Unquestionably, the best utilized space I have ever seeing. Undoubtedly, you're an inspiration, your place is not only practical but functional plus Eco-friendly and let's not forget Chic; in one word, you're design is AWESOME!. Seriously I wish I had you close by, in order to recreate your accomplishment. Vale' un abrazo a los dos, hasta luego~
All of your videos are truly amazing! The guy with the cows reminds me of my grandad. He is 84 and after the death of my grandma lives alone in a village located in the middle of a mountain, but still absolutely refuses to sell his cows. He says the day he gives up his cows is the day he dies. These types of lifestyles really bring with them a sense of warmth and sentimentalism that is both inspiring and comforting. Thank you very much for sharing :).
Cancer is the body's inability to stop the process of healing, the same natural process in producing a placenta (that one pound organ attached to the uterine membrane which serves to nourish a developing baby). The essential anti-cancer vitamin is VITAMIN B17 (known as Amygdalin, and as Laetrile when extracted from apricot pips).
OK, this is cool don't get me wrong. But they obviously spared no expense on this. The video title is very, very misleading, especially considering they didn't really even use the original structure--they rebuilt it.
wonder if they would like to adopt a 42 year old Londoner? who would love to express his joy for their absolute green build by experimenting and constructing a geodesic hydroponic greenhouse for fruit, vegetables and fish.
I wonder which is the purpose of live of those people living in such a wonderful and great integrated to nature place! It looks like a residence where to meditate and make a contemplation life. But probably there's more uses which I cannot see. Could you give me some light on it?
Mesmerizing!!! It is wonderful to see how these architects have managed to integrate fascinating architecture in nature. I have also seen your houses in abaton.es and I am overwhelmed. Thank you for your sensitiveness!!! Let us all enjoy!!
Another awesome video, Kirsten. This blending of modern with rustic is fascinating. I love the stark minimalism of the interior. The sinks are just crazy cool with water running through stone channels and then outside. I don't know how you find these places, but I'm glad that you do!
so beautiful...reminds me of the remote villages in north indian himalayas....the cows, the cold weather, the beautiful landscape......thank u!!! i love these videos.
@7ox13S7ud10s I too noticed that, but then they pointed out at least one indoor shower as well. That outdoor shower probably feels terrific in the summertime though when it's really hot! :-)
That area seems very similar to our region, in the Ozarks. I love the use of traditional wisdom to work with nature. Actually, I love the subject matter of all of your videos. Thank you! I am inspired once again!
@pureevilfnord No such excuses for opting-out here. Review the videos and you will find the cheapest shelters. Again, it's not only *money*. We are here to share, so relax and try not to label. Conspiracy-theories worlds are more partisan by definition and these videos go beyond that handicaped reality.
I really respect what they have done with this property. I appreciate modernism, minimalism and working with the natural environment. That said, I often wonder why spaces like these are so devoid of color. Would color destroy the light/space aesthetics? I think I would feel sad in those rooms. Does anyone else feel that way?
I don't like it... I hate the notion there was something good in the past that somehow we lost... the only good thing about the past is that is gone... this is not modern architecture by any means...
The stone walling and farming plots look like the ones found under the peat in Ireland.
Very nice build, invisible, blends with the rest of the buildings and landscape from the outside, but very modern inside. I like the water use, very good to have a reservoir.
@nicolasboullosa absolutely true but when it comes to the luxuries that were put into this "barn" money is what counts. I wish we all had the resources to have a home like this in such an idylic location.
@jeeperoo84 This is an old abandoned barn in the middle of nowhere in north Extremadura mountains. In other words: what you can save investing in the affordable real estate of the area can be used afterwards for the project. A typical suburban small home is more expensive than this project. I'm surprised to see some blind statements related to money and class. This channel shows how taste is not related to wealth at all.
@nicolasboullosa Did you read my comment? First relax and remove your preconcieved notions of what you think I am saying. I am a builder and know the cost of building. and the remoteness of the project only adds to the expense. Looking at the couple in the vid they look like educated well off people,(not mstone masons, carpenters, concrete workers,...) more than likely they hired a crew to come in and do the work. Which isn't a problem that is what runs the world commerce.
@nicolasboullosa So do yourself a favor and read my post . I like the house AND I agreed with you money cant buy taste respect or mindset. As for education it can buy one of those. You can get one for free though if you are willing to open your mind and listen to what people are saying and not be a closed minded and opinionated. Which are you?
@Hadesofthe07 Money can buy a title for you. A lot of money can buy a nicer title. You may even take advantage of that type of education and even learn something. But I'm talking here about the *other* type of education (not the one to be used to get a fancy job as investment banker). That education is so hard to learn that is not reachable through the conventional channels. One can reach it by herself. But it's somehow harder to get. And it does cost nothing in terms of money.
Rustic simplicity, minimalism, stoic elegance. Good contemporary and "timeless classic" can be closer than we think. The house learns from traditional wisdom and doesn't "adapt" what it finds, showing a respectul attitude with past & future. Similar to the Japanese concept of "wabi-sabi". Old Mediterranean is to me very stoic and, therefore, very close to "wabi-sabi". All that said, this house is sadly the exception nowadays. It takes lots of settled taste & humility (not contemporary treats).
What a lovely house!

I like the "camouflage" aspect; outside, it's a rustic stable, while inside is a dwelling worthy of Frank Lloyd Wright.
