  • Hey Rob, would you recommend me this amp ? Between i'm mostly playing Joe Satriani stuff. I would greatly appreciate if you could reply to this comment.

    Cheers !

  • hey man, here blackout from COSTA RICA, do you have heard about the RT100 randall head?. we as a band are trying to find some quality heads (as you can see, not to expensive), to play live. what do you think about it? i would appreciate your contribution cause i now you now what you´re talking about.

  • Dude can somebody name me an amp for beginner that NOT sounds like shit when i turn off the gain for up to 100euro? plssssss^^

  • @DieMuzze1 for $143 (100 euro) you can (in the states) get a marshall MG15DFX (used) / fender champ 600 (used)

  • how much does this marshall head cost?

  • @myskull54 $1099 usd

  • Chappers, I'm in the market for a new amp, and Im stuck between the Marshall JMD1 100, the Blackstar HT100 and The Hughes and Kettner Switchblade 100. Which one do you reccomend out of the lot?

  • It's hard to tell from a YT vid. The one thing that will never be captured digitally is the 'air' that you get from an all tube amp. To me these amps sound like that auto-tune vocal function that been so over used now. Soul-less. Life-less. Yeah. Fizzy.

  • it sounds quite fizzy :/

  • @RobChappers What's the riff at 1:57ish Chappers? I'm guessing it's Monkeylord, but if it's a recorded tune where can i buy it from? Cheers

  • If you look and listen closely, it's like Dio and Zakk Wylde. Well to me haha :)

  • That guy sounds like the narrator for james and the giant peach!

  • Monkey Lord plays a dave mustaine guitar, no one will believe that!

  • that amp sounds good, but the guitar makes it sound 10 times better ;)

  • I bought one JMD102 and It doesn't sound like anything in the videos, I want to take it back to the store and compare it with some other ones, bring my guitar and cables. I think mine is somehow defective, I did cranked the volume up and bought hight quality monster cables, but still the snd is rubbish. I'm disappointed and hopefully I will get another one, or the guy at the store would be able to explain to me what the hell is wrong with it or what I'm doing wrong.

  • @liedjaeger The ones I played sounded like crap too. Once you get them louder they get flabby. I ended up buying the JVM 210C. More money but once you plug it in and crank it, you know where that extra money went. Plus you'll have a real Marshall.

  • @Machin3God It's not the amp that sounds like crap, it's your playing.

  • @BrownBrown90 Yeah, you are right. My playing improved tremendously once I bought a real Marshall (JVM).

  • Sup i just bought the jmd50 fullstack what are the best settings for heavy metal?

  • engl amps rape marshall

  • @vicgarcia30 ,Agree Dude! ENGL FTMFW!

  • I'd rather go with a Framus Cobra.

  • Bout time marshall did something like this although line6's all valve stuff i imagine is alot better??

  • Wow it sounds really muddy and undefined. Wow I can't believe you all can't hear it how horrible the distortion is. It sounds like those old PEAVEY MOS-VALVE amps from the 1980's. Rob is a great player, but this amp sucks.

  • @luteplayer2525

It sounds to me that he was using his neck pickup most of the time..hence the MUD

  • So its kind of opposite in design to a Valvestate...? Sounds pretty sweet to me

  • @funkydoodycool in that case this must be a Statevalve!

  • @guitarl3g3ndz or a Etatsevlav

  • @funkydoodycool Genius, true genius

  • So because it's very 'versatile' (and because I've just watched the Marshall demo) does that mean this amp doesn't handle the 'metal' as well as other Marshalls? Ie. it can do metal, but it's more of a vintage crunch amp?

  • love this amp i got it the other week and nothing beats it in my opinion :)

  • That Dean is sexy.

