HEH. I don't need one of these machines to do this. I 've gotten off the couch and fell flat on my face from lack of blood to the brain. I've also had the tremors like shown in the last person here when recovering. But not for that long.
it's pretty funny how after they regain control of themselves they all smile and laugh cos they know that they went into G-loc! tough life being a pilot in training!
It's Hella Funny Whenn They Pass Out And They Stop They Move There Hands Like Special Kids Not Trying To Make Fun Of Them Or Any Thing Just F**King Hilarious LOL!!!
LMFAO All Their facials look like they've just been beheaded!!!! That's what your face looks like when your head is cut-off! I've seen an underground 2hour dvd of taliban and human beheadings! and thats what your face does, it drops and loses its normal shape! go watch beheading videos if you dont believe me and suck my cock.
The guys behind the screen controlling the machine must have an awasome day everyday teaching these ppl. They are like, hmm...let's see some funny faces today. :D
@thebronzebat Not really a dream you experience...it's called Near Death Experience and YES you dream your last dream..but in their cases the pressure is controlled by somone else. So the brain when is dying shuts down all functions and sends a shot of DMT from your pineal gland + adrenaline = YOUR death expercience LIGHT or DARKNESS...
@FEARxAIRSOFTxTEAM looking back i should have worded it a lot more lightly but i never said epileptics were funny i am friends with a guy who is epileptic and he's an engineer in the air force he's worked on my a10 a couple times and ive also been with him when he went into a seizure... so sorry i guess?
During rapid-onset-high-g in the 'fuge, the concurrent muscle tensing employed during anti-g straining maneuvers (AGSM) is EXTREME. Skeletal muscles are maximally tensed. The first few times of attempting an AGSM your timing is off and you don't have the experience to know that you have to conserve energy for the next maneuver so you expend too much energy tensing. The release of that tension can result in some pretty grotesque facial expressions.
It definitely takes work but the training is exceptional and the instructors are patient. All in all, you're brought along patiently. It's pretty much like training for any other serious "athletic" event. Most people get the hang of it. It's hard to believe that these same men and women in a few years will be able to pill 7 or 8 g's without any problem at all. (Just listen to a Blue angel talking someone through a 9g "carrier break".
No problem. It's pretty understandable. It looks like a super theme ride park and you're not the first guy to think it would give you a buzz. There are a few other things i'd put on my to-do list first--like strapping my wife's ex-boyfriend in their who thinks he could take nine g's without breaking a sweat.
There's nothing pleasurable about it. In the centrifuge you're completely dark for 10-12 secs, it takes another 10-12 seconds but it takes a few minutes to get normal cognitive practice back. And remember, you only get a few cracks at it and if you can't cut it you're done. So there's a subsequent pucker factor associated with it. All in all, It's damn uncomfortable and can really f-- you up.
In the air, it is by far your biggest threat because you can't see it coming.
Not necessarily. She was absolute for between 10-12 seconds; it took another 10-12 to recover and she seemed to be on her way back within a minute or so as evidenced by checking her watch and smiling indicating normal higher-level awareness was kicking back in on schedule.
@mean71cuda My guess is this woman was experiencing the "Viper Profile" for "the fuge": a slow 8G buidup, no G suit; 30 seconds at 6 G's; 9G's for 15 seconds; back down to 7G's for 10 seconds while visually checking your six; an ACM profile: (9G's again for 10 secs or so and back off to 4-5G's). GLOC isn't a dealbreaker. This might have been her first shot for all you know.
You don't qualify as the "Best of the Best" in the fuge. Some of our best guys
my dad went in that same centrafuge and we have a video of all the same people but with my dad and some others he flew the A-10 and was training for the F-15 which barnes air national gaurd base which he was the commander of were getting
"The Dream Team" sign up at a human centrifuge research facility near you! I like the version set to Drowning Pool's "let the bodies hit the floor" song
none of these people are pilots or pilot trainees. they are aerospace phys techs who are going into g-loc for the sake of "research". they aren't supposed to breath or strain, although one girl tries to.
Basically the centrifuge spinning is forcing blood to pool in the lower extremities. When enough blood leaves the brain you pass out. As you begin to regain consciousness it is common for the muscles to spasm and flail. You see them trying to do the AGSM (anti G Straining maneuver) the breathing cycle with the lower body muscle contractions. This compilation is from Wright Pat AFB physio lab they're making them pass out just so they can study the effects!
what actually happens is their brains flip out so their legs and arms will spazz for a bit until their brains get it confirmed that their body is in working order. They're actually tested on recovery - some people spazz more than others. In the full version of this video, the girl at the beginning spazzes much less than the last girl. It's really cool lol. All fighter pilots must allow themselves to go into GLoc
It's not from the brakes, the accel and decel forces are straight down (G-force duh) They arms fly up because of the tumble sensation caused by the semi circular canal in the ear. Those guys wake up and have a feeling that they are falling forwards so they stretch their arms to break the fall. Als known as the 'funky chicken'
These guys aren't pilots, they're all enlisted aero-med folks getting a taste of what they have to train pilots NOT to do. I recently toured Langley AFB and they showed us this video.
it happens when blood is being pulled by gravity away from your brain and towards your feet... one way to counter or reduce the effect would be to flex both your thigh and stomach muscles... happens mostly when the the a/c has to make a high G turn.
wow! hahaha the music goes great with this video. i'm joining the air force next month, i REALLY want to become a pilot. How hard is it to become one?
why does the body react so strange after this g-force test? all of them started to shake and furing around with their hands..does this happens automaticly?
The blood flows out of the brain and the limbs then when the blood returns it sends crazy messages when you arent conscious and makes you do the funky chicken
The arms spasms happen because during GLOC the blood pools in the butt and as soon as the G's return to 1 the heart can bring the blood back to the extremities and that stimulation causes the muscles to spasm. They also have vivid dreams when they lose consciousness and many of them are reacting to the dream. We were told in my GLOC class that the last subbject was dreaming that midgets were attacking her in a mall...
