  • Dadadada dadadada dada dada...

  • Hey I been working on this song and listening to this track in the backup on the accoustic I haven't found any tab for that f sharp thingy during the solo... help me please no one on the net has it right but I think you're the closest I've seen what chords during the electric solo??

  • Wow! I'm blown away. I love this tune. Excellent job. How many hours or weeks of practice did it take to get to this level?

  • great playing,sounds tight.

  • Nicely done! All of your Zep songs are amazing. Beautiful tone from that acoustic, too.

  • awesome dude Outstanding

  • I like how you added a snippet of an unreleased Zep song "Swan Song" which later came to be known as "Midnight Moonlight" by the Firm.

  • You nailed this song. The hammer- ons and pull-offs are effortless.

  • nice cover man! keep it up!

  • What kind of guitar is that?

  • @MonkeyWildCat That guitar is a Blueridge BR-70! Great guitar for the price and I know it; I own one. Made in China, but, it kicks-out Martins and Gibsons for the money. I have two Blueridge guitars and they rock for a quarter of the price...you heard this guy's recording and those guitars sound like that!

  • @evazian5 It's actually a Martin D41.

  • very good

  • Love your choice of material

  • This guitar. *_*

  • May be my favorite!

  • Excellent job - sounds dead on !

  • sounds like Zepplin to me, good cover friend!

  • how do you play the part @ 1:00? I've been looking all over no videos show that part lol

  • @atedge17 I've posted a separate video on how to play this song.

  • probably the best person ive seen play led zepplin ever.

  • Great song. Wish I could play it.. I just need to

Lockyself in my room for a few weeks and learn those pull offs and such

  • in the original song, did they have a 12 string acoustic?

  • @69rubberduckey It sounds to me like it starts with a 6-string and then the second acoustic coming in at around 30 seconds is a 12-string.

  • @privettricker Hey well done on the song and ur other vids, u play well, BTW i have a guitar just like that one, that is a CF Mountain isnt it?... i couldnt see the headstock, i bought mine about 30 years ago for $40 and its the best sounding acoustic ive heard and has the best action on a acoustic, would never part with it i love it so much, and it sounds better than the martin guitars as ive a few friends who own martins and they say it sounds better than theirs.... any way cheers and rock on

  • @69rubberduckey in the original recording jimmy page had a double neck guitar, one neck 6 string and the other was 12, and he would switch to and fro.

  • @taulbeeno7 Well...no, he didn't record it that way. He didn't even play it onstage that way. Besides, you can hear the 6-string and the 12-string playing simultaneously, so it's an overdub. Jimmy didn't get the acoustic doubleneck until around the time of the UnLedded show.

  • @taulbeeno7

this is the best cover ive seen yet on youtube

  • this guy works his ass off like a normal american yet people take him for granted and if we do that then we have truly lost all hope in the american way of sticking together and i will fight anybody who would be so ignorant that to call privettricker a fake of bad player so go ahead and tell me and i will meet you somewhere

  • This is the first Zeppelin song I learned, and still my favorite.

  • folk strings came on my guitar i bought a while ago and i don't think they're ideal for all those hammer ons and pull offs. what kind of strings are u using?

  • I'm in total agreement with Kingshearer2, and I would also pay to see you if you ever came to England. I'm learning more from your videos than anyone else on youtube.

Thanks. Keep doing what you're doing!

  • Thanks, using elixer strings. Would like to move to your Martin one of these days.

  • hey, you play very well and i have picked alot of songs just by watching you!!

what do you think of a Washburn d-10 acoustic??

  • @rngrck Never played a D10, but I actually like Washburns. Gave one to my brother for Christmas a couple of years ago. Great guitars for the money.

  • When you touring England? I would pay to watch that everytime.

Despite what's been said by the hecklers in the crowd i think the timing is spot on. Infact I wouldn't be suprised if the face on those shoulders turned out to be Jimmy Pages. Well done Son.

  • Who gives a shit if there is an error or two??!! What do you What do you want? Jam on it too? You should see my vids! I make mistakes all the time and don`t give a fuck! If you don`t like my playing fuck off and watch Justin! Nicely played and a beautiful guitar Sir!

  • @moleman1961 At last -- someone who gets it.

  • @privettricker You are welcome!

  • Nice! Beautilul guitar too!

  • nice job

  • excellent job!

    2 questions:

    1. what guitar are you playing here?

    2. How do you learn to play so well?

  • @ArtMan659

    1. That's a Martin D41.

    2. Practice.

  • Actually after going over this video again, there's only one error and thats that annoying ass hammer on pull off right in the Beginning 0:18 (annoying in the sense of how it's hard to play perfectly) Other than that. flawless I say.

