  • This gouging happened to us. Our son was in Sendai. Within 1 1/2 hours after checking on flight costs they jumped from $1700 to over $5000!! this is shameful for the airlines to take advantage of people in a desparate situation. The airlines slogan should be 'Out of chaos comes profit.'

  • me like you Monty,i dont have a problem with fair capitalism, but honey this is an obscene thing to do to people at a time when the service this business offers can be vitally required.....you cant paint this enough different colors not to have it stand as what it is "profiteering", plain on the face of it!!....(hugs)

  • unbelievable :-/

  • yeah monty, I cked #s on the CAL website....its kool not being right on this....Not price Fixing......I kinda slightly know both CAL and airlines,,,,,I do like your vid's and thank you for them

  • I found round trip tickets from St. Louis on continental airlines for $729.00 on April 15 to Tokyo. Returning on May 8th from Tokyo then to Houston and then to St. Louis.

  • That is it, I am not flying anymore, We need more people to promise that, until they give them people back their money and pray that those who are alive had the money to pay the normal cost to fly will be compensated for any damages as well. We must stand together and make these Airline w/TSA bastards know what time it is. BOYCOTT TIME - This is OUTRAGEOUS! Wonder what Alex Jones have to say or is he in India, lol

  • They are looking foward for all of the government aid workers to come in so they inflate all of there prices, there for we the tax payer will get stuck with the tab like always!! And like always OBAMA will talk a good game about cutting spending, BUT will force "we the people" to pay for there over priced road trip !! We shouldnt let one flight touchdown on our soil ! It will most likely be contaminated ! The marines pulled back along with U.S.ships! Whats that tell ya ! Thanks for posting!

  • You need to recheck your #'s. $1,948 on the 15th and next month $1,042. Fares are always higher the closer one gets to departure date. Fares were much higher during regulation. Air travel is cheaper than the grayhound bus. The airline Industry is the only industry that is not to make a profit. Bansters and big oil make billions a qtr is ok. Hotels charge more for Fri & Sat, just another day of the week, Wrong you are on this. Airline pricing is extremly competitive

  • @rmjetmech Call continental Yourself or click on the link in the description which proves it!

  • @rmjetmech Hey despite what price the online reservation initially pops up for you, you'll get a shocker when you click 'book this flight' - I did that and got a notice that the fare has changed.

  • Why must the world be so shitty...

  • 19,000!!!!!

  • WOW !

  • Wow- greedy or what?! So these folks need to find alternate routes hopefully- if not then most are likely trapped there.

  • HA, HA, LOL, JUST ONE MORE REASON WHY THE LORD IS GOING TO COMPLETELY DESTROY THIS PLANET, COCKSUCKERS ARE OF A GLOBAL NATURE ON PLANET EARTH, THERE IS NO GRAVITY, THE WHOLE WORLD SUCKS, "KILL THEM ALL...!!!" ~ SPARTACUS...!!!

  • Air Canada, You suck.

    Corporate scumbags.

  • yep, gouging is what I'd call it. Sad when companies try to profit on a natural disaster, it's like they are trying to keep people there! Sad.

  • Monty, obviously getting the hell out of Japan is a good idea. However (comma) why in the hell would anyone want to go to LAX from Tokyo? My point is, the prevailing winds run from west to east. The radiation fallout will spread with the prevailing winds. If I were in that situation in Japan, I would not be focusing on LAX...I would be looking REAL hard at Thailand.

  • The official response is, RADIATION IS GOOD FOR YOU , just like "mercury".?

  • @IronRangeSurvival And fluoride too!

  • I just checked on Expedia for Tokyo to NYC and lowest was $1448 RT with several under $1950, although Delta was over $2600

  • Wonder what the price is for private charter out. Private jets charter fly's out of Tokyo. $19000? That's insane.

  • This is just sick. That is completely fucked up. The people running these plane prices are probably the ones living along South Korea.

  • But, as far as planes go, it is their plane and they should be able to charge what they want for it. I got a pen I will sell you for $5,000.00. It's MY pen. :-) Don't want to buy my pen? Then don't.

