@JimBowie1133 Google "Wells Fargo CEO blasts TARP, stress tests" All major banks were required to take TARP money. In the case of Wells Fargo, they clearly did not want it. All banks were required to take the money in order to make the situation seem widespread rather than identify the poor management by a few.
@fzqlcs , I agree that Paulson was insistent and did pressure the some of the banks to take the bailout but to say they were 'forced' is not accurate. Nonetheless, They did not make much effort to resist taking the money. They also had no problem with paying out extravagant bonuses with this 'unwanted' money that was forced on them.
The thing I hate about all these criticisms is not which political economic philosophy rules in Washington, but that the people who offer the critique, in this case Sowell, offer no explanation on how to solve our economic problems. Also, each President have economist in their cabinets who have differences about their economic philosophy so who is right?

I rejected purely on the premise that the last this country need's is a bunch of adolescent's running thinking they have authority behind what their age allows. That, and I wouldn't be able to stand kid's with a sense of pride for the Collectivism, and not with themselves as strong individuals.
We will get even more inflation with the printing of more money. This is a power grab by the left. I have my differences with the Republican party for sure, but is there in reason for ONE DEMOCRAT to be in office??? Can anyone think of ONE reason? And do NOT say it's because they are goofy and fun to watch. They are destroying our country.
@SuperGuitarman69 Yes, the democrat Hank Johnson. He was reelected and there is a reason for him to be in office - who else would make sure Guam doesn't sink?
@SuperGuitarman69 Yes, Hank Johnson was the guy who ask Adm. Robert Willard during a House Armed Services Committee hearing whether he was concerned that the extra 8,000 troops they were sending to Guam might tip over and capsize the island. He was serious.
@megagagnon1 Oh my god. I just watched 3 videos on him. I absolutely LOVE THAT GUY. You are correct, we have to keep him in office. The lone Democrat. He is outstanding. He is our comic relief and a friendly reminder of the Democratic party. He is a Democrat without the (lie to the press and America) buffer.
@megagagnon1 Yeah from Conyers. Have you ever been down there? I am a musician and I used to play near Conyers. Oh they are something else down there let me assure you.
@SuperGuitarman69 Yes Monica Conyers - i've seen the video where she calls the head of the city council "Shrek". Totally disrespectful. She's definitely a byatch.
@SuperGuitarman69 Ok yes Hank Johnson is a representative from Conyers County. I though the topic was political goofballs, so of course when you said Conyers i thought of Monica Conyers from the Detroit City Council. Youtube her name and you'll watch a byatch on stilts.

Politicians spend money like drunken pirates. First they loot the money of citizens by force or extortion and then they spend it in their whorehouse equivalents.
@fzqlcs I know and so do they, lucky for them there are a lot of people who can not think for themselves and can easily be manipulated into a collective delusion.
And yet those are the people who say 'The government are liars but lets do what they say, come on everyone and join the herd otherwise your not a team player'