  • why does every amp sounds like the Monkey Lord tone? There should be a Monkey Lord preamp

  • @bigrock007 it sounds like monkey lord tone because his playing ... tone comes from fingers first

  • @munchy040 so so true

  • I have had the pleasure of playing the Angel of Death version of that guitar. I wish I was rich... ACTUALLY, I live near one of the only shops that actually sell Dean guitars on a regular basis in New south wales in the lovely land of Kangaroos and Crocodile Dundees. Neck scale's not for me but a beauty look at and play all the same. Also, What happened to the Orange Amps you used to feature? You still have them somewhere in the depths of your garage/basement?

  • You know i may be anti-marshall, But i must say this amp sounds pretty awesome to me regardless what anyone says i think it's just a fully misunderstood beastly amp. And really who cares if it is digital or running tubes as long as it sounds good to the ear that is all that matters.

  • You got to admit that sounds fantastic...

very metal worthy... THICK BEEFY "YET" CLEAR

  • It is a Marshall so it isn't good for metal. I don't understand why Marshall will not make an amp with distortion. "OD1" and, "OD2" is as heavy as they will go.

  • Steve Dawson is the man! He also designed the Vintage Modern. Very cool guy!

  • sounds like crap analog to me

  • sounds like crap analog to me

  • fuck digital... give me tubes.

  • Comment removed

  • @KrazyKali69 NO!

  • it has el34 qnd ecc83

  • I can't believe Marshall went on the same digital modeling game like line6 and others. I can get the same kind of tone out of my 15 watt marshall amp, and Boss me 70. But still that's all digital too. There is nothing like the real tube marshall amp. Just listen to Neal Schon's instrumental albums "Voice" and the latest one. The real fat, smooth and punchy distortions, I'm trying to get to.

  • @redflw welcome to 2010 buy a 59 and get fired from every club you play have used a 59 on 4 it makes your whole face hurt from sound pressure for a club not a colusseum player it's more than loud enough and no pedal board to drag around neils amps are so turned to 20 you coulnd't afford the tune up besid the p.a. is supposed to do the heavy lifting anyway your amp and a pair of 1500.00 akg's would probably scare ya with the right person mixing c-ya

  • MG With Tubes

  • 1:58 dimebag would be proud, seems like a pantera kinda riff.

  • Can you give me the settings please, I have a Marshall JMD:1 & It doesn't sound like that :(

  • *Walks to the Monkeylord temple*

OH the great Monkeylord!! I'M IN NEED OF YOUR ADVICE!!!!

I'm looking for a Marshall Head that costs no more than 700 Pounds

Which of them do you recommend?? :D

    - Mansight Joker

  • Rob, You're an amazing musician. I'm from america, and i wish i could meet in person, so that i could see the true Monkey Lord! I Thank You for posting this video, its helping me with my next amp purchase! :D

  • can you have more than 1 effect turned on at a time?

  • chappers! greetings seeing how uve had the fantastic oppurtunitys to talk one on one with many of the people at marshall quick question! is the jmd1 share any relations to the jmp1?

  • What cab is used?

  • You met Dave? Is he an OK guy? He seems like kind of a prick to me. lol.

    Anyway, nice video.

  • Rot 'n Row Bloak!

  • haha what the heck is that stupid looking guitar

  • Dean guitar?

    Oh noooooo!!!!!

    not that crap!!!!

  • you should do a demo on the ma50h

  • Nice Playing and a Nice Dean VMNT Rest In Peace Guitar

  • Hey Rob, thank you. I thought you forgot about Bleed The Light, but at the end you proved me wrong. Its my favorite track so thanks a lot. =D

  • rip guitar :D

  • Now is this all tube?

  • No- only power tubes

  • @RobChappers hi mr chappers, just to say u are awsome dude, enjoy ya vids thay keep me going dude,iv got three forms of arthritus, only my hands spared so i can play guitar fairly good,so people like you keep me wanting to play ,keep it up dude,if you ever in nottingham pop in for a cuppa, rock on dude,

  • 1) 12AX7 in the Preamp stage. It does have a preamp tube. I have the 50 Watt Head and it sounds great.

