Oh jesus. Val Kilmer!? What's with this "spooky", menacing voice?
They really should have gone straight back to William Daniels. He's still doing great work and would have been the best choice to ensure KITT got the same fanbase as the first time round.
The original KITT voice had compassion and personality. Where's the reassuringly cool tone that lends itself so well to gravitas and dry wit in equal doses?
This just sounds like a movie trailer voice played down the phone. Dreadful.
They couldn't use William Daniels because he does the GM adverts in the USA and GM and Ford are massive rivals. I know it sounds silly but that's the Americans for you

My mistake. It was Will Arnett they didn't use because of the GM adverts, not William Daniels. I don't know why they didn't use Daniels.
