  • The last time he goes under the water, where he comes up immediately, was one of the hardest things ever for me to watch. I just wish I could've given him a big hug back in the OK Computer days. Sadly I wasn't born until 1998. I feel so ignorant.

  • no surprises is NOT a miserable sounding tune!

  • no surprises sounds so creepy sped up

  • Quiet whores of Murdock hes showing how long he can hold his breath for and making you two look like c##nts in the process, sorry

  • ah, the SKY News bit.... fantastic, she didnt even get the song title right. SKY news is just a shitter FOX news isnt it, Im looking at you Adam Bolton

  • Kay, we hope that you choke...

    ...on cake

  • Comment removed

  • the no surprises video takes bit is the most claustrophobic-panic thing i've ever seen. hard to watch it.

  • Thom Yorke subjected himself to water torture for the sake of his music. A true musician.

  • "How he does it, I have no idea!"

It's called 'holding your breath' ya fuckin' moron.

  • Seriously WHAT IS THAT SONG AT 4:00?!

  • music to cut your wrists to? well, i'd be more than happy to buy you a razor.

  • Why are so many fucking people divs? They just diminish music as art.

  • loving the whole green man debate at 5:00

  • Well of fucking course you don't want it at a fucking first birthday party you fucking slag! Ughh It's people like her that probably like Lady Shit-hole more than actual artist!

  • The very first time I ever listened to No Surprises I thought it was a lovely, cheery tune, but wow, sped up No Surprises is the happiest thing I've ever listened to

  • Kay Burley must die....

  • "Again music to slit your wrists to"

    Fucking cunt.

  • Clearly those people on Sky have lived with grotesque ideas of what makes a good song, digesting the easy-to-swallow commercial "music" of brit pop, (I don't want to point fingers at anyone) but they see something like this and all they can do is to make fun of it they don't see the innovation or the true emotional experiences and values it has.

  • Oh, so Kay Burley was always that stupid.

  • Wow, I want to slap that woman

  • where can you find wanderer/nomad song?

I can't seem to find it on any music sights

  • : I'm A Big Fan Of Radiohead, And If Someone Wants To Know Where They Got Most Of The Songs For This Film Are In The Record "The Kid A Theory".

Greetings To All Who Loves This Band As Much As I Do :)

  • wow the people in in the beginning of htis segment make me want to never want to watch TV again

  • I hope that one day that medias bitch will choke on the food she eats while being filmed.

  • her job slowly kills her

  • what is this song???? at the 4:00

  • thats what I wanna know, sooooooo nice a chill sounding

  • climb up the walls with an extra long intro....

  • i have a very strong urge to cur that daft bitch's wrists, the clueless moron

  • Maybe if she'd have actually taken time to LISTEN to the song she wouldn't have been so flippant about it. It is certainly not "music to slit your wrists to."

  • stupid dumb bitch!

  • lmao i love how the lady says its music to cut your wrists to when no surprises is like the most positive sounding song on the album

  • lol the people at sky are talking absolute shite. especially the bitch at the end eating cake. :D

  • TV puppets, corp slaves, mindless advs pleasers- got rid of the telly a year and LIVE my life to the full:)

  • i like how they start playing the no surprises video, and then all of a sudden you here a lady go "again, music to cut your wrists to" lol super funny

  • damn that was risky but i loved his reactions

  • Comment removed

  • People at Sky are arseholes.

"Uh, it's the most miserable sounding music I've ever heard!"

And then they say he drowns at the end of the video, which he doesn't.

  • what's the song at 4:20 ?

  • a jam/demo we will never hear : (

    I wish I knew, it's awesome

  • It's paranoid android, I think..... the "rain down" part but played slowly

  • i wonder if ed and colin are about to smoke a joint at 4:44 lol

  • those morning show people really are something else

  • is thom insane with the no surprises video could of killed himself and then we would have never gotten in rainbows lmao.

  • 3:22 should have been on the video. its too depressing

  • The "No Surprises" video shoot looks like it was the most physically taxing shoot of all time... That must have sucked.

  • hey look they play a very very early blueprint of "knives out" here like at 4:28 :D

  • The morning show is my favorite scene in the movie. They completely freak out over the video because they dont understand it. 3:20-27...........there really arent words to describe it.

  • Hey hey come down here a little bit...someone is taking this film too seriously i see...i've been listening and follow them since the beginning, when they were almost nothing, and of course now they are what they are. And they fucking deserve it. However, I would never compare the 'suffering' of a band on tour with child poverty in the world..it's not an easy life indeed, but they have chosen it. As far as I can see, they are not denying anything of it. So what's the problem?

  • Well, I think that they didn't expect of what it will become. And they needed time to deal with it and to find a way to live with it. And I think that comparing it to child poverty in the world is pointless, because when you're down, you are alone with that and it is the biggest problem which doesn't let you look further.

  • I fell in love with "No Surprises" when I was about 15. It's like a lullaby that sooths every problem in my life.

  • 1.06 - stupid bitch.

oh and he doesn't die at the end of it. dumb ass.

