This was the most beautiful episode of Skins I have ever seen! I didn't expect this at all from JJ...now I feel like I can actually relate to him...being given so many diagnoses, taking unnecessary pills, and not knowing how to be anymore...

@gorramdoll I think that might be a statement on misdiagnosis and how his doctors don't really know what they're talking about or else his mom is just afraid that he might be autistic and is researching it. Autisitic kids can't really function in normal social society and especially not like JJ does - he is almost completely normal except for being a little nerdy. If you google autism you can see the descriptions and symptoms
@TP4211 well, I'm Autistic and JJ certainly seems Autistic to me. (Also the first paper show definitely is his diagnoses, I don't know if I agree with all the diagnoses listed but I do agree with "that one.")

I do not know what part of the world you are from and if the diagnosis term is the same because your communication seems very good. I think autism-wise JJ might have high functioning autism or Asperger's but he just seems very good at social functioning to have either of the two disorders. But maybe I'm wrong, I am not an expert. Either way, cool, sweet character!

My diagnosis isn't "Autistic Disorder" which is currently the most severe diagnosis; I've been diagnosed at different times with the other two autism diagnoses, which are PDD-NOS and Asperger's. Some people say "autism" when they mean Autistic Disorder or sometimes PDD-NOS, but a lot of people on the spectrum consider themselves Autistic regardless of which diagnosis they have.

A lot of the time, autism isn't as obvious as the diagnostic criteria makes it sound (especially for adults and teenagers). This is one reason why I love the character of JJ so much, because even though he is affected by disability, he doesn't come off like the writers just read the diagnostic criteria and made a character exactly like that.

@00CityLights00 so true, i really hate the U.S. verison, theres gonna be so many kids eating that shit up like cotton candy, i even saw the u.s. verisons first episode before watching season 1 of the original, and i must say that i was so addicted (still am) that i watched 2 seasons of the original skins in 2 days.