  • Yes - 1) 12AX7 in the Preamp stage.

  • That's actually not correct, the amp use 1 12AX7 for the preamp. I have the Head and just bought the combo. This is really great amp.

  • @libagsasingit The most important part (preamp) is not tube..

  • @dbenc I would argue that the most important part of an amplifier when playing certain genres, like blues or rock, for example, is definitely the power section. In metal, the preamp is the most important part in terms of tone shaping, but even then, a digital preamp doesn't have to be bad.

  • @dbenc

    However, it does have a 1 x ECC83 tube in there as well as either 2 x EL34 (50 watt) or 4 x EL34 (100 watt) tubes.

  • Sounds like Marshall dude is a Geordie :)

    Whey Aye Man!!!

  • @PeteShredz

just about to say that... glad to see theres someone flying the flag for us :L

  • I like this sound!!

  • You met Dave?

    Did you film it? :)

Anyway how's the Rust In Peace guitar?

    cheers

  • Yes, yes and it's ok ;-)

  • @RobChappers if someone says a signature guitar is "ok" it really means it's rubbish for the price

  • @RobChappers You hate Dean don't you ;D

  • Jeez this amp sounds amazing! I sorta thought a digital preamp wouldnt make a great sound from this amp, but I am mistaken.. and once again, one of the best guitarists shredding! Keep it up chappers, you rock!

  • Did Dave actually know who you were?

  • Yeah we are working on something together ;-)

  • @RobChappers You're working with Dave Mustaine?! :O

    ...just :O

    :O

  • @RobChappers really?thats freaking amazing : D

  • @RobChappers what ??? you were jammin with dave omg !!! I would sell my soul for that !!!!!!!!!!!!

  • 2 minuts on was fuckign awesome

  • What's the riff at 2.09?

  • That is "City Will Burn" from my band Monkey Lord ;-)

  • Did you meet Dave Mustaine there? :)

  • Yes I was with Dave for quite a while, we shot a video together ;-)

  • That riff, is amazing.

  • excellent

  • digital noooooooooooooooo, i stick with my jvm 205h

  • Yuck.

  • the legend that is Steve D!

  • I'll stick with my '69 Plexi.. and my Mesa Boogie Stiletto Deuce.. No offence to Marshall but this sounds worse than the DSL/TSL amplifiers and they were horrid..

  • @ukwan you fail to realize this was done without a mic so cannot sound nearly as as good as when miced properly.

  • Marshall went digital. Sounds ok, but i'm still fan of old fashioned JCM900 model 2500 ;)

  • Why did I ever stop watching your videos? This is amazing stuff...

  • That guitar and amp both win

  • Aww, I was expecting to hear Of Wolf And Man.

  • Nice shred! That amp sounded pretty good for digital modeling and using a camera mic!!!

  • Hey Monkey Lord you rock I have a question do you know how much is this amp and when is it coming out

  • About £600 for the head and I think it's out now mate ;-)

  • Can it do an Eric Johnson-y sound?

  • Hey Chappers! when you gunna do a UK tour with the band? i'd love to come see you play... but i live in the lake district and travel is an issue. i'd most deffinately go to manchester/liverpool though.

    JB

  • where can i buy one of these amps?

  • I like the way that sounds. By the way that is a awsome looking guitar.

  • I'm noticing alot of Megadeth related-ness in your new videos XD

That's good though, you can never get enough Deth

  • thats the rust in peace guitar

  • @rck892 have u played it before?

  • is that the megadeth guitar?

  • niceamp not so much the guitar though

  • that sounds BRUTAL! but in a good way

  • like dethklok

  • That thing sounds monsterous

  • Pretty cool sounding. And sick guitar!

  • @acefireburst thats dave mustaines

  • Yeah dude I saw a picture with Dave Mustaine and it.

  • @weston758 Yes ;-)

  • Nice! I hope there is a combo version.

