  • Jim Carrey is better.

  • He should have done the Brave Little Toaster's soundtrack.

  • IT'S THE GUY FROM SPICE WORLD!

  • though it was funny its not that impressive, the chords are generic, compared to some of the jazz greats improvising amazing solo's on the spot this isnt that genius

  • @melobeatss it's a song about a damn oven, you can't make it more interesting than that in less than 10 seconds of preparation, give the man some credit.

  • What show is this? David Copperfield and Ozzy are there. Is Elton hosting?

  • It is staged the man who gives the oven manual is actor Richard E. Grant.

  • @basterista It is not staged. Elton is famous for writing songs on the spot--- see also his instant "Leon Russell" song on Elvis Costello's Spectacle...

  • Pretty cool. But am I the only one that thinks it was at least partially staged?

  • @jdhchang it's gotta be staged

  • 11 people listen to BrokeNcyde

  • Was the dude in the audience in Spice World?

  • Wow I had no idea Janet Reno was so talented!

  • Why is Ozzy Osbourne in the audience at 0:20?

  • @Nonapeptide oh my god HE IS LLLLOLLLL

  • @Nonapeptide he's a fan....

  • @Nonapeptide Forget Ozzy Osbourne, who in the world is that person with the large hair at 0:00. I would hate to sit behind him/her.

  • @Nonapeptide I think i saw David Copperfield, so the question is, why is he there?

  • @Nonapeptide Why wouldn't he be?

  • @Nonapeptide ha! that is ozzy! you can see sharon next to him at :55

  • @Nonapeptide almost eveyone in the audience is a celebrity, but i guess ozzy could be the only celeb kids can recognize from mtv

  • @Nonapeptide Holy shit it is!

  • Anyone else notice Lady Gaga in the first second of the video?

  • oh my god. The guy who give him the manual is the same guy who was the manager in the Spice World movie. xD

  • He got fat and his voice sucks now. :(

  • @63chicago6 I saw him live last week. He was amazing.

  • @63chicago6 he dead dumb ass

  • @zzirLUKE seriously dude, how can you be so stupid?

  • hi im troy maccure and you may remeber me from other shows such as my channel

  • he looks gay

  • @PawlOwl Not sure if trolling.

  • Kind of looks set up :(

  • Is that Ozzy Osbourne sitting behind the guy who brought his oven instructions?

...How did that guy get a better seat than Ozzy Osbourne?

  • @StCrowleyable its richard e grant :P crowd is full of famous people

  • @StCrowleyable It really is Ozzy :D

  • @StCrowleyable That's Richard E. Grant.

  • don't believe it

  • 2:03 boris becker chilling

  • Claudia Schiffer?

  • lol @ amanda Donahoe.

  • Whoah, Stephen Fry looks so young!

  • This seems like something Bo Burnham would have written.

  • back in the day when everyone was still older

  • that's some goddamn talent right there

  • I like how sharon and ozzy osbourne are sitting in the audience

  • Is that David Copperfield I see?

  • The look on his face at 1:21 was awesome. Holy shit, he actually did it....... and it doesnt suck.

  • There's a definite homage to Flanders and Swann here.

  • New album by Elton John, AGD&RTV Manuals, out now. Genius :)

  • That's Richard E. Grant doing the request

  • Hello Ozzy!

  • it took elton 10 seconds to make a song using an oven manual that is better than half the music getting cranked out today....

  • @moisabamf So true. And so sad...

  • @moisabamf bet he could make a song about friday that wouldn't blow

  • @moisabamf Only half?

  • @moisabamf It's called talent.

  • @moisabamf maybe half the music you hear on the radio, but I disagree with your statement

  • wtf is Ozzy doing behind that guy?

  • so cool!

  • @Dethklokso Holy shit I thought you were kidding. THAT IS OZZY

  • @ehhhhhhhhhh That audience, including the man who asked for the song, is 90% celebrities and their spouses.

  • @ehhhhhhhhhh No that is Richard E Grant.

  • @Rawnesss He's not referring to the guy giving the question I believe, if you look at 0:15 Ozzy is behind him to the left.

  • Too many awesome people in one room, where was this?

  • @ChevalierAguila

    'An Audience With Elton John'.

It was part of a series shown on British TV on the ITV channel where stars answered the questions of other stars. Lionel Ritchie also did it. Don't know if it is on Youtube though..

  • hmmm, the interaction between the two at the start seemed a little bit not legit. Wonder if this was planned... either way, still a very amusing song

  • @CrunchyNutKBar Watch him do the same Inside The Actors Studio and again he wrote a song on The Parkinso Show on the spur of the moment to lyrics he'd never seen that was so good that the host was actually laughing as he performed it he was so gob smacked. It's well known that he usually takes less than thirty minutes to even write his classics.

I can do the same imrpovising on the piano to any lyrics but I'm no Elton John because his melodies are simply the best...

  • mr john u r amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • If you can be given any random piece of text, something never intended to serve as the lyrics to a song and you can put music to it on-the-fly, you're entitled to some kudos I would say.

But then, he's definitely done his 10,000 hours and then some, it should not come as a big effort with all that work that he did before it already.

