  • WHERE CAN I GET THAT GUY'S SHIRT AT 4:30? :O

  • fuck... i'd be speechless if i got to do that

  • being able to perform with thom > goin to the grammys

  • Thom Yorke dancing to TUSK might be the best thing I've ever seen.

  • I love Jonny's riff

  • YES TAD CARPENTER! One of the best instructors ever!

  • Amazing. Band 'nerds' do cool things and science is proving that band nerds have harder_faster_stronger minds than thumb downers who become brain dead after yrs of head butting. I'm on mescaline. Carry on.

  • 6:30

can't get enough of thom's moves.

  • Tad carpenter, USC drumline director! I had the honor of meeting this great percussionist and talking to him about this performance. Fantastic.

  • sounds sofa king cool

  • lol 1:40 and the tubas, you're doing this thing aren't you?

  • viva Chile¡¡¡¡ que bueno estos videos, si quieren saber que digo??? ocupen google traductor¡¡¡ jajajaja saludos

  • "U2 Mediocre"...is right :)

  • I love the TUSK mic check, they look like they are having so much fun...YEAH THAT'S RIGHT, WE PRACTICE OUR ARSES OFF....WE ARE REALLY FREAKING GOOD!!! Plus Thom rockin' out is pretty cute too :)

  • interesting to see what goes on moments before a national tv audience.

  • thats the only hot band member ive seen on the bass drum

  • @mycomgame007 Then you haven't seen many bass drummers then.

  • @mycomgame007 hahahaha xD

  • HAHAHAHAHA THOM!!! AT 6:29

  • How cool are you guys?

  • I love at 2:00 thom says I'll keep an eye out, cuz of his lazy eye

  • I just feel like crying everytime the guitar riff starts, its the most beautiful thing I've ever heard

  • this is so amazing. what an accomplishment!

  • This would have been my freakin dream-come-true! Congrats to those kids for such a great opportunity!

  • thommmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

  • Drumming is amazing, Radiohead is amazing. Drumming with Radiohead is beyond amazing. Lucky Lucky people.

  • Lucky bastards get to perform with Thom and Jonny. I'm a drummer and I am so jealous man.

  • oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooommmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmgeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! this would be the best experience ever!!!!! man, this is probably the reason i would want to join the USC marching band: they get sooooooooo many professional gigs with great artists like this! i would have been freaking out the whole time :))

  • I bet they chose Paltrow to introduce because Thom Yorke replaced her head with his in "Thumbs Down". Haha! This is amazing. What a fantastic opportunity for the USC band!

  • The most underated guitarist at his best

    lush stuff

  • I'm surprised they allowed to tape this. This is GOLD!

  • gwyneth paltrow was the worst part of this video

  • if i were one of the them, i wouldn't be settled for even one second seeing Thom Yorke right in front of me

  • The only marching band on the planet who qualify as rock stars.

  • @Rbnthom there are so many other college marching bands that could put usc in the ground.they are only big because they are usc.

  • what is the first song they start rehearsing with the band the one at 3:16?

  • Comment removed

  • i love imagining this song going on while Miley cries her eyes out.

  • lol they almost get confused when don't have the typical 4/4 tempo... jking! congrats guys... if Miley Cyrus had talent, would play in your band and would have met Radiohead... lol

  • @TERRANCIO

lol. you know, i spent days trying to figure out the tempo of Everything In Its Right Place.

Just started listening to Pyramid Song and haven't got it yet. Don't gimme any hints :P.

  • @TERRANCIO it is 4/4 o.O

  • @UuDonKnowMe ???? what are you talking about?

  • @UuDonKnowMe the song is in 5/4 or 3/2+2/2, but the "conductor" counts 4/4!

  • @UuDonKnowMe its in 5/4 ?

  • lmao Thom Yorke jammin out to the soundcheck song was hilarious

  • Fuck.

  • 6:27

    Thom likes LOL

  • Holy fuck.......Imagine just being part of the Trojan marching band, ya it's cool you get to go places and perform and shit then being told you're gonna be backing Thom Yorke and Jonny Greenwood at the Grammy's.... I'd just be like. O.O

  • Comment removed

  • I'd be so fucking intimidated by taking instructions from Thom Yorke, holy shit. I'd soil myself...

  • @Lpfreak21 not me, I'd be like Thom how are you?

  • Comment removed

  • @Lpfreak21

one my incompetent soiled friend said the same thing i guess..just like you have said

  • I hit mute when the Jonas Brother's played.

  • Luckies!!! got to play with radiohead...

  • They're both great so everyone shut the fuck up.

  • This would be the greatest fucking thing ever for a marching band. I know what the old stereotype says, but everyone in this band probably got laid that night.... or at least blowjobs

  • @Fiberoptic

Well kudos to you. Sounded pretty sweet to me, but then, I'm not a "drumlineophile" like yourself.

  • yeah I'm sure thats true, because those high school bands get honored for being great every year huh? They win titles every year right? Yeah they are better

  • I'm just wondering, but did you ever audition at USC for their college of music? Its fucking ridiculous. Most people don't get better than this...

