I agree that she is a super talent. However, she still has to get over herself. Her ego is larger than the State of Texas. I knew her from the high school days in Chicago when she was down to earth in her mannerism. But people change...
i still have the album. wish i can get it in cd.i wish youtube would play the track "senor blues" from this album. the best version of this song ive heard'
Great talent for a lady that can't read a lick of sheet music. Kind of got into herself, ego wise in the late 80's to the present time. Still surrounds herself with great talent.
@samspader101 I know, right!? I was shocked when I read her interview in a Downbeat magazine some years ago. But her knowledge of complex chords and gift for arranging even the most mundane song (You Light Up My Life) into a samba track you can actually dance to...fantastic! Although she's still recording great albums, I just wish radio stations all over this country would play her music so more people can hear this awesome talent.
My God I've not heard this song for nearly 40 years but I recognised it instantly! great album which I sadly lost, anyone know if she has anything out presently?
To all you original fusion jazz dancers from the days of Horseshoe, Devil's and Electric Ballroom; ya'll know who ya are! Classic west coast samba fusion. Different gear!