  • It's the guy who played the manager of The Spice Girls in their movie...

  • Darwin Mayflower?

  • withnail

  • david copperfield, ozzy osbourne, ovens and elton john?

  • @rakwar Too*

  • @rakwar *Too.

    FTFY.

  • 2:04 Black lady ".... The fuck are these crackers singin bout ovens fo?"

  • Comment removed

  • This is serious talent. Thanks for sharing!

  • Genius.. Bloody ovens..lol

  • GENIUS ahahahaha

  • Elton is a genius- yet so down to earth, funny, and willing to please people. at another event someone gave Elton a book and asked him to write a melody to it- and he did

  • 3 people only have a microwave

  • BTW Richard E Grant is an awesome actor

  • Hey Elton! I just bought a washing machine. I need a song :)

  • I liked his rock opera based on cleaning his Elekatralux Vacuum. Actually the manual words aren't much worse than Bernie's.

  • 3 people own a different brand oven

  • how can you dislike this?

  • Stephen Fry's there, too!

  • @bondfool Where's Stephen?

  • I saw OZZY !!!

  • The guy that got his oven back was pissed, he can't make a fool of elton!

  • anyone else think elton resembles former attorney general janet reno here?

  • In a lenguage like Spanish, which has much fewer short words than English, I guess it'd be virtually imposible, even for a consumated master as Elton John, to compose an "Oven" song on the spot. Still, a remarkable feat of composership.

  • who cares if hes gay, hes a great musician

  • :O

    I love his voice.

  • Elton John can turn anything into music

  • Elton Johns' coming to La Crosse Wisconsin next week! TO OUR TINY LITTLE CITY! I'm so excited!

  • That's pure experience. . . Once you've been playing the piano for 50 years like he has it's not that difficult, but still, he's also a genius.

  • creative genius

  • Why is ozzy osbourne in the audience?

  • @shorynot Because ozzy is a fan of Elton, simple as that really, my friend_))

  • This is like watching that scene in Amadeus when Mozart takes that short ditty written by Salieri and just riffing on it until it becomes something extraordinary.

  • LMAO i love elton. he is hilariousss.

  • creepy laugh at 0:47

  • LOL

  • Comment removed

  • he did one on oprah too.

  • Lol ozzie in the background.

  • LMAO! Elton is just amazing!!

  • I love elton he is amazing!!

  • So, is Elton John doing anything these days? Because I can just imagine him performing and writing 192 songs a day.

  • @Vadergeek Elton has a superb new album coming out very soon, The Union with Leon Russell

  • @mizofan And I got tickets for Hollywood and Ontario after seeing him in Chula Vista in July...I am a happy, happy native Californian :-)

  • I have a feeling this may have been pre-planned. For one thing, why would Richard E Grant have brought along his oven manual if he don't know in advance that he was going to be picked out of the audience. And if he knew then chances are that Elton John did too. Good fun though.

  • @mickram23 He did the same thing at another recital where he borrowed a book from a girl in the audience. If you are a professional musician with 40 years of experience it's not that difficult to improvise a tune to some given words...

  • @mickram23 Well maybe he just brought it with hope that he'd be picked.

  • @mickram23 it does seem like it could be pre planned.. but at the same time, im a musician myself.. and one time i got my friend to pick up random items around my room and id make a song on a spot as he grabbed different things for me to sing about and it actually turned out quite funny. but thats because i love improv type stuff..so if i could do it i know for certain Elton John could do it , especially with the words already there. Im going to believe that this was real *shrug* cyas dude

  • <3 <3 <3

  • I would buy the CD :)

  • Almost ragtimey elton rocks

  • haha so classic, haha. great post, thanks for the post!!

  • This is impressive!

  • Thank You !

  • haha minor key makes it a bad oven

  • Oh, Elton. xD

  • Dear elton john, u are officially my hero

  • el puto amo!!!

    xD

  • That's one way to remember your instruction manual. I could see it now a show tune with the LAS VEGAS dancers. LMAO!!!

  • This is my inspiration. Q: whats talent? A: This video depicts it.

  • This might be the most amazing thing I've seen in my life.

  • Richard E. Grant was also in Bram Stoker's Dracula (1992) starring Gary Oldman and Keanu Reeves, directed by Francis Ford Coppola

  • I see Ozzy Osbourne but who the fucks that guy with the crazy hair at the very begining?

  • Never even saw Ozzy till I read that comment. Elton John is now God status being able to make a song about anything.

  • @Splortched theres a lot of artists there.. (including that famous Magician David Copperfield)

  • @supertamal2099 The entire crowd is musicians, actors, magicians, directors etc. It's a show case.

  • I love how Ozzy is looking at Grant like "what the bloody hell is he going to do"

    In other news

    Sir Elton is the master.

  • thats totally ozzy right behind him

  • Richard B who?

  • Richard B Grant.

  • Who is he? Is that him?

  • Richard E Grant. He's a british actor, in theatre productions

  • Check out a film called "Withnail & I"

  • Why?

  • It's a quality film with Richard E Grant in...

  • WITH YOUR NEW BLOODY OVEN!!!!

  • lol i remember this!!!!

  • brilliant.
