  • watched it with my 5 yr old cousin... after the video she said "Jeez louise... I need tofind me a pair of pints like them! I love those!" so now we r making this cake for her

  • Lori making a bell bottom jean cake will not make you cool. We're not in the 60s.

  • @2424puma2424

    1) Why would someone care what others think?

    2) Actually bell bottoms are still fairly fashionable among women and teens.

  • Whats a crumb coat? Whats a crumb coat? OMFG WE KNOW WHAT A CRUMB COAT IS!!!!!!!!!

Lori is annoying, and she is pointless in these videos.

  • I always watch your videos!

  • The cake dome

  • Was laurie eating something???

  • @Ensw52 yes she was eating the cake domes hahah i thought that too!!

  • she put pills on the cake god save dem kids

  • It drives me nuts when you have a sweet delicious cake, and then you put skittles, and fruit roll ups on it. Yeah it looks nice, but when you taste it, it completely ruins the flavor! Cute cake though. And I really don't understand what the purpose of Lori is.

  • Love these videos, but what is the purpose of Lori? I like it better when Liv is alone...

  • Not sure what kind of cake was used but just made this last night and a regular cake mix does not work well. It has too many crumbs on the parts that are exposed after cutting. Just trying to get a crumb coat on was a real job. Also the 2 sections used on the flared part of the pant is impossible to put icing on. The cake in video appears to be literally spongey/rubbery. Also did the flip flop cake and it was even harder because it is completely cut out with crumbs exposed.

  • @KissHope It's our SuperMoist cake. Cake surfaces that are cut exposing crumbs do present more of a challenge when frosting, but if a small amount of frosting is used first on these surfaces, it helps seal in the crumbs w/ this frosting... (continued).

  • @KissHope ... Chill the cake w/ its sealed in crumb coat for about 30 mins & then frost the cake over its sealed in frosting w/ a finishing coat. It's like painting a wall with primer, let it dry, and then a second coat. Allow the cake to cool for several hours & refrigerate before cutting out shapes so the crumbs stay more intact. Hope this helps! Happy baking. :)

  • @BettyCrockerTV

I did chill after the crumb coat and before. Again my sumise is this was not a regular yellow Betty Crocker cake mix and if it was then it was not mixed with same ingredients according to the package. The cake in the video is much more sponge like. I have made plenty of cakes prior so not new to the process however this was my first with cutting out etc. Perhaps it should be mentioned what kind of cake should/was used in the video.

  • @KissHope It was a yellow Betty Crocker SuperMoist cake mix. Since many of the videos were videotaped a couple years ago, the formula has changed a few times to a moister cake now. Therefore, I would recommend using a decreased amount of water, maybe even reducing by 1/4 cup and even freezing the cake for 1 hour prior to cutting it into the shapes and freezing again for 30 minutes after crumb coating with frosting.

  • @BettyCrockerTV

The decrease in water would probably help very much, will try that next time. Thank you for the additional info. For the record my friend's daughter loved both cakes as well as her school mates. Still a very cute idea for a young girl.

  • @KissHope No problem. Glad you took the time to post. :) We are listening and like to read your feedback.

  • at 0:45 lori looks pregoo lmfbaoo

  • I wouldn't touch her cake lol no one saw the lady to the right lick her fingers and touch the candy that was going down? EWWWWWWWWWWWW

  • Who do you give the cake to?

  • Those pink and white candies look like pills, haha.

  • A 7 year old kid like Laurie's wouldn't wear makeup

  • That's funny after Lev gave her the cake she strted eating it:^)

  • How is this a "Pop Diva" cake? Looks more like Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants cake to me.

  • Ew, she licked her finger and then touched the sweets, is anybody going to eat that cake? If there is, I feel bad for them.

  • She was hungry! did you see her eating the dome? she was trying to be inconspicuous. she probably wanted to shove the whole thing in her mouth!

  • ummm she must be hungry or something because she kept jerking the candies away from liv lololol