What type of mini Marshall stack is that?

  • Sounds very nice :) and may I ask what guitar that is? Dean?

  • rust in peaces 20th year anniversary this year.

  • @guitarlad24 the tour is going to be pretty sick for it cause their taking Exodus and Testament

  • yeah so i hear

  • isnt this just marshals interpretation of the line6 amps that came out with the spider III? Cos they do a tube powered modelling amp with bogner tubes and its as good IMO, for presumably a lot less

  • great playing as always rob , and is that a rust in pieces dean v i spy hummmmmm :) very nice

  • vmnt!!!!! i want one so bad

  • Does it have a tube power amp?

  • Yes mate - 2 EL34's ;-)

  • very flexible, very versatile, very programable, very marshall, very expensive.... Im in love with it though

  • Pretty cheap dude, only around £600 for teh head.

  • It sounds pretty good, certainly beats line 6 amps for 'realism', but it just can't compare to tubes. And if they're costing £700 each, you can get a better sounding tube amp for that

  • Sounds good, and nice playing, man!

  • pretty cool, but it doesn't feel right

  • How much does one cost, Do you know that?

  • Omg I WANT IT SO BAD!!!

  • Yea, what is that riff at 1:57?

  • @StreetDriftRacer he did ti in hos other videos it is his own riff for his band...

  • It's one of my tunes - Working title "City" from my band Monkey lord

  • It certainly sounds better than most modeling amps including the spidervalve. But I think it's still not the real deal.

  • what riff are you playing at 1:57?

  • @MihaiTeodorAndrei City will burn dude...

    Stick

  • Hows the Dean?

  • Not my cup of tea

  • I think I want a JVM... why do you give me this goddamn GAS chappers??

  • It's funny how Chappers can shred on the guitar with the concentration of scratching his arm.

  • Interesting amp, I heard it here first Monkey Lord! Gotta love the Megadeth Dean Super Shred Monster V action! Rock on!

  • Not the best audio-quality, but the amp sounds kickass :D

    .

  • Sounds pretty epic :) What's it's expected retail price?

  • Chappers would be a good talk show host.

  • is that what ithink it is? chappers, put the dean down!

  • Ha ha - It's all there was in the room, plus Dave just used it so I was curious to see how it was set up ;-)

  • Lol so you got Dave Mustaines sloppy seconds XP

    How was it?

  • Nice guitar, but not my cup of tea ;-)

  • a have a weird feeling that you sound almost the same on any amp, you just got the tone in your fingers ;)

  • lol tht mini marshall half stack looks like a lunch box... looks like a mustaine signature half stack? mabey? either way bet it packs a punch... i just hope i can put my sandwiches in it

  • Chappers :D

How was dave mustaines custom micro stack ? See it sitting there and it looks pretty badass, so how does it sound?

    Cheers :D

Markayy ( from the MLF )

  • Just like the regular MG Micro Stack.

It just has a different paint job on it and has Dave Mustaine written on it to change you extra.

    PnKnG (from the MLF)

  • kinda sounds like a can of bees

  • nice VMNT! Dave >Kirk

  • Only thing that this video lacked are some Megadeth riffs. I mean that Dean begs for some.

  • @fantasyh I let Dave do that ;-)

  • How much?

  • @superjesus117 About £600 for the 50 watt head ;-)

  • @RobChappers

    Hmmmm....

    Thats almost a grand USD...

I need a fucking job XD

I was gonna get the new 6505+ combo, but this thing looks just too perfect, and I'd end up getting it eventually anyway likely...

My spider III just needs to last me a little longer, I must have this >:[

And I used to hate Marshall, but hearing you shred on them made me take a second look, and this a rare thing, a good marshall that is affordable...

Is the 50w head the cheapest? I would assume so.

  • @superjesus117 a really good marshall head is the dsl50h you can pick them up around £620 and they are proper :)
