  • I'm liking this series but the whole title not so much. Sure elder scrolls is a first person game but games like that are not shooters def should be called history of first person games. But none the less good videos brings back memories

  • Supreme Warrior was a FPS?

  • Zero Tolerance is a great game. I think it needs to be reanimated.

  • Rise of the Triads, such a classic!!!

  • Look at all those doom clones.

  • Operation Body Count is like Wolfenstein - Modern Warfare

  • YEAAH MARATHON!

the game where halo got its roots from

well it was made by bungie

  • 6:51 Doom Music ?o.O

  • 2:09 Tit Grab attempt.

  • nitemare 3d? re skined Wolfenstien?

  • Yey Doom

  • I dare to say that doom is still pretty much superior to all other games, including 3DO which was basically a movie sort-of console, with little or no gameplay.

  • 2:27 haha what the fuck was that?

  • Haha, I remember operation Body Count, I loved it when they screamed "Allaaaahhh" all the time (bias much)

  • Why no King's Field? Came out late 1994 in Japan, similar game to the Elder Scrolls series only it looks much better than Daggerfall which came several years later. Would be the most advanced looking title in this video.

  • Seeing games like Supreme Warrior makes me realize one of the main reasons why the 3DO bombed.

  • anybody knows what song plays at 6:55?

  • 7:00 Doom music in Hidden Below? Weird :P.

  • They're ALL using Wolfenstein.

And the Japanese consoles; don't even make me laugh!

Then it's just like "Doom II, you can stop watching now."

    And uh,

Cyberia isn't exactly a "First person shooter" there.

Which reminds me; I've been wanting to play some Cyberia 2.

  • Also missing is Christmas Carnage (or Xmas Carnage), made with the Hidden Below engine. But I think me and one other guy on the 'net are the only ones who have ever played it.

  • 3 word ( Call of duty ) compar this with call of dutty

  • @thekoalak Call of duty in 1994? That's something new :P.

  • @Deon023 Dude i was just saying that if you campar call off duty over this games ... well ...

  • @thekoalak You didn't actually tell anything. What if I compare CoD to this? I, for one, cannot compare them because they are from different time periods. It's like comparing a Stealth Bomber to first planes. However if there were no first planes, there wouldn't be a Stealth Bomber. That's what I meant :P.

  • @Deon023 Dude i'm just saying campare this to call of duty so you see the progress that fps games has done so far and if you caint immagine screw you :)

  • @thekoalak Ah, who needs the progress when you can still play Daggerfall :P

  • @Deon023 ^_^'

  • guys you know that sam and max game where you search for a snowman

and it whas made in the 90s and have ben sold out long ago right

but some how i found one copy in a store a new eletronic store with a old game

  • I remember having a Geforce 3 Ti200 in my dell 8200, only 256mb of ram in that pc, then when I got the Geforce 4 Ti4600 Medal of honor: Allied Assault performed very good. I still play MOH:AA online, there are over 1,000 servers still active and many people still play that game and Return to castle wolfenstein is still active online aswell, hell Battlefield:1942, and Bf:vietnam are still active online, many servers up. Don't let it fool you many older games are still played by hundreds online.

  • @Vox0707 Hehe, back then I had 8Mb of RAM and was proud of it (in 1994) :P.

  • Wow magic carpet looks kinda sick

  • @guitarussia Magic carpet was awesome for those days. I mean you could fly and it had huge maps... Totally new for that time :D.

  • Comment removed

  • nitemare is very ugly

  • I remember in '94 wondering why the hell I would wanna play Doom II - which made no improvement over the original - when I could play ROTT with better graphics, human enemies and amazing gore

  • @natevines ROTT didn't have better graphics, it didn't even support varying heights, the entire level had the same height, and didn't have lighting either. Doom was ages ahead from a graphics standpoint.

  • @metabog Huh, ROTT definitely had floating platforms... But that's the only height change I remember.

    Also it had dogs :P.

  • is there any way to play marathon w/ a pc or xbox 360?

