I'm sorry for starting an argument, crysis is the best stand alone fps. Half life 2 is the best FPS of all time. But this includes Valve awesomeness, the community, the mods, and everything about the source engine. But just hl2 alone is nothing compared to crysis. And I know crysis has some kick ass mods as well. But I think hl2 is more legendary.
You Got this from EA? I got It From EB for 25$ i dont know how a awesome game is really cheap although it was made A few years ago and not much people Bought it Due To expensive Price.
wow get with the times people! get a 360 or a ps3. worried bout hardware on computers just for a damn game is silly and ridiculous. plus consoles are much better
@heat4yoass If by "Consoles are much better", you mean "Consoles are stuck with dated hardware and inferior graphical capabilities, not to mention lazy developers looking for a quick cow to milk with minimal effort", then yeah, I get your point.
Modern Warfare 2, Halo series, both overrated and trashy console kid games.
Get with the times kid, just because PC gaming takes an investment and a brain doesn't mean that it's not worth the hassle when a true gem comes around.
No, actually I mean the hardware are meant for gaming in general, hence the name "game console". Whereas for PC, you either buy a brand new gaming console for up to near 2000 for a new one and 1000-1500 for a decent used one, paying as much for barebone when both or dare I see, even 360 or ps3 has the better hardware to withstand games. Well, I take that back, fuck microsoft. 360 sucks ass.
@heat4yoass Just because it's meant exclusively for gaming doesn't mean it's superior.
That's like saying a kitchen appliance that does one thing poorly is better than one that does 15 things very well.
And game consoles are HARDLY for exclusive gaming. Web browsers allow for more, and more people use their consoles for multiple things, like movies and social networking via said web browsers.
Console specializes in doing one thing "okay", while PCs excel in all that they do.
@heat4yoass Not to mention the fact that a very good gaming computer with modern parts (I say "Modern", not "Bleeding Edge" or "Intel brand") will run you less than $1k if you know what the hell you're doing. Sure, buying a premade one nets you a half-decent rig, but the pre-built ones are plagued with inferior hardware and almost double (Or triple) the price.
I just got a new Dual Core with unlockable cores for under $100, meaning a quad for the price of a duo AMD brand chip.
HA! Wake me up when your video card stops overclocking due to excessive use or too much graphics for the computer to handle, or all the prerequisites in order to game on a pc, or going through countless hardware because something got fried. I haven't had one problem with my ps3 and I play the hell out of it everyday. Although my xbox 360 took a dump on me about 3 times but that's because, well it's microsoft and microsoft sucks major cack!
@heat4yoass You never have to OC anything if you know what you're doing.
Even if you DO OC something, if you know what you're doing you'll shave maybe a month off the lifetime of your card or CPU, tops. Too many idiots try to bump things up double-speed, which will ruin it no doubt.
And "excessive use" is running crysis at max 24/7 for 6 months straight. It doesn't happen kid.
Heck, I upgrade one part for less than $100, and I've got a rig that kicks Sony's ass. PS3? Naw, it's PC.
i need to get this before the 2nd one comes out but i need to upgrade my graphics card 1rst coz all i can run is C&C:red alert 3 and HALF-LIFE DM (and plus itz the only 2 pc games i got)

Man it shall take even the last breath of the ps3 and x360 to run this on medium like cryengine 3 does. I wanna play on pc, because its the best plataform for fps by far and the graphics make me say "Ohhhh" everytime I grab a north korean guy and use him as a shield.
why do people buy phenoms?! intel quads are much faster and even cheaper...
well anyway... also depends on your other hardware. u need a good grafic card for that...

yer you can,.....but you would need at least £5000 to get it up to speck, you would have to have like no bigger than a 15 or 16 inch screen, 2x gtx 295's, an EVGA motherboard, quad core procesor, water cooling, and thats about it....NO LAGG.
No 2 gtx 295's run like crap, just look at a benchmark. 3 gtx 285's run at like 60 fps on very high 1920x1200 4x aa. The minimum to run crysis on very high at 1920x1200 is one gtx 285 if you want to play at +30 fps, or one gtx 295 to play in the 40s.