And a lot of the time, the way they play is not even in control of the drummers themselves, rather the composer, or conductor or even some cases the drum major.

Also, this is a rehearsal, and obviously doesn't sound good, but I thought the final product was marvelous.

  • @Breakdancingguru :

Thank you very much for that comment. The band is a very visible part of USC-the Song Girls aren't hard on the eyes either, lol. However, the Spirit of Troy also represents the high standard of talent and performance required by any ALL student musicians (not all of the band members are majoring in music) and students of music. Not many people outside of the Trojan Family realize this-thanks for the respect.Thom & Radiohead played w/the marching band THEY REQUESTED.

  • performance is awesome

but where is old nice thom..?

  • did they get to meet them?

  • Did there shirts say, you use to be alright? If so where can I get one

  • Off Radiohead's website they have a bunch

  • this is probably one of the best things ive ever heared, i love the song anyway, i love radiohead, but the marhcing band is just amaze :O

  • It doesn't get ANY better than this! Marching band AND Radiohead?! Two of my favorite things!

  • The main difference between Radiohead, and Coldplay..

One writes music to with the goal of producing art.

The other writes music to hit the charts and collect a paycheck.

It was so fitting that Gwyneth got to introduce her husband's hero.

  • That's a pretty unfair statement to make towards Coldplay. Just because there is a disparity in the artistic quality of the bands, Coldplay still turns out pretty good music, and have more or less a sonic differentiation between all four of their albums. They could have made Rush of Blood 400 times over and gone platinum each time, but Viva La Vida and Parachutes are so different. Just because Coldplay is poppier doesn't mean that their sole focus is makin cash

  • hehehehe...and johnny doesn't notice he's in a room with a marching band...the man is covered in guitar!

cool choreographies by the way! very interesting application of a marching band

  • man, if more cool bands or musicians would right for marching bands, marching bands would kick ass!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! damn, that sounds freaking crude, crazy, roaring

  • Wow, what an incredible experience, wish I was there...

  • This rocked - not only were you in the presence of Radiohead, but you were so funky and cool. Groovy!

  • the tenor player at 5:43 played went to my high school and played in the drumline

  • inspired me to write a christmas song..check it out on gypwin

  • those r sick shirts theyre wearing

  • one of the tenors played in my high school drumline im in now

  • Very cool. Super jealous of USC.

  • i'm more super jealous of radiohead.. haha FIGHT ON!

  • OMG! I SAW DIANA ROSENBURGER! She was my tour guide for USC Band Day today. Ha-ha. Insane day. 2,000-3,000 plus high school band members. Learned a lt today.

  • omfg the rehearsal would have been INSANE! having thom, stand there and watch you play HIS song...and be stoked on it! haha congratulations to all of you. AND JONNY was right there too!

  • 15 steps.....great song

  • If I was in that band I would have been pissing my pants out of excitement. Soo awesome.

  • This was the coolest performance I have ever seen! It gave me goosebumps...still does.

  • you guys have some good lookin girls on yer crew

  • Comment removed

  • check that Toomey

  • who is the kid in the green shirt ?

  • what a great honor! i would be sooo excited! :D

i can only imagine how jealous the other USC students would be/are.

    I know I would be. :P

  • It's something else to be excited in the presence of a rock star, and another to actually have to perform with him, making sure you are doing your part as a musician.

  • Why are the USC kids not more excited???? I was more enthusiastic watching Radiohead perform from my living room... :\ they better know what an honor it is to play with bloody RADIOHEAD for fuck's sake. Best band of all time.

  • I'm a guitarist in high school, about to apply for UCLA, but if i had the chance, i would drop guitar, cram drums, and go to USC just to play with Radiohead.

  • im pretty sure those usc kids crapped their pants

if i was one of them, i would have never come down, especially if i was on the horn

    man

  • I love Thom's crazy dancing during the Mic check; it just makes me smile :)

  • 1:21 at first i thinked the blue guy was thom Lol

  • Oh, why did I quit band in High school?

What a beautiful way to learn some of the most beautiful music of our time! What a privilege this is to learn Thom York's music with him as a coacha nd teacher. He seems to be such a patient man with the students.

  • These kids did a great job...

    What an experience for them...

    Cheers,

    RRKS

  • this video is like a 9 minute smile. great job USC band and nice vid. thanks

  • Wow you guys are so blessed to be playing with Thom and Johnny! This is a bit out of the blue, but anyone know what kind of sneakers Thom was wearing during the performance? Those were some bitchin hi tops.

  • Really fun to watch the creative process at work...

  • absolutely amazing.. these USC band players must feel honored being able to perform alongside Radiohead.. btw how did USC get chosen? anyway, i would've been happy to be in their shoes, especially watching thom jamming out to us. great performance at the grammys and rock on!