  • i think he was joking

  • i actually want to hunt that fucking women down. poor thom :(

  • jesus, how can people be like that towards music videos? they really didn't know how much effort went into making it work. absolute cockends!

  • No Surprises makes a good happy hardcore tune when it's sped up

  • 3:29 thom gets really angry at himself lol

  • man i lost it there. it's really really sad to me for some reason. i would have wept if it weren't for the humorous chipmunk no surprises that kept popping in

  • Well, I'm just over halfway through this documentary now, and it is probably the scariest thing I have ever seen. Sheds a lot of light on music I already thought I understood, and now there's a historical context. Although I knew the shape and the color of the piece between OK Computer and Kid A, now that the piece is fit into the puzzle, the pictures is much fuller.

  • one might say, like a jigsaw falling into place..

    sorry, I had to :)

  • god what IS THAT SONG THAT STARTS AT 4:00

  • Incidental music.

  • you mean it's just a little bit they played that has no name?

  • Yes my friend. I've got the AIRBAG/HOW AM I DRIVING? ep and it isn't one of the songs in the CD .

  • what the hell is it!? Iv been searching everywhere for it. Definately not "A reminder" but so amazing :( God i love this band.

  • I think its just the part in "Paranoid Android" when he's singing "From a great height" but i think one of the band members is just messing around with it on piano

  • Wrong chord sequence for that bit. Hmm. Its interesting though

  • Paulizdabest,

The song at 4 minutes in this video has never been released in studio but has two alternate working names and has been played twice live, both in soundcheck, once at the Rosebud Theatre in Pittsburgh in 1998 and once at Blossom Music Centre in Cleveland in 2001.

Scrap setlists from each concert show it being called the first time "Wanderer Song" and the 2nd time "Nomad Song" and is an instrumental over 4 minutes long. Hope that helps!

  • Thanks for the info, pal.

  • You are a God, how do you know this! I thought I was a fan :(

  • @slitheringinterstate This is just wrong, I'm sorry. This is, if anything, an early version of Knives Out. Same chords, key, and progression. Ed mentioned in his Kid A diary that Knives Out started off "much more mellow", which this is. Hope that helps!

  • Probably some early version of Knives Out in rhodes or something.

  • sorta similar, but sounds much cooler than Knives Out

  • @SimMaster sounds like an early instrumental sketch of Knives Out. Same key, almost exactly the same chord progression, and Ed wrote in the Kid A diary that Knives Out was originally much slower and "mellow".

  • @SimMaster its an early version of knives out.

  • i hate that fucking british bitch that say music to cut your wrist too...ugh..look now-a days damn emo music...haha

  • This is not fucking Windows Live Messenger. Go elsewhere to fuck yourselves. If you don't wanna talk about the video, then shut the hell up.

I'm sick of reading your shitty comments.

  • you think money solves everything. that's pathetic. you have a very narrow mind.

  • so you're whining about your problems, and therefore feel the need to whine about people who have a lot of money because they dont share your problems? You're a pussy.

  • you have problems. deal with yourself and stop taking it out on other people. All you're doing is spreading negativity.

  • oh yeah... nobody is allowed to criticize rock celebrities anymore. thats "spreading negativity." "spreading negativity" is wrong because the culture industry, the economy, its all going real well. grow another soul patch you fucking frat boy!

  • lol, you're trying to stereotype and you got it completely wrong. Are you saying to make the economy better we have to be negative? You're a dumb fuck and you're not making any sense. Change is a positive movement. Being pessimistic about everything only leaves you to be stagnant in yourself and further creates barriers between people and lessens the chance of people coming to a universal understanding of what needs to be done to make positive changes in the world

  • i'm not going to heed any advice that comes from a fucking RADIOHEAD fan who flunked out of poli-sci 100.

getting pissed off at whiney little culture industry bitches and economic titans is a good first step. positivity within the current socio-political matrix means nothing. it takes anger to rip it down and start from the zero degree.

  • You let your emotions control your judgement. That's a weak quality.

  • dude yr all about positivity i thought? aint that an emotion? aint radiohead just a bunch of whiney little bitches who started a stupid britpop band and this is a movie about them taking themselves way too seriously and letting their emotions get a hold of them.

i fucking hate frat boys. and stadium rock bands!

  • all you do is hate and hate. you're not willing to be open minded and learn something because right now all your opinions are assumptions. you'll probably live an unhappy life.

  • ok BUDDHA. jeez louise lighten up. all i was saying is that radiohead should stop bitching about having so much money and that if they really hate it so much they can feel free to pay off my student loans. yr the one thats having a hysterectomy.

  • they're not bitching about having money. In this movie they suffered through becoming an object of the media and loosing themselves in the process. Again, you didn't decide to actually watch the movie and learn something from it, you just got all bitchy because you made an assumption and didn't take the time to try and learn.

  • you've never been through what they've been through. How can you judge something you don't understand? You can't.

  • why dont you go fucking watch night and fog and then tell me about radiohead's "suffering"?

or watch some iranian women getting acid thrown in their face.

or just re-watch footage from the katrina disaster.

ive never been through those things, but i'm pretty sure no one came out with a bunch of awards, millions of dollars, a fan base, and a couple of grammies.

dont tell me about radiohead's "suffering." because this aint suffering.