My frigging LAPTOP plays it maxed on 900p, and it was £1400.
Oh, and the base i7 920 2.66GHz can be overclocked to 4GHz on air cooling. Some have pushed it even further than that.
No, my laptop doesn't play it with AA, AF or DX10, because they make virtually NO difference whatsoever to the visual quality. (And no, I'm not lying.)
It does on the other hand run it maxed out, DX9, no AA or AF, at 1440x900. Which is not bad for £1400.
There are, believe it or not, laptops out there that will play it averaging 30fps @ 1920x1200 while maxed out, DX10, even if no AA or AF.
Technically '900p' and '1200p' are HD resolutions too. What 720p is is 1280x720, likewise 1080p is 1920x1080. (At least I think 720p is 1280x720, might be 1440x720 or something like that)
AA and AF don't make a huge difference to image quality in Crysis, and at higher resolutions especially not. Crysis has EdgeAA on all the time to make foliage look better, whether or not you have normal AA on anyway.
you should be able to play that on max detail and resolution, as i can play on 1600 res and max detail on an overclocked 280, i just turned anti aliasing down, soi doubt you will have a problem, besides u dont need a.a at that res.
this footage is pre-alpha and it looked better back then. they had to tone it down a little to make it run on parts that were not too expensive. they could probably bring back the old look now that good parts for computers are not as expensive, but there are still the expensive, over the top parts.
sorry read a few reviews, looks like my graphics cards suck ass, but anyone still know how it'll fare? i know ati is shit compared to nvidia, but my friend gave me his pc, anyone got any clues?
dude. Are you kidding me? You won't run it on highest settings @ 22 inch resolution on anything less than GTX 295, GTX 280 sli, 275 sli, 260 sli Plus ATI cards run this game like crap, especially in crossfire compared to an sli of equivalent cards.
ive played Crysis on Gigabyte Geforce 8800 GTS 512 And Intel Dual Core.3.0 GHZ And I had Terrible Framerate sometimes about 22 18 fps...I should you buy Intel Core 2 Quad Q5500 2.66 GHZ...And I have about 36 and somtimes 27,28 .. and Remember that Crysis Isn't Only Video Card Eater And Even Proccesor eater
Ive got a small problem with Crysis, when i start it up it it goes through the nvida crytek etc videos, then i get a grey radar that covers the whole screen and a green cursor? it looks the menu is supposed to be there ? btw its downloaded from torrent, but its clean
no, its not enough. get at least 9800 gtx tri sli, im using 9800gtx+ last time and its very laggy in ultra settings, mate, get yourself a GTX 285 Tri-SLI, that should do the trick
uhh wtf, what you mean you cant on ultra..i do and i have a 9500gt gddr3, 600 core, 1000mem. clocks. with a pentium dual core at 2ghz, i get 27fps max and 24 lowest possible. thats very playable..right around a console such as ps3's fps.
This is the beta version of Crysis, the graphics were simpler and ragdolls were lighter. You could also hit dead bodies. You can't get it anymore :D sry
I have Nvidia 8600 GT with 2,66 Ghz intel core 2 duo and 2 GB ram and This game works fine on medium (can't go higher) and rezolution to 1280 by 1024 ;) or something like that ;)
Are u serious? a Nvidia 9400GT? thats a low crap videocard! together with that AMD X2 Cpu..u wont get Crysis any higher than on Low settings and 1024x768 resolution.
Ur 9400GT has only 16 sp's with 8 texture units and 4 rendering output units what gives it a very low Bandwidth.
It doesnt matter if u have 256, 512, 1024 of mb... ur GPU is just too slow.
Even with that low setting u wont be able too play crysis on normal framerates. Sorry but u rly need to buy better stuff.
and besides i went to a site called "system requirements lab" where they test ur computer to see what games ur able to play and it said my graphics card is fine on recommended parts it says it says everything is fine for my comp except i dont have the AMD 5200 yet but getting it today though, and the recommended wants a 4400 or better Athlon an im getting a 5200 just saying it states that i can play on the recommended section an not minimum i'll make a video or something to show what i mean.
WHAHAHAHAHA LOL, so u believe that site? u know what?
Go and buy Crysis, and check out for urself. if u think ur able too play Crysis on Medium or higher settings, than talk too me again. Otherwise, just shut up. Cause u WILL find out that ur 9400GT is a crap card. u cant deny the fact that it has only 16 streamprocessors too render the game..and that wont be enough..no matter how much RAM or how fast ur CPU is. it just wont play right. find out!
really awesome! i havent got a chance to get my 5200 installed yet or my comp overclocked by friend because of a family cysis but soon i'll have the game.
does crysis come with that editor thing?cause i got warhead and it doesnt come with shit-_-.I KNOW ITS AN EXPANSION!DOESNT MEAN THEY HAD TO LEAVETHE EDITOR OUT!
The minimum requirements to really play the game with 30fps and settings on high (not on very high) is a quad core,2 gigs of ram and a 8800gt and still the fps suck...i believe that pc's in year will really do it
Not exactly true. A dual core CPU can handle Crysis well enough for sure. Especially at 30 FPS. An 8800GT is probably the minimum to get decent framerates with High settings. Anything less is going to cut into the gameplay (unless you're willing to sacrifice the visual goodies). I have an E6550 and a 9800GT and I can run Crysis on high settings at 1280x960 (no AA) with about 40 to 50 FPS easy. About 90% of the campaign was without a little lag when I played through.
you dont even need that, i run it with a Pentium dual core at 2ghz, 2 gig ram, and an xfx nvidia 9500gt. i ran all settings on very high the whole game with no lag what so ever, no matter what i did. i was disappointed that this game was so short though.
he does not...that is the "OFFICIAL REQUIREMENTS" which will allow the game to enter into the menu and "start" the game but you will get crap fps. I have figured out that the requirments to run the game with good fps (30 fps) you need 2gb ram (or more) a 8600gt/gs/gts a P4 3.0ghz (or Core 2 duo 2.0 ghz) and the whole 256mb gfx is not true you only NEED 128mb
I dont care what it says on the back...my old P.4 had a ATI 9700 128mb and 128bit and 2gb DDR ram and it played crysis on lowest with 25 fps avg...so I would say that 128mb plays the game just fine
1. notebook HP Pavillion 6715ew - 2x1,66 , 2GB RAM, GeForce 8400GS, 160 GB, Vista, - with default screen resolution for notebook it runs at low/medium sometimes(not often) goes slower
2. Intel Core 2 quad 4x2,66 MHz , 4 GB DDR3 RAM @1600 MHz (Patriot), GeForce GTX260(Asus), mainboard Asus Striker II Extreme, 2x 500 GB hard drives, XP Pro, newest drivers - 1920x1200 (24 inch Samsung T240HD) - all max graphic settin- not a problem, even fans don't fasten
what the fuck, y is this gameplay different than the crysis now. for example, the suit modes here are more effective. in maxiumum strength u send guys flying but in the crysis now u cant do stuff like that. in maxiumum speed, ur were able to go faster in this version. why the fuck did they change it, this version is so much better!!!!!!?!, and the game looks more realistc. explosion and what have you. the suit mode menu loooks better in this one too. overall, its better in this one. Y CHANGE IT?
This is the epic version of Crysis but with more distruction etc

