  • I had almost all of Cameron Paul's mixes back when I lived in P.A. (Palo Alto), but some assshoole's stole them, I had them on my 90 minute tapes, 45 min's each side, thats how Cameron broke it down daddy for his mixes, i believe so we could have it recorded!!?

  • anybody seen videos of the actual event? Who won?

  • I went to that battle lol

  • I used to listen to KSOL in the early 1980's. The stationed mostly played R&B music. They were in competition with KDIA 1310am out of Oakland, California. They were both good stations at the time.

  • @airjor1 Me too! It took a couple years before I could figure out how to get KSOL up in HAFB - Novato (needed the right FM antennas - lol). KDIA was my station for years until then. This is my first time actually seeing Paul Cameron. I still have tapes of him mixing - I believe it's him - if he mixed a lot of Italo, Techno & Electro between 1984-85. That is who this is right?

  • @djJackMF As I listen I realize this guy was one of my bigger influences in terms of mixing style. Paul was probably the saving grace for the Bay Area in terms of the more cutting edge dance music. There was a lot of good Soul & Funk music that existed organically - but I think Paul brought the emphasis on electronic music as far as public radio goes anyway.

  • this is dope

the bay is always slept on

  • ksol 107.7......real music back in the day!!!

  • KSOL was the Shit back in the day, before KMEL changed to HIP HOP format, 107.7 was the Authority in Bay Area Hip Hop/R&B.