  • Monty, i could not hear anything you said over that flanel shirt.

  • If I could only say I was shocked

  • I just ran a check for (roundtrip) flights leaving tomorrow Tokyo - LAX on Expedia: Korean Airlines $1305.80 Phillipine Air 2326.25; Cathay Pacific 2574.40 & 2581.00; They go up from there.

HOWEVER the minute you click choose this flight to book it comes up with a page that says 'Your Price Has Changed'. That 1305.80 flight now costs 4222.80.

  • @hunt1803 Clicked on Why did this happen?

Ticket prices are subject to change due to the dynamic nature of airline inventory.

We work hard to manage changes and to show the most accurate prices at all times.

Our Best Price Guarantee ensures this price is the best available for this flight.

  • Good reporting Monty!

  • It's called supply and demand Monty. Capitalism at it's best!

  • Here they are all about £1,200 - £1,500 Tokyo - London to. One way.

1,500.00 British pounds sterling = 2,439.75 US dollars.

Corporates always make money out of disasters & peoples misery, always have always will as long as we allow it.

  • Who wants to go to LAX? I think the Japanese would go to Australia or Hawaii.

  • how about a new NWO Soldier vid?

  • excellent report, Monte...

  • This really pisses me off, theres people that want to come back to the States and now during a crisis they have to Pay that kinda of price. Thats criminal. These airlines should be a shamed of themselves. Some people may be stuck in Japan because of that price.

  • On Orbitz (a Delta company) On Delta Airlines.. TYO to LAX leave 5/16/11 return 5/30/11 the cost under the lowest price details.. Cost of the ticket is $584 + $444 taxes and fees for a total of $1,028. The $444 is for fuel tax, landing and take off, International terminal fees, TSA fees, and fees to pay for the Guy that is going to grope you. From working in the past for Delta this sounds correct. The $444 will not change but the $584 will.

  • @pughmecdoc I going to check Employee ticket cost.

  • wow..... you no Japan just had a volcano go off they dont seem to be able to catch a break I am praying for everyone over there as you said its just crazy

  • LOL $19000! DO I GET A HAPPY ENDING END THT FLIGHT?

  • @edv177 no, I called that one costs $25,182.87

  • @DinNook LOL OK WELL THEN THATS WORTH IT! SHE BETTER NOT HAVE HAIR ON HER FACE

  • seems like they are not making it easy to get off their island? can it be a form of a death sentence to the common folk who could never pay to leave?? shame on big corp new world order.,

  • and don't forget, while you pay them a ton of cash, you also gotta go through a scanner and have naked pictures of yourself put on the internet, or have yourself felt up by strangers.

  • You can feel radiation and taste it. But by that time you're long past help.

  • So let's gouge the people during times of disaster. Nice. Par for the course.

  • maybe la isn't best destination - la to japan os a looong way, you know, and air prices are up due to gas cost - you get better pricing if you fly over weekends and avoid the business traffic -

  • Orbitz.com gives me a price of about $1235.00 to leave on the 15th (Tokyo to LAX).

  • There has NEVER been a disaster where there has been no gouging. It does not matter if it is a Hurricane, Flood or tornado or anything else. The prices rise because those that can afford it will pay the asking price. Just chalk it up to human greed.

  • HMMmm taking advantage of people because of a natural disaster..? seems like the case.

  • Why is there no talk or news about the possibility of radiation affecting the U.S. west coast? I've seen a couple home made perspectives made by YouTubers, but that's it. Nothing official.

  • @ForcedAgenda

Because the reactor will most likely not melt down?...And someone has to bring it to the news, if they don't know they don't know. (though they might, and are keeping people in the dark) but the fact of the matter is that there was only a tiny bit of radiation, iodine 131 isotope is like the lightest thing and has a half like of only a week...it won't make it over here in time. If theres full meltdown however,... west coasters, better chug down some iodine solution to block 131

  • @MrOmniblast Thanks for the feedback dude.