  • ... The timing is fine, what you people are noticing is small errors in his playing, This is a very hard song to keep fluid I know this from first hand experience with the song. He may stumble a couple times but when your only looking for err like you people are now, that's all your gonna get, give him a break. He did an incredible job, one of the best on youtube.

  • @ShamusGarfunkle3 People who want perfection should listen to Yes instead of Led Zeppelin. Jimmy's playing has rough edges all over the place, and the rough edges are what makes his playing so great, IMO.

  • @privettricker I totally agree with you. Jimmys so called "Sloppy" style of playing was part of his signature style. It's one of the reasons I love listening to his guitar work, it's just completely raw you know?

But what makes it great is the amount of fluidity he can play his softer songs with, like Bron Yr Aur, and The Rain Song. So yeah, the roughness is what makes it great!

  • @privettricker Well said! Are you a YES fan and are you considering covering any YES tunes? Great playing by the way.

  • I'm not trying to be a dick or anything I'm just saying my 10 yr old sister can keep better time

  • @Yoyomaster918 Congratulations -- you're a dick without even trying.

  • @Yoyomaster918 hmm maybe you should upload a video and then MAYBE complain about other people's playing....oh wait...you don't have original videos on your page....now who looks stupid?

  • @Yoyomaster918 Obvious troll is obvious.

  • You need to work on your timing dude that was kinda bad

  • @Yoyomaster918 I really do appreciate valid criticism. This would be an example of invalid criticism.

  • @privettricker so people telling you what you;re doing wrong in order to better yourself is invalid? then you sir need to stop being so proud. nothing wrong with the playing but timing really is off a little

  • @desr2395 No, it's invalid because it's not true. I know when my playing is correct and when it's off. I'm not an idiot. And I'm no slouch on the guitar. So trust me when I tell you the timing in this one is fine.

  • @privettricker jeez i didn;t say you're in idiot and i didn't question your playing, i'm just saying i heard very small timing mistakes. something 99% of people wouldn't notice so it's not like it was bad

  • @desr2395 I'm talking about the guy who said his 10-year-old sister can keep better time than me. That's not valid criticism.

  • @privettricker oh ya that is invalid cuz that;s just dumb

  • bitchin.!!!

  • I have my Ric 330 in my hot little hands right now and she's a beauty. Do you own any twelvers? Getting a Martin D12-28 next week. Should be delivered Tuesday. Can't wait to get my hands on her.

  • @mstrammd Used to have a 12-string Takamine. Should have kept it.

  • You must have a very cool understanding wife who indulges your musical passions. How else would you get to buy all of those sweet guitars I see you playing let alone have the time to play them and do all these great demos.

What do you do for a day job?

    Keep on rocking, dude!

  • @mstrammd I do indeed have a very indulgent wife. And she's hot, too. :)

  • just plain 'wow'!

  • you are god

  • @lostinkmart8 No, just a guy out in the suburbs with too much time on his hands.

  • truely badass would be an understatement

  • 0:21 dog is like "screw this"

  • what strings you use?

  • Wow too bad I haven't 5000$ to buy a guitar.

  • Excellent. The Best cover on Youtube!!!!!

  • Excellent

  • Awesome!!! i love how the intro flows together so intricately on this song... Jimmy Page always gets hyped for his electric guitar playing but he was one hell of an acoustic player... What guitar is that your playing? It sounds identical to the one on the record... is it a martin D28? Great post, cheers!

  • @nelsano3 Thanks for the kind words. Yes, Jimmy was a lot more versatile than he gets credit for.

I'm playing a D41, same as a D28 except with some fancier trim. It plays as nice as it looks!

  • Oh, man. I'd really have to think about that.

  • you are freakin good. can you make a tutorial? im sorta of a sped and have problems reading tabs

  • Check my channel. There's a lesson there.

  • thank you!

  • Holy cow! Is that a J-200?

What sort of purfling is that? Mother of Pearl or Abalone?

Good God, the tone of your guitar is killer!

Are you recording direct out of the guitar?

    If so, into what?

    Awesome!

  • That's a Martin D-41. I do have a J-200, which is in some of my other videos.

Nothing special with the recording, just with the mic on the camera.

  • Awesome playing bro! i love how ur guitar sounds! good timing too!

  • I figured I was obligated to do some kind of birthday tribute.

  • sweet!!! I always knew how to play some parts of this song, now I can see the missing pieces, thanks!

  • Could you make a video showing how to play this? :)