try r_useedgeAA 2 in crysis to make the edgeAA better ;)
then i agree, to play smoothly edgeAA 2 is better than FSAA..
JamoZ46 2 years ago
That's why I don't put FSAA on in Crysis. Kills the framerate, and not as good as EdgeAA :)
Thanks I'll try that command then sometime.

I can play Crysis on a PC with ATI Radion 4890 right? i think it should easily do it, but im not great with cimputers tbh
joemosss 2 years ago
lol yeh, it'll be fine - as long as you have a decent amount of RAM and a processor that doesn't bottleneck.

yea, im using 4870 and I can get medium

hey fellas, if I put in a GTX 295 I'll need a 700 watt PSU, but with a 1.8Ghz AMD quad core Phenom, and 4 GB Ram, how will it play?????
operationturkeyshoot 2 years ago
it might
graywolf95 2 years ago
very high
MafiaZogger 2 years ago
you should be able to play that on max detail and resolution, as i can play on 1600 res and max detail on an overclocked 280, i just turned anti aliasing down, soi doubt you will have a problem, besides u dont need a.a at that res.

BunnyCake10 2 years ago
this footage is pre-alpha and it looked better back then. they had to tone it down a little to make it run on parts that were not too expensive. they could probably bring back the old look now that good parts for computers are not as expensive, but there are still the expensive, over the top parts.

operationturkeyshoot 2 years ago
dude. Are you kidding me? You won't run it on highest settings @ 22 inch resolution on anything less than GTX 295, GTX 280 sli, 275 sli, 260 sli Plus ATI cards run this game like crap, especially in crossfire compared to an sli of equivalent cards.

CAN I RUN LIKE THIS VIDEO IN 1024*1280 ??
yasir25119918 2 years ago
no, its not enough. get at least 9800 gtx tri sli, im using 9800gtx+ last time and its very laggy in ultra settings, mate, get yourself a GTX 285 Tri-SLI, that should do the trick
ChiaKaCheng 2 years ago
you don't even need that, I'm sure two or even one GTX 285 would do the trick on ultra high and a decent resolution.
tarkinfish 2 years ago
definately not, you could run it on the second highest settings though, which still looks better than most games these days.