  • most likely because the grammys were held in LA... and USC isn't too far from there soooo... yea

  • alf904:

I think the USC marching band was invited because the band has played well at The Grammys, The Oscars, etc. Radiohead doesn't need any extra support to perform, they're amazing. I thought this was a great honor for The Spirit of Troy.

  • It was Radiohead's idea to have us play

  • sourkrause45:

That's so cool! The Spirit of Troy performed on a professional level;there isn't another way to describe an excellent performance with a very creative band and making it look easy. Congratulations, you're going to go far kid.(wink, V sign)

BTW, the version plyed without Radiohead is great. Thanks for the explanation/

  • you guys were amazing! AMAZING!

  • Those guys are really lucky to play a song with radiohead

  • What's Justin T like?

  • TAFFY LMFAO

  • TUSK!!!

  • as far as calling thom and johnny "radiohead" without the other 3, its just the way it happens and the others dont care, I dont think lol. IN the acoustic concert they have on there in france, i think one of them even says it themselves that when johnny and thom play by themselves its cool cuz they get to see a radiohead concert.

  • RESPECT. RESPECT!!!

  • Aghhh, I don't think I've ever been this jealous in my entire freaking life.

  • Comment removed

  • Interesting

  • Damn the Trojans!!!

    lucky bastards

  • hahahaha totally!!! That's probably the only time I wish I was in a marching band!!!!

  • AMAZING!!! =)

  • you know,on the related video or smfn there's miley cyrus singing the national anthem,i was hoping to get a good laugh, but its not..THE national anthem, sorry offtopic :(

  • radiohead is the best

  • You guys where brilliant =)

    Loved it

  • Go Horns!

  • For me, this is better than sex. I have got to see Radiohead live just once.

  • USCTMB, U guys did a GREAT job!!! And having to work with Radiohead im sure it's an amazing experience, i love them! and seems like thom is enjoying it too :). I think the concept was profoundly awesome and I JUST LOVE 15 steps more now with your guys' version! XD

  • damn learn some bass technique.

  • True that.

  • I missed this when I watched the Grammys. I waded through a whole lot of crap to see it, then before they went on, I got kicked off of the TV. Man, if Radiohead had wanted to play with MY marching band, I would have geeked out hardcore. They are so lucky.

  • I'm glad they did this.

  • IUBboy05, really? Why can't you just appreciate that everyone is different? Not everyone is a corps head and does things that way... geese. Narrow sighted people and their opinions.

  • LOL what drummer counts of "1-2-3-4" instead of dutting? Basses, Technique much?

There's no way this is a college group, looks like a poor high school trying to teach mentally retarded kids how to drum lol

  • IUBboy05 you ever hear how scojo counts? i'm sure you think you're all bad, but when your school or group plays with radiohead, or system of a down, or any major group, then you can say something.

  • I loved this!.

    damn wish I was there!.

  • this is insane. More than half these kids are probably huge Radiohead fans. Imagine when they got the email telling them that Radiohead wanted to play with them at the Grammys.

  • Soad , etc had played with them

so i think their quite used to it

  • shut the fuck up. i thought this was brilliant.

  • Oh and why would they play There There? In Rainbows was nominated. And I'm sure you know that, but you just said the dumbest thing I have ever heard.

  • BAHAHAHAHAHA! You called me a dumb little cunt? I'm soooo hurt. Were you beaten as a child?

  • how come you can not find the grammy video anymore?

  • It got removed because of a copyrights claim :(

  • that sucks. thanks for the info.

  • arrrgghhh..so lucky kids!!!

Jealousy is wat running thru me!!

  • You Lucky Fucks!!!! :D :D :D

    Hahaha

Congrats, Jealousy Is Something I Rarely Feel...

  • what was the beginning song like the intro

    from 0:00 to 0:12

  • are you kidding? you mean the song from 0:00 to 8:49, that was all 15 step.

  • who knew a marching band can be this cool? Goodness. Thom!

  • Lucky kids, them kids.

  • I love radiohead

  • love thom grooving on down to the soundcheck. haha

it was a great arrangement....i really liked the performance.

  • congrats!!

  • That was the best performance/collaboration!!!

  • i have that same dang tour shirt too ;P

  • god damn. that band is so FUCKING lucky!

  • 15 STEP was on Twilight? How'd the emo fags get ahold of my Radiohead???

    Damn them!!!

  • Please...twilight is a low thing to compare anything or anyone to, even emos

  • You mean the reason why that whiny piece of trash was so successful? I'm afraid not.

  • its hard to listen to something that you need to work to appreciate right?

its too bad not all music is empty fluff.

  • What the hell are you talking about? I'm dissing losers who don't appreciate great music like I do. That "whiny piece of trash" I was talking abiut is Twilight.

  • misunderstood. thanks for clarification, except for the fact that a lot of that soundtrack is good, which makes no sense at all.

  • Sure it does, I mean it's not hard to find good music. It just bothers me when it's used to propel the creations of people who either don't respect or don't understand it.

  • thom in the grammys? ok :$

  • Thomas is mad:)
