Including a spoiler... i did this tour 6 years ago. I think they should try to leave the "mountain feeling" as much as possible and should not install stairs in easy to go rock.
Good video it was a really fun way to get out and hike. We did it in shorts and with a small backpack plus no climbing / ferrata gear/ If you are a climber its really not bad at all an you won't have any scary moments. We encountered plenty of ice and snow and it still wasn't to bad.
There is some further information and pictures at my website
I have my own gear but I would be surprised if you can't rent some stuff in the neighbourhood. We stayed overnight at the railwaystation Eiger glacier. Nice hotel for one night, quietly and at the start of the klettersteig.
Hi, affirm, on top you will find a geocache. There is also another geocache we did in the afternoon the same day, also at the top of a klettersteig. Follow the Eigertrail towards Grindelwald and somewhere take a right turn climbing up. The other klettersteig is more difficult and very little has been written about it.

Great video, thanks for posting. I hope to do this next summer. Is that a geocache that you found?

Thank you very much for the information! Did you take your own gear, or is there somewhere in the region where you can rent it?
