If Israel and Palestine can't learn to coexist as one nation, they'll never survive as next door neighbors. The added distance will escalate their fear of each other and simply compel them to fire bigger weapons at each other.

They can live as two spiritual nations, restoring their original borders, exercising two branches of government, yet living all together in one nation called Palestine Israel, or Israel Palestine, or the Palace of Israelistine.

That's their best chance for survival.

The mass immigration of Jews to Israel started before the British, during the Ottoman empire. They bought the land from the Arab landowners. In addition at that time much of the land was not populated and in disuse.
