@Ammoniumbicarbonat hes been a black belt in karate and tkd for over 30 yrs, trained with joe lewis and chuck norris, there is no need to be able to do the full splits for any martial art.
Hehe, some mistakes here... You SHOULD actually do some light stretching during the warmup, and it's a big mistake to stretch hard when you've had a workout and your muscles are tired. Hard stretching after a hard workout equals inury, some will even take long to heal. Stretching should be done in a workout of it's own. Stretching after a hard workout should be light and relaxed..

@Ruben1994OL you should really be doing only dynamic stretching after the warm up with the big stretch at the end,it wont injure any muscles. The type of stretching that would be inappropriate is is heavy isometric stretching after strength training.Hes mistaken in condeming leg raises, they are the most beneficial to kickers.Static stretching doesnt always correlate to kicking ROM.Ive 2 degrees ,1 in exercise physiology and a second in sports physiotherapy
These are the same stretches hockey goalies use.

I believe the most helpful thing you said was the part about mentally relaxing your muscles.
Thank you.