  • @megatroid47

You can buy Marathon: Durandal (the second game in the trilogy) for the xbox 360, with enhanced graphics. You can download all three Marathon games for free for Mac and PC, including the semi-popular Marathon mod, "Excalibur: Morgana's Revenge." Just google search "Aleph One".

  • Nitemare 3d ! ah the memory

  • System shock?

  • The hidden below music is the same as Doom Phobos Anomaly level (E1M8) it's funny how much music I hear being reused in this video series.

  • ROTT FTW!

  • Iron Angel of the Apocalypse is an absurdly cool title

  • Would you believe, I played Terminal Terror in 1994/5 with my cousin and after a few minutes we concluded "only the graphics are good", the game-play itself did not hold up, so we went back to playing doom.

I specifically remember a green huey helicopter on a helipad, and being amazed how the game was set at night, in an espionage type mission. And now I see those lump-sided aircraft models... oh my.

  • There are two FPS developed by the british Core Design for Sega CD: in Thunderhawk/AH-3 Thunderstrike (1993) you control a helicopter, attack primary and secondary objectives, move in 4 directions and change the altitude. In Battlecorps (1994) you control a rather slow tank/mech. Both games had demos published in CDs in magazines.

  • AH-3 Thunderstrike did the 3d-wannabe better than probably any other game I have played. It was also one of the better Sega CD titles.

  • alien vs predator, marathon knock off.

  • i noticed you are missing some games like eye of the beholder and ravenloft , wizardry etc.

  • Super 3D Noah's Arc < just awesome XD

  • HOORAY FOR MARATHON AND ALEPH ONE!

  • 6:18

    OMG Terminal Terror,BEST FPS EVER!

Well, besides Pysgnosis' Alpha Storm, but NOBODY has heard of that game, despite it being so awesome.

  • wow supreme warrior best graphics ever!!!

  • marathon is grand grandfather of Halo :D

  • All right I was looking for the game Rise of the triad. Thank you for doing those videos =D

  • FM music and FX are awesome =)

  • where are marathons 2 and 3?

  • Watching some of these, I ended up thinking about this game demo where you drive around in a taxi with guns. If you hadn't had the footage, I wouldn't have related "Quarantine" as the name of the game.

I also remember the "Ludicrous Gibs" when you'd cause explosions - eyeballs, guts and all, in Rise of the Triad.

  • If you are looking to dl it I can pm you a link ...

  • @Balgorg where found ALL these games (history) ... whole history bought ? :|

  • SUPREME WARRIOR is an interactive porn!

  • @Baldoxxx4000 A game like Night Trap would be closer to that than Supreme Warrior with its First-Person Fighting.

  • my computer isn't able to play mega cd games, for some odd reason. i have genesis and n64 emulators and they work fine. plus it's easier if someone else does it :P

  • if anyone could upload gameplay from rdf global conflict, i would be eternally grateful.

  • A 1994 tank sim. I havent played it, but Moby Games lists it as a FPS tank game. You can run it in an emulator, roms are available on the net. If you can run it in an emulator then it should be easy to record it.

  • I'm sorry to say that Virtua Cop and Lethal Enforcers are missing.

  • The Amiga was so outdated at this point.

  • im outta fries

  • LOL

  • You forgot System Shock!

One of the greatest games of all time...

  • No I didn't its in another volume....hold on a sec........

  • Its in Vol 3, near the end.

  • Cool video!!

  • Rise of the Triad was awesome... Funny how it was originally supposed to be a sequel to Wolfenstein 3D...

  • Cyberia, only a few parts in that game were FPS.

  • Supreme Warrior!

  • Yup 1994 needs a vid all of it's own - probably needs 2 or 3 actually!

  • Yeah, Magic Carpet was the 'Crysis' of the first half of 90's

  • Technologically advanced, better than the new Wolfenstein.

  • Very nice, i subscribed. So many of them!

  • ;-) more after chrismas

  • Cool, man :D
