@immortal4942 Sorry, I sold the car and have a 2010 R/T challenger now. I did a lot of 0-60 tests back then. Most CAI's are rather over rated. Actual hp output is a slight increas if any. When the engine gets hot the "CAI" sucks hot air from around the engine and this causes it to have less power and its then NOT a Cold air intake, but a HOT air intake.
I am from mexico and Im 19 years old. My dodge charger have a K&n air intake, magna flow exhaust, and 90*degrees lamboDOORS. I LOVE THE COLOR. same as yours like blue and green and sparkly.
@trumpetslayer92 The reason the manufacture limits the rpm of the eingine with the computer is there is a tested / proven save limit for each engine design and set of components. This is set by the Dodge engineers, and may be a little big conservitive but is safe. To increase the capability of the engine you need to replace parts, then the mechanical capabilities of the engien will allow for higher rpm's
@n9iagalbert So the real fix is exotic materials in the engine. Indy cars rev at 10500 rpm and F1 cars go as high as 15000 rpm. Motorcycle engines rev high to. The reason it can is because the parts are designed for that. If you over rev an engine it will bow up or appart.
@n9iagalbert Now, to answer your question if you get the DiabloSport preditor you can modify many things. A/F ratio, timing, etc etc etc. One thing it also allows is to increase the speed limiter AND what you are wanting is the rev limiter. You can raise it when its not in gear or when its in drive. I would warn against doing that because if you spin the engine to fast it will blow appart and the warranty wont cover that.
The official color code is Marine blue peral coat. Its a little different in person. The camera changes it some. Check out my other videos like the one labeled mopar. Both my cars are the same color
In all Honesty, I would GREATLY suggest going with a Spectre CAI, a very good investment, plus maybe its just personal & I'm being biased due to K&N's outrageous HP claims & prices & not living up to those standards.. Don't go with it just because it's "K&N" do your research never hurts
There are many different CAI's, (I mean HAI's) K&N tends to be the standard, but Im sure there are many that are better. Probably got K&N because of the name. Most just suck hot air anyway, but do add flow, so they dont make about half what they clame power wise. We need one that pulls fresh cooler air from the outside. There are some now that do just that. For my new car Im starting with a hig flow drop in filter, as most that have dynotested CAIs on an R/T show negative to 0 hp increase
I think your car is an awesome color!! And thank you for posting this video, I want to go with the Mopar CAI now, I don't like how the K&N sits and I think it's quiter than the mopar.
Thanks. The point of my videos is to show how each car sounds and responds to aftermarket parts. It is not about Dodge being good or bad. I dont do the ford vs chevy argument. It is about what the parts do to the car, so you can decide if you like it or dont like it. That way you can make up your own mind.
nice CAI! i got me the same setup.. i love the sound! once you hit the pedal and your tach. hits 5k rpm or more, it changes the sound of the engine! grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr....
Each person has a different opinion. I do videos so people can chose to get it or not. My Caliber CAI is VERY VERY Loud. To much for me, but some like it. I prefer the sound of a 4 barrel carb opening up, but I dont miss how poor they run when cold.
For 2007 the 3.5L was an option for the base SE. For $20k I got the SE, and added the 3.5L, plus power seats. The 3.5L package came with the 5 speed transmission, and 4 wheel disk brakes with ABS. Now the 3.5L is an SXT item, but I got it as a package on the SE for $20k
The point of this video is for people who like or own the charger and would like to see how a K&N CAI looks and sounds. I am NOT trying to be pro Dodge, Pro V6 or anything, it is just to point out how a K&N CAI looks and sounds, nothing more
Dhe DiabloSport 93 octane tune really makes the car faster, but I did not find any way to video it that would show you anything usefull. What would you like to see?
See my other videos for other mods and the results. I will provide more videos after DiabloSport releases its tuner and I get the 93 octain tune installed.
I have been doing 0-60 tests, but I fond as the car got hotter it slowed down. This threw off my testing. Maby a slight increase. When I added the headers the performance stabalized to produce almost the same 0-60 times from warm through hot. Stock 7.5-8.5 seconds, with all 3 6.9-7.1 is my current times.
DiabloSport is about to release a tuner and that will have a bigger hp increase than the 3 other mods I have done combined. For the money the tuner provides the most hp for the $
Nice, i got a hook up with k&N and this is definetely on my list of upgrades, i'm sorry i should say it's must! By the way, how's the gas mileage after this add on?
The 5.7L HEMI V8 is better, and more expensive. The 3.5L V6 does the job to a reasonable extent, and is cheaper. I paid just over $20,000.00 for my car brand new.
The point to this video was not to brag about the Dodge Charger, it was to demonstrate the impact of performance parts. When I got my Dodge Caliber a few months ago, I found very few people documented what the car sounds like with different parts added. That is why I wanted to document before and after videos. No it is not a race car; No it is not a Hemi; yes it only has a 3.5L V6.
With the SE you can get an upgrade package which adds the 3.5L to the cheapest Charger. For just over $20,000.00 I got a 3.5L with 4 wheel abs disk brakes, and traction controll, with the 5 speed MB transmission. The SXT costs more, and the R/T V8 is about $10,000.00 more.
slightly incorrect alfa12alfa . the SE has the option...in america... to have the 3.5L engine from the factory. its not an SXT with chrome grille and leather wrapped shifter and steering wheel, fog lights, and 6 speaker sound. but its actually listed as an SE with upgraded engine.
can u do a 0-60 test?

@n9iagalbert 0-60 before and after would be nice, preferrably independant non biased dyno test as well, sorry dont have it.
I recommend more research.
