i have a question. where are the males at in your videos? or are those males and females bearing fruit?? i have a male and female muscadine vine which are only a about 3-4 feet long at the most and i was told the male doesnt bear fruit it only pollinates the female but if i prune him will he still be able to grow back in time to pollinate the female???? anyone please feel free to help me!

As a grower in California for a long time, I find this video quite underwelming since there is no close up of the cordon/arm/spur/bud pruning target.
The rule is:
3 arms per foot
2 spurs per arm
2 bud per spur.
thats it! He does not simplify it into just this instead we have to listen to how he describes what he knows nothing of in an auquard manard.

What ever mate, for those out there who understand pruning it is a qusetion of balance. What if there was too many buds left last year, or too few? It is up to the pruner to establish how it should be done for the current years growth. It is not as simple as saying that 'this is the rule'. There are rough parameters for each pruning system, put not rules. I think the guy in the video did a good job in the brief period of time.
