I saw this movie 4 times in the theater in '96 after it was released. I think it the best sci-fi adventure movie EVER! I own it on blu ray and have posted some to my channel.
Great movie but I have a question. When Piccard, Worf and Hawk are on the ships exterior and Hawk is assimilated, how did he get cybernetic parts implanted in his face through his space suit?
Man, I remember re-watching this trailer twenty times in a row every day back in 96 o 97, when it came out... and the video was the size of a postage stamp! lol
took my cousin to see it... he had no relationship to star trek, but he enjoyed himself immensely. the world in the future, check. out exploring space, check. the navy, check. zombies coming to eat us all, check. yeah, this is definitely one of the best ones they made.
@GusF Wrath of Khan still is the best Star Trek movie on the whole, I will agree with that. Of the four TNG films, this one was the best. It had good acting, excellent drama, and a grand climax for the #1 bad guys in that series.
@quantum460 "We're not going to lose the enterprise. Not to the borg. Not while I'm in command." Best line in the movie. Nobody tells Picard to give up.
@Techolover21 The Motion Picture The Wrath of Khan The Search for Spock The Voyage Home The Final Frontier The Undiscovered Country Generations First Contact Insurrection Nemesis and Star Trek (2009) There are some rumors of Star Trek (2012)
Well, the phoenix was damaged, and had to be repaired by Geordis engineering team, so they probable brought them along for back up, incase the ships engine cut out, and they could help repair it. Or maybe its as simple as there was supposed to be three people on the flight, but one was dead and the other was on board the Enterprise.
@StoneKnivesBearskins Voyage Home was a good movie. It's what got me watching Star Trek in the first place. The other two I've never seen but I've heard good things about them.
@TheLegolasguy Star Trek 6 is also really good. I recommend that you watch 2, 3, and 6. Stay away from 5, though. An odd numbered Trek that was written and directed by William Shatner, with absolutely no Nimoy touch... ... ...
Don't get me wrong. I love TheShat, but he isn't a very good writer or director
4 and 6 were both written by Nimoy, and I think he had something to do with the writing of 3, but I'm not sure. He also directed 3 and 4
BTW, I love your name. I'm a LOTR fan after ST fan
@strikerk yeah the story was mixed you don't know if kirk died because he came from the nexus,And if time doesn't exist in the nexus maybe kirk is still alive. Maybe that was just a projection of picards mind just like his family ain't true
(I have seen Generations) I am just laughing at the fact someone could be reading that comment and not know Kirk died, it would be one of the biggest spoilers in Sci-Fi
a question ^^ that i have to ask .sry for ma cheap english .. BUT .. the szene were picard kills 2 borgs in the holo dek with holographik oldschool ^^ earth weapons ..what if .. if they install the whole ship with such holo emiters ^^ <- wtf ^^ ... i konw sounds nerd.. but i aks my selfe since years ^^ ... (would that be a better protektion against borgs to use holo graphik earth weapons OR use ORGINAL MP´s to hit them like a stargate team ?! ;) .. a nice rocket in tha face or such stupid stuff
Yes it never made sense that they constantly used phasers against the Borg when physical weapons like bathleths and good old fashioned guns did a much better job...but that's Star Trek for ya.
And they should have just installed holo-emmiters all over the ship to provide sentries yes.
@80smusicfanNO1 Its a flaw ive thought about. Ive read suggestions that the borg would adapt to them. They would simply increase their body armor until guns wont hurt them anymore.
But yeah, they would need time to adapt, so if the entire crew armed with guns would make one big assault, they prolly wouldve won.
The first time I watched the movie, I felt chills going up and down my spine. For the first time, the Borg are the scarriest villains in Star Trek history!
st2 was not just all action ^^ there was the moralic decision ^^ sacrifice one to save many of mr. spock ;) that one weights heavier than the action. i just hope they dont fuck up the new one so its just some stupid action summer block buster for the kids
Either Wrath of Khan, Undiscovered Country, or First contact. But you have to stay clear of part 5, Kirk does kill god and thats the most bad ass thing ever.
Definitely the best trek movie uptil now. But let's see how the new movie is. Looking at the trailer; it seems pretty good but i donot know if the original series characters could be made as powerful as the TNG characters.
Im from Orange and Fearne Cotton interviewed him for us on the Red Carpet, if you search for bafta 2009 patrick stewart interview with fearne cotton you'll find it!
That enterprise episode where they recover the crashed debris of the borg ship from this film should have been made into a film sequel for this one - it would've been awsome.
They should actually show people being assimilated cos its a scary thing - i think First contact showed one person being assimilated. That was a let down.
How unimaginative that they had to spend more than 50% of the soundtrack for the trailer re-using Star Trek: The Motion Picture and Star Trek: The Wrath of Khan theme music.