Go with a Full Intel X-58 motherboard,
Intel Core i7
6GB RAM triple channel
and videocard..
GTX280 or ATI 4870.. or 4870x2
GTX285... or GTX 295
by XFX EVGA MSI.. or ASUS..
SynodCenturion 2 years ago
Becuase we all have $3,000 to burn.
Get something a little more practical, like an nVidia 8600GT, Core 2 Duo with at least 3.5GHz (combined), and around 4GB of RAM.
Motherboard's aren't extremely helpful while gaming, but just in-case I'll get an nVidia 750i.

i have a Nvidia 9400GT GeForce graphics card and a i just ordered a AMD X2 64 Athlon 5200 dual core 2.7GHz processor will this play crysis?
kitsune450 2 years ago
medium detail at a medium resolution should be playable
camstatic1 2 years ago
Are u serious? a Nvidia 9400GT? thats a low crap videocard! together with that AMD X2 Cpu..u wont get Crysis any higher than on Low settings and 1024x768 resolution.
Ur 9400GT has only 16 sp's with 8 texture units and 4 rendering output units what gives it a very low Bandwidth.
It doesnt matter if u have 256, 512, 1024 of mb... ur GPU is just too slow.
Even with that low setting u wont be able too play crysis on normal framerates. Sorry but u rly need to buy better stuff.
SynodCenturion 2 years ago
so i would need to buy a new graphics card? which would good to buy?
kitsune450 2 years ago
and besides i went to a site called "system requirements lab" where they test ur computer to see what games ur able to play and it said my graphics card is fine on recommended parts it says it says everything is fine for my comp except i dont have the AMD 5200 yet but getting it today though, and the recommended wants a 4400 or better Athlon an im getting a 5200 just saying it states that i can play on the recommended section an not minimum i'll make a video or something to show what i mean.
kitsune450 2 years ago
WHAHAHAHAHA LOL, so u believe that site? u know what?
Go and buy Crysis, and check out for urself. if u think ur able too play Crysis on Medium or higher settings, than talk too me again. Otherwise, just shut up. Cause u WILL find out that ur 9400GT is a crap card. u cant deny the fact that it has only 16 streamprocessors too render the game..and that wont be enough..no matter how much RAM or how fast ur CPU is. it just wont play right. find out!
SynodCenturion 2 years ago
hey no need to get fucking rude! then tell me which card i would need to get in order to play it?
kitsune450 2 years ago
I got a AMD Athlon 64 X2 5000 with 2 x 2.6 GHz and a Nvidia 9500GT geforce and it works at 1280 x 1024 with full settings, GDDR 3 and 512mb

Nygogo 3 years ago
The minimum requirements to really play the game with 30fps and settings on high (not on very high) is a quad core,2 gigs of ram and a 8800gt and still the fps suck...i believe that pc's in year will really do it
prutsikas 3 years ago
Not exactly true. A dual core CPU can handle Crysis well enough for sure. Especially at 30 FPS. An 8800GT is probably the minimum to get decent framerates with High settings. Anything less is going to cut into the gameplay (unless you're willing to sacrifice the visual goodies). I have an E6550 and a 9800GT and I can run Crysis on high settings at 1280x960 (no AA) with about 40 to 50 FPS easy. About 90% of the campaign was without a little lag when I played through.
horizon 3 years ago
you dont even need that, i run it with a Pentium dual core at 2ghz, 2 gig ram, and an xfx nvidia 9500gt. i ran all settings on very high the whole game with no lag what so ever, no matter what i did. i was disappointed that this game was so short though.
djpoontangy 2 years ago
what specs do you need to play this?
iShutup2 3 years ago
windows xp/vista, processor :2.8 for XP, 3.2 for vista, 1GB Ram, video card 256++
cuteboymimmi 3 years ago 2
Thats all you need to play this game? Whats the hype about then? 1gb ram? What kind of ram? do you even know what your talking about?
keynan0000 3 years ago
he does not...that is the "OFFICIAL REQUIREMENTS" which will allow the game to enter into the menu and "start" the game but you will get crap fps. I have figured out that the requirments to run the game with good fps (30 fps) you need 2gb ram (or more) a 8600gt/gs/gts a P4 3.0ghz (or Core 2 duo 2.0 ghz) and the whole 256mb gfx is not true you only NEED 128mb
MaxiMachine 3 years ago
thats the requirements on the back of the DVD 256mb gfx
cuteboymimmi 3 years ago
I dont care what it says on the back...my old P.4 had a ATI 9700 128mb and 128bit and 2gb DDR ram and it played crysis on lowest with 25 fps avg...so I would say that 128mb plays the game just fine

what the fuck, y is this gameplay different than the crysis now. for example, the suit modes here are more effective. in maxiumum strength u send guys flying but in the crysis now u cant do stuff like that. in maxiumum speed, ur were able to go faster in this version. why the fuck did they change it, this version is so much better!!!!!!?!, and the game looks more realistc. explosion and what have you. the suit mode menu loooks better in this one too. overall, its better in this one.
