@L3ONARDO07 That`s fair comment. Thanks for making it. I`ve added his name to the title line and also added a link to some info on this very interesting composer/guitarist.
interesting.. for the interpretations I've heard... women tend to paly this song with more feeling than men.. well except for Narciso Yepes that is for me on the top of all guitar players of all time
Too many people play this piece way too fast. I'm extremely pleased to see that some players still like to take it at an appropriate tempo; this sounds a lot like Segovia's version. One of the best.
¡La música de Albéniz es tan conmovedora! Y esta interpretacion está hecha con profesionalidad y sentimiento-Muchas gracias por compartir .Un diez felicitado para Karin.
Dinkipoo, no thanks for your patronising usage of the ghastly 'nice' to brush aside the definitive LIT version of this great Tarrega piece. It is 'LOS Indios Tabajaras' btw. Whilst the brothers did spend a significant portion of time in the Brazilian rainforest they always remained compass-aware. I agree on KM - her version is clearly superior and more flowing than Ms Schaupp's....
....However, the LIT handling of this work exhibits the utmost in colouration and adherance to capturing the soul of the piece. The variation and intelligent restraint is simply perfection. If you think LIT is some kind of fluffy outfit then you are sadly mistaken.....
...and need to grab hold of the incredible Classical album they made. It will leave you stunned. Karin's Mascagni cover is a little tame for mine whilst JW's version is stock standard in this genre. I do adore Karin's exceptional recording of 'Una Limosna por el Amor de Dios'.
This really is superlative playing. I had a listen to John Williams' version and Ms Schaupp's is the superior product easily. Wonderful guitarist with great feeling. As I mentioned though, people should have a listen to Los Indios Tabajaras' astonishing cover of this one if you can find it. Not to downplay Karin's fantastic playing though.
Beautiful playing of this emotive work but you never expect anything less from this guitarist. However, my favourite version is the masterpiece rendition by the amazing Brazilian duo Los Indios Tabajaras.
Hey my pleasure. Yes I can assure you this is tremolo at its best. I am a classical and acoustic player of many years and have never encountered such exquisite playing. If you love this song you must hear her rendition of An Alm for the Love of God (by Barrios) on her Leyenda album, it reigns supreme. I have communicated with Karin over the years asking for her advice and have met her in person and she is as warm as the music she creates :) all the best my friend
Thanks so much for your comments. Whilst I love acoustic music, guitar in particular, this is the only performance of this piece of music that I`v seen or heard so I appreciate that someone familiar with Recuerdos would rate it so highly.
This song was composed by Fransisco Tarrega... I think the least you can do is give him some credit in the video description :)
