can some one help me! I'm debating on buying that camera (not with my wife! :D) but then I think, why spending so much money and not even having a Full-Frame sensor? I doubt it beeing the right cam for me. Maybe I`m going with a 7D for now, and later I might get the 1Ds MK III. I would just love this cam for its wheater sealing. gosh, live is hard! ;)
there's the 500D(Rebel T1i) and 550D(Rebel T2i) and there's the 5D Mark IV and there's the 7D and so on ... the 1D is older than all of them if you compare the 1D Mark IV to any of the cameras below you will find that it's not the best !!
@TheMagma77 ok.... The 500d is no were near as good as the 1d, the 1d's are basically the top eos cameras canon have and the lowest eos is the 1000d, the 1d is dearer than the 7d and the 5d and the 500d and the 550d and the 450d and the 50d, so it must be better, go to canons actual site and you will see... id is top of the line!
@TheMagma77 Are you high? what are you doing commenting on this if you dont know anything about cameras? To the author: NICE 85mm f/1.2!!! you can earn a living with that lens alone pretty much...
@tbonestalone the 85L is pretty much one of my bread and butter lenses for shoots (fashion/editorial/commercial).. other bread and butter lenses in my case; 35L, 50L, 135L and the 200f2L IS.. got about a dozen more but these would be my most used ones..
@TheMagma77 1D Mark III is 4,000 and 1D Mark IV is 5,000, if you want more resolution, higher ISO and video recording, then you should go for the 1D Mark IV, if your not concerned about those 3 things, then go for the 1D Mark III.
@cubeproduktion actuaclly you are backwards the IV is 5 and the III is 7k. The III has 21 MP where the IV only has 16. 16 is the new professional standard.
@TemplarReturns I've been using this body recently at New York fashion week shooting runway shows and it performed spot on.. I've also shot a few sports events and it never missed a beat either.. so far very happy with its performance
thanks, so far been very happy with the upgrade.. and the 1D Mark IV sells like hot cakes in our store too ;)
the camera isn't just limited for sports, it performs excellent for many tasks from events, weddings to portraiture if you're after an all-rounder camera..
I'm still in the middle of writing up a review and testing but so far the AF feels better controlled and smoother vs 1D MKIII which felt bit twitchy to times.. both spot on though (I didn't have any issues with my 2x blue dots 1D MKIII)..
HD video quality is exceptional, especially in low light.. yes it still has some short comings being a DSLR but can be worked around in most situations.. already working on some music and promo vids together with the 5DMKII and RED system
is it worth the money i bet it is but ISO up to 128000 is just a gimmik, im just after the new focusing system and the 16mp for cropping. ask me if im jelous, well when i first heard it wow 16mp but then i realised there's some back drop cramming more pixel on a small sensor is some way good and bad. Thats just my opinion.
to be honest I wouldn't shoot @ ISO 102400 either (which is the max the camera can do now a days).. that said high ISO performance has been improved even though they crammed more pixels into the same size sensor and I feel convertible shooting up to ISO 6400.. and one up for the press (ISO 12800).. owning the previous 1D Mark III, I have noticed a definite improvement with my new 1D Mark IV in IQ and is well worth the upgrade
well spotted.. hehe.. this was the second take since I managed to bodge something up in the first take and left my secondary battery in to save on time, felt the video was long enough as it is..
I was not prepared for that 85L showing up!! Just awesome! I'm sitting here going alright! Then start hollering and laughing at the same time. Very nice job, thanks for posting!!
I do have large hands.. the box dimensions are almost the same except hight by about 2-3 cm shorter.. camera dimensions on the other hand are sill the same as the previous model
This guy has Shit load of money. I mean the cam and the L-lens!?
