This just looks awful. How does the NES go from Super Mario Bros. to this pile of garbage. Games certainly didn't do a whole lot of progressing back in my day. This game in particular really went backwards on the videogame evolutionary scale.

An arcade game came out after the movie. To skirt copyright laws, the game was called "SHARK JAWS", where the word Shark was in .5" letters, above Jaws, being 6" letters. The studio couldn't do a thing. People would just see "JAWS", and barely notice the tiny blur of "SHARK" above it.

The commentary on this excerpt is so hillarious. Jaws wasn't that bad for 1987. It could have been made more creatively. They could have made a second edition that was more itnteractive. Still, there is a lot to say about this game, the review is about 7 minutes long!

Ugh - horrible game. Worst I owned as a kid.

Couple of things though. His health doesn't refill completely after an encounter - just 4 bars, you also lose the receiver if you die, and if it's supposed to be like Jaws: Revenge, they were electromagnetic pulse strobes, not strobe lights (not as though either would make a shark jump out of water anyway).

Didn't know the sub came from 30,000 points though. Thought that was random. Thanks.

I remember staying at the very top part of the screen when Jaws was around because for whatever reason he can't hit you when you're on the surface of the water. Amazing time waster though, played it as a kid.

Another NES game where you can't die in the final battle is Mario is Missing! The boss goes right through Luigi not damaging him at all. I thought that was the only unloseable final boss battle in a game. Apparently I was wrong. Nice review. The game sounded ok for a while. Then again its just another failed movie game.
