i posted that so long ago, holly crap.....unfortunalty the tranny shot out and the whole car went to shit cause my dad would rather save money than fix a good car. it died to the point of not even moving 2 moths ago.
Those were good times for Lincoln. I really miss all those cars (Mark VIII, Continental, Town Car, even the not so successful LS). They gave Lincoln a real life breathe back in the day.
i own a 1996 Lincoln Mark VIII Diamond Anniversary has a body color carriage roof.. Not bad for $2500 and 110k miles. It s fast and luxury. I love it. It turns heads everywhere I go.
@2playgirl85 Yeah I got one for 1k USD. Except its from 93. Do you ever have to replace the air suspension? Because mine needs it. For 500 bucks isnt too bad, but does it happen alot?
@Killzor420 my previous owner replaced the bags with coil overs because of the harsh climate of the midwest, and we practically drive on salt in the winter. i think it 500 for a bag, while its 300 for a coil over
oh when this beauty came out in late '92 it was somthing else. teacher in H.S bought one, black on black, in the spring of '93. I had to go see it and marvel.. would still buy one now. secret luxo cobra. he he he.. and hot rod mag put a small note warning rodders to be aware of the new hot rod lincoln that same year.
i drove today a 93 mark VIII w. 175K miles, it was sad to see tht the car was kept very very badly, but once i pushed the gas paddle! OMG it took off like no tommorow and b4 i know it i was on 70 on a 35 limit. the wheels were bald so it skidded a little but my hair on the back of my neck are still standing. if im lucky i will buy a 98 Mark VIII. i drive a chrysler 300 now. and love it as well.
we had one of those, a black Panther edition, man some car. Only reason we traded it in was that Ford has a policy not to provide any more spare parts for cars over 12 years old. We would have had to spend a couple of grand to bring her up to snuff. We traded her in at the local Mercedes place and I understand one of their mechs picked it up pronto.
I have a 93. It is like a car with a split personality. Just get on the gas and it's hard to remember you are in a Lincoln. It's a real hot rod. Driving to the grocery store has never been more fun since I've been driving this car. Quite an experience. I bought it because it was just a sharp looking car. The guy I bought it from said it was fast. But I could'nt believe I was in a Lincoln when I opened it up for the first time. Wow
@johnekgun That's true my 93 jsut had such a fast pick up, but my 97 dont have that! though it has vtech engine. it dont have that rapid take off like the 93 thru96 model. that's ok, it fast on the highway and smooth on the turns.
I wanted one so bad!!!!! By the time I could afford one, I discovered that german cars were only a little bit more money and they last well over twice as long.
Omg i want to choke my nephew just about now!! i lend him this car and he drove thru 2 1/2 feet of water a ceased my engine! well luckyly i just heppnd to bouy the 97 and had that one while i sold the 94, the car never held a for sale sign.
i love my '94. it only has 78,000 miles on it, and it runs like new. i'm now forced to drive luxury for the rest of my life, cuz once u go lincoln, you never go back.
I have a '94 with 129,000 miles. The only problem I have with it is the leather on the seats is too thin and has split. I get lots of compliments and people cant believe its a '94.
Spare me! Comparing the Mark VIII to your girlfriend's cheesy '94 Accord? LOL! Get serious....it is like comparing caviar (Mark VIII) to codfish (Accord)
@MassMan67 It does rule. i owned the first year of the Mark, now i owned the 97 lsc i still just love it, specialy with my kendwood touch dvd/mp3 player ,garmin navigation. pearl white chrome wheels. LOVE IT!!!!!
I loved this car since i was little. i am 17 and i bought a green 1993 Licoln Mark VIII for $1000, My father has a red one, and my grnd father has a 94 white one. we are going to take the drivetrain out of mine and put it im my fathers Because my car runs but is rusted out and his runs but not well but has no rust. I want to get a 1998 Lincoln Mark VIII LSC
This car was ahead of it's time and in some cases way ahead of it's time. It had a phone voice system was the sync of it's time in which no car in its class had in it's day let alone years after. It's service program was the On-Star of its day, many car companies in its class or higher didn't offer that package. A truly great car for its day.
that car is still is in now if it were brand new, it has a lot of shit in it for its year and time frame like that hands free cell phone operation, it must have blown cadillacs mind when it came out.haha
Nope, they had the STS comminf out which would prove to be one of the most beatifull and popular luxury can made. they didn't even try it compete with this.
I owned two mark VIII's. I had an okay experience with one ('94)and a really, really bad experience with the other ('98LSC). Let's just say it was soooo bad, I am no longer a Ford man.
hey..my dad has this car its in mint condition...it has 50,000 miles on it..and its mine now,,it needs a new batery and will be runnin really soon..can you guys message me about upgrades to it..its a 1995 black mark 8...pleese help me.....and is it nice..cause my friends say thery pieces of shot...hahaha just cauuse its ugly...but lincon are the shit so it must bee goood??right??
My brother has a pearl white 1993 Mark VIII and he drove the hell out of it and it stood up to the tests of time. Even now, people tink that its a 2000 model vehicle.

This is absolutely not a beautiful or futuristic looking car, even not for that time. It's again a classic example of extremely boring american design. The shape is just the typical car-shape a 5 year old would draw. It has no style, look at european cars, much better
I have always thought these were beautiful cars. I'm a sucker for sexy, revolutionary styling of the early 90's. Also the '95 Olds Aurora, '95 Buick Riviera, '92 Cadillac STS, '93 Dodge Intrepid, '94 Chrysler LHS. All automotive eye candy for the time. Cars nowadays seem to be getting more and more generic in styling. You can't tell a Hyundai from an Acura now. Good for Hyundai. Bad for Acura.
I remember when they first came out with the '95 Aurora. I was amazed with the radical, futuristic styling. 12yrs. later now, I still think it's a beautiful, futuristic looking car. Well-styled cars hold the test of time.
Exactly, they are great cars. They are more Cadillac than today's Cadillacs are (with the V8 and actual leg room and all). I love my car, everyone who sees it thinks it's a 2001 to 2004 ish model car.
Wow!! Thank you for adding all of this!! Fantastic. I have this video. If GM did not exist, I would be driving Lincolns. I am a huge fan of Town Car and the Mark series(except for Mark VII).