  • My friend, theres a low season and a high season in the travel business. At low season, you can get a round trip ticket for half the price. A one way ticket always cost more than a half of what you paid for on a round trip. And yeah, they have always charge a hefty sum for emergency booking. I use to be a travel agent and run the business from home and I dont understand it either why it will cost an arm or a leg just to look on the computer to find if there is any seat left.

  • If your guys name is Frank B. I know him.

  • I think that the cost of fuel has gone up all around,..thus the higher priced airline tickets. Usually around this time there are cheaper rates because this is the beginning of Spring break season for students.

  • Thanks for posting! Peace! .V,,

  • Instead of taking advantage, we should be helping them out of there free of charge. We're so quick to send aid when it serves the agenda. It just goes to show that our govt isn't interested in humanity.

  • NOTE: Later this afternoon I will be interviewing a Chief Master Sgt RT. of the Air Force and he has just agreed to allow it to be recorded and published on YT. This gentleman was a 30+ year veteran of the AF. I should have the full interview, on my page by 7pm this evening! :)

  • @Montagraph Covering the Japan situation from a civilian and military, perspective! I believe this person will be 100% frank, for I have known him for well over 20 years! This IS NOT Col X! This the rank is much different! Lastly, he was a top hot dog in the "Information Business".

  • @Montagraph airforce army navy they are all zombies IMO.. we are going to get eaten alive

  • Interesting....

  • If you are from Japan looking to get out...LOOK INTO TRAVEL VIA CARGO SHIP!!!! Google it, and it'll tell you how to do it. It isn't as cheap, but cheaper than $6,000

  • @Ingelgried That's just crazy!

  • next time try a round trip.... i bet its way cheaper. it is the same situation and ever was when i booked flights. most of the time (depending on the route) the one-way-flights cost way more than a round-trip.

  • Years ago, my wife made me watch that movie The Titanic. This makes me think of how only the rich folks were allowed on the rafts.

  • @Katfellow Good point!

  • What a bunch of Shit. Price gouging because there was a natural disaster. What is so sad is that for some reason it really dosent suprise me. Ass holes.

  • ......its all considered job security....dont cause panic, dont tell the truth, just let the effects surface 10 years down the road and cash in on the medical perspective.Seeing how people can spread radiation contamination, it would be an easy money bomb for those in the know.....

  • its all about the money

  • Good Grief!!!!! This is beyond disgusting.....Thank you monty...

  • You gotta admit that big business is quick to capitalise on a crises. Never let it be said that they missed an opportunity to screw the public, besides they'll have to pay for the planes that got damaged! Ha ha

  • Leaving March 26

    6:30 pm Depart Tokyo (NRT)

    Arrive Seattle (SEA) 6:45 pm ... $1,097.70

  • Good job bringing this up. The MSM should be talking about this.

  • Who was it that said never let a crisis go to waste?!

  • eat seaweed folks thats how the Japanese overcome the effects of radiation oisoning after hiroshima and nagasaki . grab it cos the new batch might be radio active eat it daily , add a little to salads , cabbage/greens also some puddings are thicken'd with agar or carageenan moss personally i'm not up for the government issue iordine , just my oppinion

  • sounds like the real humanitarian aid needed right now is free flights out of the danger zone

  • Comment removed

  • Do those flights include a couple of curtesy handjobs or is S&M extra? -Canadapat

  • man thats some fuked up shit its all about how much $ they can make when a NATERUAL disaster happens i thought the US are the ones that help people when shit like this happens and thats how we help them. were fuked. great vid thank monty, everybody else on the west coast stay safe and god speed.

  • Already the media has brushed Japan under the rug, the morning talking head media asshole shows didnt hardly even mention it! I dont believe a word anyones saying about no danger from radiation, etc, why would anyone? Only the rich can get out of Japan by design.

  • @davids11131113 Davids, it looks that way, or maybe it is their company policy to only allow those who can afford safety!?

