I laugh so hard everytime I see this video for some Weird reason this Run DMC goes well with this LOL this definatlly wasnt the music we used on the platform that day doing these dances but this would have been cool as hell especilly in Russian LOL
@Kingstone316 LOL I have done this but it wasnt at home it was in one of the former Russian countries I stoped in on the Orient Express we were greated by Russian dancers it was funney as hell me being a Texas from the states in cowboy boots and a hat dancing with them on the platform it actully made the local news there I nearlly died laughing seeing it on tv there but I had fun hell I had enough Vodka in me LOL I danced with a person dressed in a bear suit and traditional kosak costumes
@sudanesecat There ARE NO soviet dances, language, nationality and so on. Soviet-exeptionally political term! Soviet Red Army of that time was almost a copy of Russian Tsar Army. Uniform, traditions, ordens and medals in the name of RUSSIAN saints, military leaders and heroes. Here you can see RUSSIAN soldiers dancing traditional RUSSIAN dance. So your statement makes no sense.
@Gorkovka79 The Soviet Union was highjacked by the Russians,
Everything the other republics invented, produced, discovered, wrote, created, sport, music and even the various republic culture of song & dance was passed off as Russian during the Soviet Union [political period].
People from other republics, recognise their culture on youtube, being sold as "RUSSIAN" rather than the correct term as Soviet which is a fusion of cultures and traditions from the various republics.
@sudanesecat There is a book named "The affirmative action Empire" written by one western writer and describing the principles USSR was based on. Conclusion of author is that USSR was a distorted empire where the population of metropoly was relentlessly exploited to satisfy the needs and demands of "colonies". Usually it is vice verse! All that respublics produced and invented was russian simply because scince as such and industry were introduced only by russians.
@sudanesecat It is funny to see how former soviet republics being for 20 years independent still unable to create something worth of attention and recognition pretend to call all-soviet era achievements as non-russian and of their own! But facts are facts: finding their inability to do smth on their own they massively migrate back into Russia to have opportunities available here. But in internet they every single time try to abuse russians and misappropriate russian achievements.
@Gorkovka79 By the way Gorkova, all the "Russian" saints originated in Kievan Rus, the old name for Ukraine.
In fact Mosovites [old name for Russia], still come as pilgrims to visit Kiev and the monastery of Pecherska Lavra, where the monks lay mumified. That is where Russian culture and religion comes from.
Know your history properly, not selectively & stop thinking like an imperialist.
@sudanesecat Listen your comment makes no sense. What is it about? How does it relate to my comment? I know that some (NOT ALL) saints originated from Kiev and russian pilgrims visit Lavra. So what? Ukranian pilgrims visit russian monasteries to prey to saints who originated from other cities than Kiev. I know that we are i single nation having the same religion. Ukranian church is a branch of russian church. The very word "ukranian" is russian. Ukr.Language is a dialect of russian, So what?
@Gorkovka79 @ Gorkovka79, wonder how the Ukrainian language was a dialect? Do not you think that is so similar to Polish and Belarusian phonetics, dialects are not?
And by the way, it is necessary to teach history, and know that the languagesof the Slavic peoples came from the Old Slavic (Old Russian) language ... and was the center of Kiev as the center of Kievan Rus.
The only problem that every move in this dance is from a folk Ukrainian dance performed there for centuries. It called Hopak (Ukrainian: Гопак), also referred to as Gopak or Cossack dance, is a Ukrainian dance. It is performed most often by Ukrainian dance ensembles, as well as other performers of folk dances. It has also been incorporated into operas and ballets.
The Hopak is referred to as the "National Dance of Ukraine".
@Rinoashka " we already should stop share a common heritage" - I think what you intended to say is we should stop divide a common heritage. What you actually said in Russian would sound: "мы должны перестать иметь общее наследие". I can't agree with you that we have been "united", to me who was born in Ukraine, lived my first 33 years there, most in USSR it never felt as it was united ( my whole family is from Eastern Ukraine, no connection to Western).

Проясню ситуацию... в видео нам предоставили запись выступления одного из военных ансамблем "песень и плясок"... ну тут вариант - танец.
Я горжусь своими предками, которые так умели танцевать!
Всем привет с Украины!)
To clarify the situation ... in the video gave us the recording of one of the military group "song and dance" ... Well here option - dance.
I am proud of my ancestors who knew how to dance well!

You can say that this is a "soviet dance", but not Russian. It was not the Russian army but the soviet army and that was made up of various republics.
The choreography is basically the "Hopak" a traditional dance of central Ukraine particularly the Poltava and Kiev regions.
It is a mistake to say the Red Army is Russian and a common mistake moreover.
