I don't understand how do you load a film plate when it's glued together and what does it hold a film plate if we open a darkslide and camera is leaning forward? That being said, you gave me a very good idea how to solve the problem and I'll modify your plan and make a holder in the same way, but gluing tin-plates. THX!
I want to make a similar holder for a 4x5 camera. Can you guys make a vid of how you actually made the darkslide part? And what the end result of this video looked like. Thanks
the plastic is PVC sign board available at your local sign supply shop. Its cheap and easy to work with, you just use woodworking tools and glue it together with acrylic cement.
we will deffinatly post more as the camera comes togeather. we had to start with the film carrier so that we can match the rest of the camera to. it. the black material is a plastic made by dupont "sintra" i think thats how you spell it..

Thank you so much. I was looking everywhere for a design for a plate holder for my 1888 view camera, but couldn't find one. Thanks.

Looks great but how will you stop the glass from falling into the camera once the front darkslide is removed? I don't see any way in this video.

Very useful, thanks a lot ! I was confused with finding additional cassetes for my 13x18cm camera and this is the solution ;)