  • @Montagraph

It probably has something to do with pilots demanding huge compensation for flying through radioactive airspace and the airlines knowing that once the plane is iradiated, it is scrap. Incurance costs in other words. Only half joking here.

  • @davids11131113 As usual David, you are right on target!

  • I couldnt bring myself to spend 2 grand on airfare to come home on leave when I was stationed in Japan much less these rates. Thats crazy.

  • If people are looking for flights I did see 788-1500 on kayak.com. It is terrible for these people to even think of jacking up prices right now.

  • Comment removed

  • I would have flown to Thailand to get off the island

  • I just have a feeling Bill Gates,Barack Obama,Bush and other "important" satanist people, are prepairing for 2012..

Not the end of the world, but the death of many..

    Fucking masons,satanists,human killers..You Totalitarist PIGS!

  • I found a flight $788usd singapore air from narita to lax. haneda to lax is more money usually... and seems the case this time too.

  • I've been holding off using my us air ff miles in case i needed them in the event of an emergency..but, over the past 2 years they've been jacking up the number of miles needed to go anywhere.

now this info really tells me where that company is going.

  • Nice Monty glad someone brought this up

  • Pretty wild stuff going on in the world. Have a feeling it is all being orchestrated.

    RESIST THE NEW WORLD ORDER

    KEEP ON PREPPING

  • um, yea thats gouging no doubt. Whats worse is theyre gouging because of a potentially life threatening condition! "Sorry sir, but being poor is punishable by death" i mean what the fuck!

  • I consider LA to be less safe than Tokyo as Tokyo was unscathed and it is east of the Nuke plants...unless folks think the Island is ready to go under. If Japan goes under LA is toast so I dont know what the rush would be to pay $6 Grand to get to LA

  • A polite "nasty gram" sounds like

an oxymoron, but that's what I

would do too. I'm the queen of polite

"nasty grams" in my own mind ;-)

  • i could understand a couple hundred dollar increase just becasue of the shtf situation....

    but that increase is criminal.

    good video.

    pretty scary is about right...

  • @PoketsOfagenius It makes me VERY sick, the thought of these ass hats pulling this.

  • @micromilesaway It always works out that way, huh?!

  • shit...for 3000 bucks yoy can buy a raft and leave today!

  • nothing seperates a man and his money like a natural disaster....WTF?!!!

  • @the7thwreck That's an understatement! This is certainly Outrageous and needs serious public attention! I will continue to check out companies and their air fair practices, in coming days!

  • @colddarkstare lol, Nope, because I didn't go to bed yet!

  • Yikes, are they pricing those tickets in yen? This is serious price gouging. Totally wrong.

  • @hunt1803 Nope, see the link provided, that is in U.S. dollars!

  • I dont were this fits in but it caust 3100.00 one way econ.to Iraq from tx in 2004 man. "thats a fact jack"

  • Apparently the airlines are going to make their money come hell or high water. Amazing. Thanks, Monty.

  • @brinkofchange I think if enough people climb in their ass, they will think twice about it! ? !

  • Dude British Airways are quoting £792 or about $1300 check the site out britishairways dot website

  • That is a damn shame! I hope the person who sets the prices BURNS IN A JET FUEL HELL!

  • That is some crazy shit man. Good idea looking at this disaster from that angle. Thanks for the info.

  • That reeks of profiteering. I am checking out the British airways site now.

  • Thanks for digging Monty.

    -TEW

  • Monty, top~o~the afternoon to ya.. isn't there a law that says ya can't profit off a natural disaster..? kinda like plywood goin' to $50 a sheet (pre-storm) when the goin' price is $21 a sheet..

  • I guess the dollar has dropped faster than we thought! price gouging cocksuckers! just like rham said! you need to take advantage of a crisis!!!!

  • i agree this is bullshit. they did the same shit in the aftermath of Katrina with gas. people couldn't afford to get out. this IS wrong

  • i think we are ok. the pacific ocean is a huge ocean. you it covers a good part of the earth. Really with all of the air borne nuclear explosions that have happen in the past and we are still here.
