i live n this area the neighbors should help shovel out hydrants on my street which is two blocks away all the neighbors take turns shoveling out hydrants
I doubt that the frozen hydrants could have saved these structures... three 3 - story apartment buildings are a total loss. It was going to be a bad fire regardless of the hydrants functioning properly or not. Should the hydrants be cleaned out better; of course. But Manchester Fire can only put in so much time to shoveling. They get slammed with emergencies every day. Maybe the Public Works should lend a hand. Huh? Or how hard is it to pick up a shovel and help out you peoples of "Manchvegas".
Maybe you should be promoting that residents take some personal reposnsibility and intiative to shovel the hydrants nearest there homes. Who knows, maybe it will save their lives.
