armor made of bamboo! Nowdays this is too slow, too unefficent, and too dangerous! Any good boxer can kick ass of that type karate man!