  • your conception of suffering is limited to physical suffering. You cant tell somebody they shouldn't be suffering just because YOU dont believe they should. People are the way they are and your own opinions cant change that. You can't accept people for who they are probably because you cant accept yourself deep down. Like I said, it sounds like you have serious issues. Your hatred is stemming from somewhere.

  • my hatred is for capitalism and yuppies and stadium rock bands. where does my hatred stem from? from capitalism, yuppies, and stadium rock bands.

my conception of suffering is not limited to physical suffering. its just limited to ACTUAL suffering. having to look cool for the cameras is not suffering. radiohead shouldnt have signed to a major label if they thought so.

but seriously dude, turn off the fucking radiohead, watch night and fog and then watch this documentary again.

  • You don't understand them, so you say they're wrong. That is your problem.

  • no i understand them. i understand completely. radiohead have suffered more than anyone on the planet. they suffer so hard for the art to make with major label backing, commodifying the pain and alienation of their fans into a nice little product to consume. they suffer so much because they are famous it makes all other suffering some less interesting. its ok that they are self indulgent little babies, because hell, arent we all? they just have vaguely space-y james to back them up. you win.

  • oh, no you definitely win. You clearly have a very unsatisfying life so you'll need this little win for your ego.

  • bro thom yorke is on a level that your frustrated little faux intellectual ass will never be on. he's an artist. if you're going to say someone like elliott smith didn't suffer because he's not an iranian woman getting acid in the face, you're an irrational piece of shit and im surprised you haven't already killed yourself

  • Well, enough of you.

We all have seen you need a lot of attention, but this is not a chat room.

    Bye.

  • VERY TRUE!!! this post gave me goosebumps

  • i know doing interviews might be bad, but don't compare it to auchwitz mate, its tight.

  • Those news critics don't understand good taste.

  • music to cut your wrists to?

  • isnt that news team exactly the type of people that relate to fitter happier?

  • That music that starts around 4:03 has driven me mad for years now. I would love to have a complete recording of that piece.

  • it's prolly a side-b, but i agree i really want it

  • it almost sounds like paranoid android in a way, but now i want it xD

  • yeah man, youre right, thats fantastic

  • i think its a very early version of cymbal rush, from eraser. not sure, could be wrong, but the structure sounds like it.

  • to me it sounds more like Karma Police

  • 7:27

That grocery is a block away from my old school.

  • lol @ 3:22

  • fridge buzz ha

  • so crazy how angry thom gets on that last take, must suck to have such an amazing video idea, but have a hard time to execute

  • i think it's interesting/ironic that radiohead wrote a record preoccupied with the dissillusionment of 9-5 working life and then with the same record achieved a success that lead to their dissillusionment of the exact opposite: fame from being in a popular roc band

  • dumb cunt how does he drown.

  • No Surprises.

  • those sky tv people are fucking cunts, what idiots

and i really feel for thom when theyre filming the video, that would drive me insane

  • Sky TV is stupid.

  • That song at 4:20 - WHAT IS IT?! It's had me spellspound for years. Just a little sound check thing? Love it soooo much

  • It appears to be the intro of "A reminder", from the AIRBAG/HOW AM I DRIVING EP. But maybe it's just incidental music.

  • So Ed and Jonny smoke, and Jonny and Colin smoke weed and do shrooms? lol wow..

  • Ed and colin at the grammys went down to get the award on shrooms and apparently like Ed is the main experimental smoker

  • wow wtf LOL, how do you know

  • Well I rmr coming across it when I read this ed and colin high times interview lol

so I researched and there is loads of interviews about it actually

and one said at a show jonny was lighting a splif and getting high towards the end of a set

  • "music to cut your wrists by"!?!?! what a fool!!

  • DAMN, he gets so raged the last take.

  • I find it very ironic that an ad that features lyrics from "Fitter, Happier" in the subway.

  • creeps fridge buzz

  • wow i didnt know ed smokes lol

  • jonny smokes too! it makes me wonder...

  • him and colin smoke weed and do shrooms thats what I read

  • him and colin smoke weed and do shrooms thats what I read

  • i don't know, i just saw a picture where jonny smokes in a 2008 show

  • i wish that bitch news host would shut her fat mouth

  • i know exactly! "depressing music". jesus. doesn't make it bad. radiohead's music is absolutely amazing.

  • Yeah, the only thing that makes me want to slit my wrists about Radiohead is that there are still people like her who don't appreciate their genius!

  • there are always going to be people who imagine themselves as being cynical and witty, while they reveal themslves to be dimwitted and ignorant. lily allen is one of these people, recently saying radiohead were "setting a bad example" for people trying to get into the music industry. her dad's an actor with connections, fucking hypocrite.

  • yeah she said that on some quiz show.

she said how they let people choose the price of he album set a bad example. she immediately got shot down when the presenter said that album made more money than the last

    sit down lily

  • 5/5!
